Thank you Alex! I completely agree with you on the spotlights. They put one good card in with 2 garbage cards or a card they have put in like 3 times already. There are so many other cards that haven't been on the spotlights in forever! Garbage like this stops me from spending completely.
Also wild that Eternals are just missing from caches. Aside from Thena, NONE of them are datamined up through January. Meanwhile cards that released after the Eternals are in caches already.
Totally agree with you on that. The spotlights suck. Luckily, I've been playing long enough to have a decent collection, but man, I can't imagine getting new into this game and seeing those garbage spotlights. I'm not saying that Zemo or Blink are meta cards, but where are they? They've never been in a spotlight cache while Knull and Lady Deathstrike have been multiple times.
I'm a completely F2P player only been playing 4-5 months and it's crazy that almost all spotlight weeks already have cards I already own making it difficult to want to roll for the new ones. Even though I'm missing soo many cards, not even pool 3 complete yet, they have managed to put duplicates in every cache.
I have compiled the information of all spotlights from the first one until the end of this year. This is what i got: X-23 has been 6 times in spotlights High Evo 5 With 4 appearances are: Jean Grey, Knull, Legion, Thanos, M.O.D.O.K, Ghost Spder, Silk, Jeff, Man-Thing, Blob, Lady Deathstrike, Gladiator and Ravonna With 3 appearances are: Tribunal, Echo, Iron Lad, Darkhawk, MIrage, Galactus, Nimrod, Spider Ham, Nebula, Silver Samurai, Kitty, Alioth, Zabu, Mobius, Black Knight, Nico Minoru, Phoenix Force, Werewolf by Night, Annihilus, Havok, Selene, Miek and Hit-Monkey With 2 appearances are: Kang, Stature, Spiderman 2099, Snowguard, Daken, Caiera, Hercules, GrandMaster, Beta Ray Bill, Elsa Bloodstone, SuperGiant, Cull Obsidian, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Pixie, Mockingbird, Cannonball, Ms Marvel, War Machine, Red Hulk, Red Guardian, USAgent, Sebastian Shaw, White Widow, Valentina, Sage, Namora, Skaar, Copycat, Thena and Sasquatch A card i don't understand why it hasn't come out yet for the second time. And does not even have a variant: NOCTURNE Cards that could be in for just the FIRST or SECOND time instead of S4 Legion, Havok, Miek, Gladiator, Ravonna, Selene. Or High Evo for the 5th time and X-23 for the crazy 6th time: Ajax, Arishem, Baron Zemo, Blink, Gilgamesh, Gwenpool, Hope Summers, Hawkeye Kate Bishop, Sersi, Speed and Wiccan Theyre doing a TERRIBLE work with the spotlights. Its beyond infuriating!
Crazy work my man, but yea... it's down right infuriating what the spotlights have become... fodder of mostly unplayed cards for new cards, so you waste keys on fodder variants and then end up buying keys, or just not getting the cards at all.
@SoleSan Thx man. Putting two S4 cards together is just mocking on people. Anni and Wolf with Fenris is a really good week even though Anni is not that good now. But the next week you have the meme card Havok and Legion for the 4th time. All cuz Gorr seems busted. You cant have that kind of imbalance from week to week. People can buy you having 1 shitty card and 1 good card each week. But having 2 fillers alongside the new one is terrible with this economy
Completely agree. And what pisses me off the most is that there are multiple cards that haven't been in spotlights (like every season pass card since April) and they refuse to add them to spotlights. Multiple people (including me) have asked about it on discord, and they just ignore. It's annoying at this point, more than 9 months just to see Baron Zemo in a spotlight is insane
Ditto for all of the Eternals. Thena is our first chance at one. Dec/Jan datamines show still no Eternals but newer cards like Kate Bishop and Marvel Boy
Everyday it's getting harder for free-to-play players to keep up with Snap's card economy. December caches is a slap in the face after surviving back to back OP season pass cards.. Even though I am still missing plenty of series 5 cards, I happen to own all the cards in the December cache because they are mostly series 4 cards. I am seriously considering putting the game down for good, despite being the most fun onlien card game. Why do they do this especially when there is legit opponent in Pokeman? It is really mind boggling.
