Yeah it sucks they shoulda had a 3 peat from 2011-2013 but LeBron played extremely bad late in that Mavericks series and it costed them. But still back-to-back is good as hell

18 to 2, wow, that's a hard start to come back from against a team of that caliber. To have a young and prime, Durant, Harden, Westbrook and Ibaka is a dream team, surprised they got handled the way they did. Harden and Ibaka was damn tooken entirely out of this series, they made hardly any noise at all, that's how the Heat were able to beat them the way they did, the Westbrook, Durant duo was not enough against the likes of Lebron and Wade
I agree. Plus Lebron was on a mission after playing so bad the finals before against dallas. Heat could’ve definitely had a 3-peat if Bron doesn’t play bad at the end of that mavs series

This OKC team is an example of a highly talented team with poor team-oriented execution.
It's cause the OKC team was extremely young, and the Heat had the experience, just like how the experienced mavs beat the heat the previous season...

Talented young OKC team with sub-par chemistry, agreed. Miami in 2012 was also a very good team. 12' Miami's big 3 is better than the current cleveland big 3. I always felt like OKC was missing a piece to become a championship team despite having so much talent. Maybe another 3-point shooter?
Lebron James is also just that good. (He doesn't have to be a prolific scorer to win, he can drive in the paint and take contact, dish it out to 3-point shooters and easily defend.)
Luke Yost I wouldn't blame it on the youth. They had this team almost 3 years and the players realized their strengths and weaknesses. I think they just didn't know how to handle the heat and their 3 pointers. Also, a lot of western teams couldn't push the ball on the break like Miami.
The "young" excuse makes no sense. Westbrook averaged 23.6 ppg that season and Harden 16.8 ppg and 3.7 assists, not to mantion the 23 years old (almost 24) Durant and Ibaka were already at their peak. Put LeBron in that impressive Oklahoma team and Durant in that Miami team, and Oklahoma would have won.
Little did they know this was the OKC thunder’s final home game in these finals…

I had just graduated high school that year. That was the best season ever being a Thunder fan. Every one watched the games with confidence that we were going to win all season long. Lol damn I miss those days. 😭

It's crazy how much bigger Lebron used to play. He was basically playing like an undersized power forward. Very minimal jumpshots, lots of post game, off the ball halfcourt offense, jump hooks. He had it all.

as a Kawhi fan, in my opinion, it was a foul, and it should have went to OT, would thunder have won? no, series pretty much stays the same, heat were just the better team, and thunder should not have let them even get up by 5, and beat them 4 straight, if they were deserving of the win, that wouldn't happen
I want to add that LeBron fouled Parker on the last shot of 2013 finals game 6 to put in the free throw line, and bosh fouled danny green on the game-tying shot, but did I complain that much? no, I admit that the heat were the better team, and they should not have let it get tied in the first place, its best that we accept defeat and move on

This wasn't the worst finals ever but it's certainly among the most disappointing. This should've been a classic that went at least 6-7 games but ended up being a 5 game dud. You expect to see good competitive basketball once you reach the NBA Finals and this series just flopped on all levels.
