I met him once at a concert he did out here in Portland, Oregon years ago. I remember standing in line to shake his hand (a most auspicious honor, in my opinion), and when it came my turn to shake his hand and meet him, I stood there looking like a fool and said muttered a bunch of blabbering nonsense, and walked away feeling so embarrassed! But even in spite of my nervousness and all my bumbling, he was so kind. There is no false humility with him. Steve is who he is, and what you see is exactly what you get. His songs carry such solid theology, and you can tell that the man singing them truly does have a personal relationship with the Lord. I feel so honored to have met him just once (but wouldn't mind meeting him a second time in order to make up for the first time's bumbling failure LOL!).

Had the great privilege to hear Steve sing at Anchorage Baptist Temple in Alaska several years ago. What a wonderful and memorable evening! Steve has such an incredible spirit that only the Lord can give. His voice is awesome and his love for Christ rings out through his singing. Thank you Steve for being such an example of Christ in your music.
Hello Steve Green! Thanks Leah Tillock for sharing this. Steve Green has been my inspiration during my early years of music ministry. I have a wonderful music career because of his contributions and inspriations through his convictions, all because of Jesus Christ. I'm so proud of S.G.'s work. I remember when we met in person, I said to him, "I love your music, your voice, and I sing all of your songs!" He smiled and responded, "Thanks, me too!" We had a good laugh. Thanks again for sharing this!

Wow! I just found this interview in my video suggestions. My first Christian music purchase was one if Steve's albums. It was a cassette, that tells you how long ago that was! That's so cool you got to interview him! I love his music!
It's very rare to see a Steve Green interview, you will see an update, testimony, etc, but hardly ever a interview. So, I was thrilled to have Steve on. Online newspapers ran the interview and people on his fan page were so happy to hear a interview of him.
I love the songs of Steve Green esp. Enter In, God and God alone, He Holds the Key, People Need the Lord, Symphony of Praise, Household of Faith... I keep singing them. Steve Greens voice amazes me. He's so good.
So many wonderful songs we sang in church came from this talented, gracious, humble servant of the Lord Jesus.
I love this wonderful man of God. I would purchase every sound track from sparrow and practice and worship the Lord almost daily. His devotion and reverence for the Lord would come through his music. My favorites are He holds the Keys, People need the Lord and The road to Emmaus. I was blessed to finally meet Steve personally in 2005 and thank him for his life impacting ministry a true gentle man full of the Holy Spirit. In 1989 I was allowed to solo He holds the keys for John Osteen before his message . Thank you Steve for commitment to our Lord and Savior. And LOL your sound tracks.
Professional metal singer/recording artist here. Grew up on a steady diet of Contemporary Christian Music, notably by Steve Green. I disagree theologically at this point, but, this man remains solid and utterly respectable. He is the real deal. And has one of the best male voices I have heard in my lifetime, any genre.

me too, I'm a former christian who turned into Judaism ( even though some times doubting of it) yep, Steve's message is utterly Christ center, I admire Steve for several things, one of them is his G-d given talent which is music, his voice, his passion, his love for G-d regardless we might disagree with his theology, I would say he's a man of strong convictions he has never compromised his message for gold as others CCM he's a G-d given gift.

what a great testimony of God's purpose. His work was only to gather the tribes and then be removed. God and his not understandable plans. His plans are bigger and higuer than ours. So thrilled realized that God gives gifts to whomever he desires not of the actions he/she does but just because of he wills that way. God bless Steve and all of the ones who watches this video.

What a great interview Leah. And I think that 3+ million albums is Steve being humble ha... I would guess 4-5 million... Literally one of the best tenors on the planet. And more important, when one leaves a Steve Green concert you feel bathed in God's love.
I totally agree with you Jeff! Steve has stayed focus and dedicated, so his voice and ministry could be greatly used of God. He is a awesome talent God has blest us with and I like the reverence for God in his songs.
My favorite is "I See" ( the road from Emaneus). Play it everyday.