The thing I find weird is that, if I recall correctly, when spotlights were first released the argument for series 4 inclusion was that there weren't enough series 5 cards at the time to fill out the caches without repeats. Yet the consistent lack of series drops means that argument is now null and void, yet the same faces keep popping up. It's like the devs are wilfully trying to anger the players. And it doesn't even make sense, because there are a whole bunch of series 5 cards that are decent but not meta-breaking that could easily replace the filler: Zemo, Corvus, Pixie, Sersi etc. Also given that they're popping up in caches, this guarantees that Lady Deastrike, Gladiator, Hit Monkey, Miek, Ravonna and Selene all stay in series 4 when the December series drop hits.
Thank you for continuing to talk about the spotlight issues, it makes no sense to me that they'd keep releasing old garbage S4 cards with the new/good cards
When I was a brand new player, the first Alex stream I ever caught he was playing Thena, Angela, and Kitty with Ani Mevushal by Infected Mushroom blasting, and I watched ever since. Thena will always be the Alex Coccia card to me.
Fenris "kill the board" combo. Put down Fenris T2-5. Get Destroyer, Viper, Sif in your hand. T6: Use Lady Sif on Destroyer, Viper the Fenris, activate Fenris, end turn. Fenris will jump over, his activate will trigger on the opponent side and bring back Destroyer on the opponent's side. This should work just like how Hellcow's activate discards from the opponent's hand if Viper'd. That alone makes Fenris worth it.
I'm always glad to see a content creator take the side of the actual players, instead of trying to defend stupid practices from companies. And that's I'm here. Love you for that. They lose zero money for making the spotlight caches actually something decent. Zero. There's zero reasons the question mark doesnt award a player a card they dont have in their collection, instead of a random card, that you could own, and get.... pityful tokens for it. There's zero reasons to release every card as a pool 5 card, and only to do series drops once (or twice, if we're "lucky") a year. Personally, I'm ok with them having the "big bad" cards that will never see Pool drops. Ok. But make every other Pool 5 cards drop to Pool 4 after 2-3 months, automatically. And have pool 4 cards drop to an intermediate pool 3.5 tier after the same time, also automatically. That tier could be then the holding room for cards waiting to drop to pool 3, and give new players something to grind about. Granted, the game is fun to play, and I enjoy it. I buy the season pass to support it. That's 11€ a month I spend, without thinking about it. And that's 132€ a year. That's not pennies. That's 2 AAA games I could have bought instead. Yet, I do it because I like the game... for now. But the second I'm tired of the grind, and being disapointed with every little thing they could have done better, without really breaking a sweat (nor losing money, as this is a purely digital game, let's be real here), i'm out. And I wont be the only one. So, fix your stuff, 2nd Dinner. Or give us Knull for the 6th time on the spotlight caches. Because that's a great card that SURELY someone still needs it.. right?
You're absolutely right about the caches being garbage. I am missing more than 20 series 4 and 5 cards and somehow I have 2 of the cards in almost all these caches.
One of the crazy things is, some of these filler cards really felt like gimmes for a series drop. I think none of us are really holding our breath for SD to drop good cards, so dropping cards like LDS, Miek, Selene, Valentina, or Havok would make some sense. Specifically those last two, either they're going to stay where they are, or they're going to be dropped right after they leave the spotlight caches. Either way, feels bad.
Biggest feels bad about caches is the random S4/S5 card. I've pulled Thanos literally 4 times. I missed out on 4 potential S5 cards I don't have (and I'm missing a lot) to get 1000 measly tokens each time. It's the worst feeling. I just wanted Thena, so of course she was the last one to get pulled. With my luck, I'm usually having to drop 3-4 keys. On the bright side, I'm loving Malekith! He's been a welcome surprise
As a more recent player definitely saving up for x 23 and high Evo they r two cards that open up a whole new archetype for me and I'm going to unlock knull soon so I actually don't mind powerful cards returning as I don't have a lot of them 😭
I think the next series drops is going to be a breaking point for the community, if they do the same thing like last time ,it will 100% show us where their priorities lie and that we as their customers are unfortunately NOT number 1 , its the revenue. I demand community voted series drops!! Let us drop what cards WE want, show us its not just about the money. We also desperately need new game modes, something permanent , 2 weeks event is NOT enough for the amount of money people drop in this game including me. Its obvious who or what they care about, we are just coping and hoping its us but its not its the money.
