    2021 now and its so weird not seeing that old hospital there anymore. My dad was the engineer in there for years when I was a kid. Both my parents passed away in that hospital back in 2006 and 2008. I can remember the pile of rubble when they started tearing it down 😢

    Thats my hometown, i grew up there in the 80s. And not much has changed since then on that particular route you took since before i left. I know down by teh mall and stuff has been developed a bit more with like Walmart and shit. But ya, looks pretty much like the town that time forgot really. I might be coming up this summer for my 30yr reunion though

      Right on man, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you come back. A lot has changed in just a short time, even in just the last 2-3 years.

      Yeah I agree, there's way more to FSJ than what this video showed............

    Thanks man, this is the town where i grew up. Things have certainly changed quite a bit since the last time i was there, about 10yrs ago was my last visit there. Ya its a gloomy looking place in the winter. But Frozen John is the best

      @CrownVictoria666  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man, I've been here most of my life, almost 12 years now, and things are changing up here at light speed, especially with the Site C Dam & all the ppl moving here. It won't be boring much longer lol.

      Ya i am old, i grew up there in the 80s, things were pretty rough back in teh day. My mom went up there last summer and said its grown a ton since they moved away (they stayed longer then i did and moved away about 10yrs ago). Pretty awesome place. Cant say i am to stoked on the Site C. Im glad its making work, dont get me wrong. But the landscape will never be the same and i wil miss that. Should make some videos down by the river maybe. Like Alwin Holland park down by Hudson Hope, or even just Peace Isl Park. Things will never be the same

      +Best Timeline Covers Yeah, I've noticed the same about Dawson Creek, which is my hometown. I've been in FSJ for about 12 years so far. With everything changing up here so much, I want to be here to witness it all, before I hopefully get to move away to Vancouver one day.
      I'll see if I can take some videos in those areas, but I don't travel far in the winter lol.

    what's up with the dirt parking lots

    • @jennifertrotter7591
      @jennifertrotter7591 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a question for the business owners, but pretty sure it has a lot to do with the high cost of paving. Some places where the lots are overly big for one business, at one time I think there were more than one building but eventually were torn down.

    Jesus that is one depressing looking village... It looks like the town that color forgot. Is everything covered in a layer of grey dust? I feel really sad just looking at it...

      @CrownVictoria666  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      haha well it was a particularly overcast day, & I think it was still fairly cold out.
      It's normally very sunny here in the summer.

      I can't imagine some of these northern bc towns looking any less gloomy during the summer if we're going to be completely honest
      I think it's the infrastructure and how bare and flat everything looks

      downtown from what i understand is a bit more developed. I grew up there in the 80s, and the route he took in this video, hardly anything has changed in the uptown route he took there since before i left. It is a pretty nice little town. This route just happens to be one of the oldest parts of town

      It's gets better with time, once you figure things out. Summer is definitely more interesting, as there's more to do outdoors and you can leave town easier and travel around the region.
