This seemed so forced. The Victory Tour is the reason we didn't get a tour for Thriller. Joe was like No Mike you are going to do a tour with your brothers and its going to be called The Victory Tour. Joe's interference in this particular time sparked a chain of events in my opinion that could not be undone. You can't force things especially when Michael's solo career was clearly rising and he had a clear vision of what he wanted. Its also the reason we didn't get a fully fleshed out Off The Wall situation either. Had Joe not interfered lots of things would have been different. Victory would have been a better album had it not been rushed had it came out a few years later, Let Mike do thriller and all that stuff then they could have come back. Now lets just take a moment to talk about the 20 years they gave us that was Dope AF and Jermaine is one helluva Base Player and Tito is a baddd ass Guitar Player. I know Joe wanted to see his dream end properly but he should have compromised with his grown sons at this point.
They did not play one song from the VICTORY album, and the album was really bad, there was a reason why Michael did most of the lead vocals, on VICTORY they had every group member writing and singing a song, and Tito and Marlon are just no lead singers, Jackie is off pitch even on record, and Randy had the best voice apart from Jermaine, but his solo songs are not memorable. And even Michael's songs sound like B-sides.
@@LeonLindProductions There was a lot of behind the scenes drama during this tour that could be an entire long deep dive. It was a genuine shitshow that audiences didn't get to see. Michael was on top of the world with Thriller and didn't want to do the Victory Tour at all but was coerced by Katherine to do it so he begrudgingly agreed. There were ticket fiascos, the brothers constantly fighting and bickering, Jermaine on a mega ego trip because he thought he was hot shit and trying to steal Michael's spotlight, managers not getting the value of what they paid to put on the show with, a pro football team and stadium having to be sold in the aftermath of the tour because of one of the tour promoters (New England Patriots & Foxboro Stadium), and everything in between.