While I do agree with the issue of reusing the same handful of Series 4 or 5 Cards, I think when rating the Caches you should be viewing them as is and not from the POV of someone who already has the cards outside of the new ones. I'll use the Gorr Cache as an example. I've been playing since March of this year. I *just* got the last of the Series 3 cards just a few weeks ago and only have a small chunk of Series 4/5 cards. I don't have either Havoc or Legion, so if I were to choose to use one of my Keys on the Gorr Cache, I'm guaranteed to not walk away empty-handed. Plus with the recent changes they made to the Caches (Spotlight Variants now being in the first slot if you already own the card instead of a PMV in its slot like it was before), it makes it to where you aren't "punished" for pulling a card you already have.
He does rate the cards in the spotlights "as is". These are terrible-mediocre cards at best. Barely any of them see play at all and are unlikely to see any play in the future. The win rate and play rate shows that, those stats are unlikely to change.
What are you talking about? Havok is a horrible card, getting him literally means you walk away empty handed. Kinda wild playing the game for nearly a year and not having the slightest grasp of the value of the cards.
Honestly I get the frustration with some of the choices for the Spotlight feature cards, but i have noticed that they are cards intended to have synergy with the new card. A lot of times they still wouldn't make it into the best deck with the new card, but i dont think they are putting those cards there solely to make us feel ripped off.
The fact the spotlight variants that are supposedly worth 2400g look so generic or plain ugly imo just makes using spotlight keys on weak months that much worse.
I agree with you completely, it's super obvious what they are doing with spotlight caches over and over again. I can't remember when was the last month that Spotlights where difficult to choose because they were all decent or interesting, at this point is always "which week is the least worst to open" and I'm extremely tired of that. They show us time after time that they just don't really care about the players that much as long as there's people spending lots of money on the game. Luckily for us Pokemon Pocket already announced new set before the end of the year!!
Lol and you think you'll be able to keep up and complete the next Pokemon sets free to play? The random loot box system on that game is pure greed, you can spend hundreds of $ and not get the card/s you want.
@@hunter4229 I have almost every card since I started playing without spending anything on the game yet, so... And I don't really care rn that much for future sets, the reality now is that they are at a better starting point than Marvel Snap, which I'm still playing and enjoying, but we've had so much of this bs already to know how they act about it and treat their players (and I even like the spotlight system, but as Alex said, they keep giving us bad caches intentionally, so it's obvious that they don't care that much)
my prediction alex, is that most of those series 4 are going to drop to series 3 soon. SD is pushing for last sales before they become free. its totally irrelevant for those series 4 to be there.
Alex, thank you for raising this issue, one of the few content creators that's here "for the people". I have played the game since launch, purchased every season pass and pretty much always done my dailies.. and I am still missing some cards. It's infuriating seeing the same shitty cards put in these caches. Where are Wiccan & Speed?! They don't do nearly enough series drops and every card they release is a series 5 (I am sure they previously said they wouldn't do this?). They have kinda lost my trust over the past few months, I couldn't believe they buffed Hellcow how they did on the eve of releasing a Blackcat bundle, knowing Hela would be rampant again. I play the game on steam and have so many of my friends ask me about the game, I always tell them that the gameplay is great, but warn them it's almost impossible for new players to get into with how the card acquisition works. For the first time, I am seriously considering stopping playing SNAP, which should honestly scare SD to death, as I am their model customer who buys season passes, gold passes and the occasional bundle.
Completely agree with your rant about spotlight caches. I keep considering putting the game down for good when Marvel Rivals comes out. I want to at least try to hold out until Character Mastery comes out to see how it turns out. I've been enjoying myself okay, but the card acquisition has been a major sore spot for a long time. The unfortunate thing is that if I put the game down I know I'll be far too discouraged by falling behind I won't come back.
