I so admire even back when I had these figures as a teenager how experimental Kenner were with these clever nifty designs.
They certainly were a step up the ladder from the Returns range.
    I had the Robin figure.
I noticed with the R emblem that it was heavily in the promotional material, especially the sticker album. I thought the design of the R in the film was far superior.
I didn't mind the armour additions, it was fun. The cape was really difficult to get on and off.
Unfortunately the mask feature wasn't great. If it got scraped or scratched, the coating easily came off so it ruined the effect. The water addition was admirable but it certainly didn't make the face into flesh tone, still a dull grey.
I really am enjoying these reviews and you give such a fun and ambitious view to each one. You're never moan, moan, moan, it is nice to hear your criticisms and get a lot of enjoyment going down Nostalgia Lane.

Hey Mike, glad to hear you enjoyed the reviews. As much as I think this particular figure doesn't quite work, I am still fond of it. It reminds me of how innovative Kenner was in the 90s. Constantly pushing the playability factor. They really did make some of the most fun action figures ever.

So one time when I was in pre school I was at a friends house and they had the animated series Robin figure in all his base color glory. I stole it. Then a few days later my Mom finds me with it and asks where I got and I said “…from Houston’s house.” She had me give it back the next day we saw them at school in the parking lot. I remember our cars parked side by side and handing over Robin to Houston’s Mom through the car window. Whenever I see a figure of Robin in red and green, I imagine that day at school.

Ah mom! Great story, I'm sure if Batman caught you stealing he'd make you give it back too.

Its kinda funny how this transforming robin had more accurate armor than the transforming Bruce Wayne suit

I loved this figure as a kid. The several variants of the cape was cool. I had them both. One was black, one was gold

Nice. I need to get that Gold variant

Played around with mine earlier and the mask works really well - instant change with boiling and ice cold water - although it never truly goes away (also disappears if your warm finger touches it!) - the shinguards actually go on at an angle with the 'fin' on the outside edge, which snaps on much nicer. The cape also clips onto the torso piece with little nubs. If the figure's torso wasn't black, I reckon they could absolutely get away with saying it's a Flying Graysons version of the character, something I think they were going for anyway seeing as Street Biker Robin is basically Street Clothes Dick!

Yeah I would have preferred it if the armour clipped on to Street Biker Robin so you had a more dramatic transformation.

Wow, I didn't think you would show the water paint change effect! This idea is very cool even for today's toys standards, it's a shame that this ''soluble'' paint gimmick do no last long enough and it becomes less efective over time!...

Yeah I figured it was the age that had affected the paint. It used to work pretty great as a kid.