Love your videos buddy. I will not point out the fact that your lack of sliding into frame has me broken hearted, but I did want to say I appreciate you continuing to speak out about the trash ass spotlight cache system and SD's crappy behavior with monetization. It's good to see you and other creators being more vocal about it as of late.
@@kaijubutter4480 You may rethink that next time you wait several minutes to be matched with a real player. Also, player count aside, they are definitely losing PAYERS every month if the whales in the Discord can be believed. The fact that they still remain due to sunk cost doesn't mean they'd still be spending the same on game that openly despises them.
YES Alex!!! You understand, it's so frustrating how the spotlight caches are these days with the undesirable series 4 cards. They already limit how we can collect enough cards to make a build we want, why screw us over with how hard it is to collect tokens, and then so many ways to waste precious and hard to get keys.
wow, preach it Alex. This is insane the spotlights and all the series 4s. Completely agree with you and others, there's no excuse for including series 4 cards in spotlights at this point.
I cannot wait for King Eitri and Gorr to come out. Both those cards are going right into my Asgard deck with Thor and Beta Ray Bill. I think you should revisit that deck Alex!
Mailbag Question: (just kidding 👻) As a constant season pass byuer, I can only go for spotlights when im missing more than one card. This strategy keeps me closer in the complete your collection "race". For me it isn't about which card I'm excited about anymore. All that is left, is complete collection Fomo. I'm not sure if Second Dinner is aware of spiritual change that happened to SNAP. When I started in Miles Morales season the intention to play the game was: what cool cards and decks do I want. If I would start today, I would recognize that card acquisition is hard even for veteran players. A big red card and a common mobile play unfun trap (yes I'm looking at you HS, PP,...). I think it is possible to have a working economy, while constant season pass players should be able to get all cards, not more, but this. Another main consequence is the underhype of certain cards at release like Namora, Red Guardian and others. SP players going crazy on the weeks flavor could convince players to invest in this weeks flavor. If SP player isnt able to do that he sticks with the plot armor of the month and goes with hype week of the month (which probably doesn't need any more hype). That negatively influences the meta vitality and balancing options for you. You need to balance more economy wise than you already have to. And the upset about that could rise over time. Imagine a world where every season pass players is able to get their cards. Like in the old days when the whole community flourished the meta change when a new cards arrives. And everybody was hyped, even about the quite heroes because everybody was having fun and testing it. Now the hype goes: don't have resources, cards looks meh, skip it even in my thoughts, erase any memory of it for now. This feeling will transition into the general feeling about SNAP. The difference between a +/-stimulation and their consequences are inevitable.
I think if spotlight keys gave us deck “packs” similar to MTG or Pokémon… for one key you get 5 things, a new card, variants, maybe some card boosters and some tokens… NO card dupes or credits. And it’s satisfying to open because you get to swipe through your loot. Meanwhile the collection tree remains the same and you get credits, variants, tokens etc, on your journey to unlock keys. They need to stop being so stingy with cards since 1 card can make or break a deck and it’s not fun using keys to get a new card, just anxiety inducing
The fact that Baron Zemo, who isn’t even that good, hasn’t been in a spotlight yet is actually a slap in the face to F2P. I just want the card for my collection. It’s been over 6 months since his release
Can we also talk about how these are also supposed to be the coolest variants for cards and then they give us art for Zabu and Wearwolf by Night that looks like a 3rd grader drew them.
yeah marvel snap sapotlight caches are terriable they put 2 series 4 cards which are trash or not perfoming well while puting a decentish seriers 5 card in there is too much RNG involved feel like they do this on purpose hope this system gets better no wait they prefer selling variants rather altho i need hitmonkey for my bounce deck tokens low atm
I think this confirms that we will never see season pass cards in caches again. And that means that the aspect of "making a choice" for tokens is also gone, since you only have to choose between different season pass cards if you want to get them at all. Great design. What was that about a new Pokemon game again?
That would be extremely awful on their part but not really all that surprising. Actions speak for themselves and the acquisition is getting worse not better
The spotlight caches tells you what’s not dropping by showing us what’s in the caches. Which means when the series drop does happen we could get Kitty Pride, Nebula and Modok but think it’s more going to be Hercules, Daken and Snowguard
I got Thena for sure. Will roll for Penny Parker as well, as I don't have Sasquatch, and the Gladiator variant looks great (love the card, even if it's a little power creeped).
I would love to see Spotlight Caches filled with cards that support the new release, so if you save keys to spend 4 at once, you can more easily build a viable deck featuring the new card. Bruce Banner's cache is like that, but Doom 2099's definitely isn't.
I feel like White Widow will still be better and the mutual effect will really hurt the card. Hope Summers is probably better for ramp. There's a delay but you can plan how much energy you want on future turns accordingly.
Experienced players: just broke into series 3. What cards to pick up from the "you get one series 3 card per season" thing if I like to play control? (lane control I call it, storm, several guardians, scarlet witch, that kind of deck. I lucked into negasonic as my first card which works amazingly well in the deck)
I absolutely love these spotlight caches videos! I do however wish you would talk a little bit more about your reflections on what to do if we have the other cards or 1 of the cards that are in the spotlight and how we should think then. You do talk that about that sometimes but often not. That would really help me out since I do have allot of cards but as a f2p player ( except season pass) i gotta limit my Keys and tokens. Either way great jpb producing these videos!
I'm f2p myself, except for the occasional season pass from time to time. My strat is to only open caches if I don't own two of the three cards. Currently sitting on 12k tokens and 23 keys. Been playing since launch but haven't been wasting keys on duplicates. There are some months I don't get any new cards, but it is what it is. Would rather guarantee multiple cards with multiple keys instead of ONE card with multiple keys.
The game has been rough for a while now, I cant remember the last time I feel excited for marvel snap. I just do my dailies and play something else. Ive been playing the old collector dino deck this season, I just chill and honestly dont care anymore lmao. This is better for me coz the more I care about the meta, caches, etc., the more its gonna give me stress and frustration
I feel like there’s a slim chance that Luna Snow is gonna work with Annihilus. Clog them with goblins, energy ramp galactus? Maybe that’s trying to do too much 🤷♂️
Seems like the only new cards I'm prioritizing will be Doom 2099, Gorr and Rocket & Groot. I doubt I'll be able to get Fenris next week with just one key.
If it’s a series 4 card it should also give 700 tokens and if it’s an old series 5 then it should give you like 500 then if you get a card you have it should be 1500 and a random variant
I totally agree - all cashes in December are crap. Looks like I will be saving whole month and first interesting cash to open is in January - Kate Bishop one. Problem is - first expansion in Pokemon hits in December and so is Bazaar open beta. I might put on hold Snap for a while.
So I'm a F2P relatively new player (started in the middle of the Kate Bishop season) and just broke into Series 3 a month after that. I had 2 keys going into the Malekith week, I used one hoping to get Malekith, but I got Thena which, according to Alex, is a very good hit (but I don't have Kitty Pride or most of her synergy cards so she's currently dead and grey in my collection), but at least I got her instead of Valentina, I suppose. I'm going to be trying to get Fenris next week, with my two keys (just got one to replace the one I used on Thena). This acquisition method isn't very... fun, is it? 🤣 At least as a new player, I don't have 98% of the spotlight cards so everything is a shiny new toy.
SD knows what they're doing, instead of the season of giving it's the season of taking, December spotlights should be bangers, a collection of other main spotlights throughout the year cards
I'm totally with you on your takes for all the caches post Fenris. Like it's obvious people are going to be curious about Gorr. Pairing it up with 2, old series 4 cards is so scummy. The following 2 months, things take a turn for the worse even. Every cache is REALLY bad. There's no saving grace in any of them. You would think after so many creators jumped ship and with the competition that is Pokemon Pocket that they'd get their shit together and try to lessen their greed but NOPE. it's actually INCREASED. Hell, data mines have also picked up like 2 to 3 100 dollar series 5 bundles. it's pretty gross
7:12 I'm worried that it wouldn't even work with White Widow.. I think the Widow's Bite will get destroyed immediately while the Ice Cube survives into the next turn.
No season pass cards in the spotlight caches since Hope Summers is CRAZY,where is Baron Zemo,Blink and Gilgamesh?! I guess they removed another thing like they removed the gold from Conquest medal shop...for their own pockets economy.
Bruce Banner RNG needs more elaboration from SD: 1. Does unspent energy while he's in deck/hand gives him a chance to Hulk out? Or does it only considered when he's played on board? 2. If it does happen in hand/deck, I expect Bruce to be a 2/12 Hulk. 25% static RNG is still going to be too unpredictable though. The best rework/reword I hope Bruce to get is : 1. Floating energy only counts when he's played. 2. The chance to Hulk out to stacks higher with each float: 1st float = 25%; 2nd float = 33%; 3rd float=50%; 4th float = 100%. This way, the surefire way to get Hulk is playing Bruce on T3 while floating all turns to T6. Notably, doing so does spend 6 energy on all low roll, making Bruce a 6/12 Hulk on a low roll.
I understand the SD needs a rng in the spotlights as a way to make $. Perhaps a simple a fix is to always have 1 series 5 and 1 series 4 in each cache.
As someone who basically only plays phoenix force, especially to rank, no clue what I’ll spend on lol, whatever seems fun I guess (also, I feel like I never have any tokens, is that just me? I feel like there are never enough of them, I get like one purchase in the token shop every few months)
I think the reason the spotlight sucks it’s because most people who played since the beginning have most cards but for me i dont have most series 4 or series 5 cards its a way to catch up to most people who play a long time ago
One would think they'd want to end the year in a bang but it's kinda a whimper. Doom looks amazing the rest look fine to disappointing. Man they did my poor Luna snow dirty by having her possibly effect the opponent's side also
The fact that you have to use your so limited resource (keys) for a random card that can be a card you already have or a trash card is outrageous, they need to check that ASAP, also series 4 cards should not appear on any Spotlight Caches. Nonsense.
The worst thing about the spotlight caches is when you dont hit any of the cards and get 1000 tokens..... how does that equal a spotlight key? It either should be a variant like it used to be. Or 3000 tokens.
man, i really want Doom2099, the other spot is holding me back. I do want to pull Thena and Maleketh, but I am afraid that i do not have 4 spotlight key next month. Also High Evo is hype, but his Team Up like Bruce Banner are not less exciting…😢 I am pretty new to the game, just reaching 2000 recently, Can you give me some advice.
I think I might just start hoarding keys and hope for a better future instead of trying not to step on the 3 land mines instead of the one card I want.
Man, looks like two whole months of caches where I don't get to roll for a second new card, because these cards have already been in the caches multiple times already! Are they trying to discourage people from sticking with the game?
I’m saving keys in December and using tokens on Parker or maybe Doom 2099. I find it infuriating that they don’t release season pass cards to spotlights on a regular cadence.
They HAVE to do something about the acquisition system. At this point I'm not sure who it works for. It makes new players leave the game as they have a 75% chance to get a much worse card than what they wanted; For returning players who have taken a break, the slowness of earning keys means they have to gamble on getting a meta relevant card; And now I think it's getting too much even for spenders playing since release. You just need to get unlucky one week and you're down to 0 keys without much to show for it except some low effort variants and 1000 tokens that you can't spend on anything since every card is a series 5 6000 cost! With series drops at least there was a clear decision: "do I buy this new card now with tokens or do I wait for 2 months until it becomes free ( / half price)?" With the new system, you have to gamble and engage with the gatcha mechanics designed so that you miss out and decide to spend money to go again. I get that there are other mobile games that are way more predatory, but it would be a big shame if a game with gameplay and balance as good as Snap dies because the developers are unwilling to fix their terrible monetisation.
His point is valid. That being said his star rating system is pure nonsense. Never Ever use your limited resources for "meta" choices. The meta changes weekly at a minimum, sometimes even faster thanks to the OTA updates. This means any system based how meta relevant a card is will not be reliable.
I know I'm full of copium but if the ice cubes are 1 costs then psylock turn 2 and then Luna + Electra Man these caches are rough, I'm honestly surprised they got so many variants for these niche characters
I think Series 4 should NEVER be in a spotlight now at this point.
Yeah it's a joke
SD will just make every card series 5 than 😒
That's not a bad idea! Really it's a very good idea. In fact it's incredible and should be made into law! I'm calling my local government office!
You are correct; especially since there are almost 3 times as many series 5 cards as series 4.
@@cliffordadam100 They already are doing that...
Thank you Alex! I completely agree with you on the spotlights. They put one good card in with 2 garbage cards or a card they have put in like 3 times already. There are so many other cards that haven't been on the spotlights in forever! Garbage like this stops me from spending completely.
Im always hoping that they'll hear the feedback and improve the caches to give players a reason to roll
Fr plus tokens are so rare too they’re not even really a viable option to obtain cards

@@revan3970 It makes no sense. Where are the other Eternals?
This is what i got:
X-23 has been 6 times in spotlights
High Evo 5
With 4 appearances are: Jean Grey, Knull, Legion, Thanos, M.O.D.O.K, Ghost Spder, Silk, Jeff, Man-Thing, Blob, Lady Deathstrike, Gladiator and Ravonna
With 3 appearances are: Tribunal, Echo, Iron Lad, Darkhawk, MIrage, Galactus, Nimrod, Spider Ham, Nebula, Silver Samurai, Kitty, Alioth, Zabu, Mobius, Black Knight, Nico Minoru, Phoenix Force, Werewolf by Night, Annihilus, Havok, Selene, Miek and Hit-Monkey
With 2 appearances are: Kang, Stature, Spiderman 2099, Snowguard, Daken, Caiera, Hercules, GrandMaster, Beta Ray Bill, Elsa Bloodstone, SuperGiant, Cull Obsidian, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Pixie, Mockingbird, Cannonball, Ms Marvel, War Machine, Red Hulk, Red Guardian, USAgent, Sebastian Shaw, White Widow, Valentina, Sage, Namora, Skaar, Copycat, Thena and Sasquatch
A card i don't understand why it hasn't come out yet for the second time. And does not even have a variant:
NOCTURNE
Cards that could be in for just the FIRST or SECOND time instead of S4 Legion, Havok, Miek, Gladiator, Ravonna, Selene. Or High Evo for the 5th time and X-23 for the crazy 6th time:
Ajax, Arishem, Baron Zemo, Blink, Gilgamesh, Gwenpool, Hope Summers, Hawkeye Kate Bishop, Sersi, Speed and Wiccan
Theyre doing a TERRIBLE work with the spotlights. Its beyond infuriating!
Thanks for making the effort!
@JulieBoyer I was shocked when i saw X-23 another fu.... time so i have to check for her and i ended it up checking all
Doing the Lord's work.
You don't have an extra 10 bucks a month? Maybe you have bigger problems than a mobile card game.
I appreciate the genuine take on the spotlights, the deliberate ass S4 cards in them is ridiculous
Love your work. Thanks for being so honest.
This comment literally brought a tear to my eye 🙏
Fenris "kill the board" combo. Put down Fenris T2-5. Get Destroyer, Viper, Sif in your hand. T6: Use Lady Sif on Destroyer, Viper the Fenris, activate Fenris, end turn.
Fenris will jump over, his activate will trigger on the opponent side and bring back Destroyer on the opponent's side. This should work just like how Hellcow's activate discards from the opponent's hand if Viper'd. That alone makes Fenris worth it.
Crazy combo. Thanks Satan. Lol
Crazy copium
Out of all the upcoming spotlight weeks we have, only 5 of the cards are ones I'm missing. Even though I'm missing 24 in my collection 😪
I hear you. I'm series 4 complete
Because that's a great card that SURELY someone still needs it.. right?
So basically each spotlight has 1 good card and 2 "landmines"
Yep
Under rating valentina considering her archetype is getting a ton of new support in january tbh.
The thing is, Havok and Legion are legit good cards, BUT, having them in spotlights is a joke and a half.
3 landmines.
1 card, 3 pieces of coal. Happy Holidays.
You're absolutely right about the caches being garbage. I am missing more than 20 series 4 and 5 cards and somehow I have 2 of the cards in almost all these caches.
I hear ya man, the spotlights have been frustrating lately. It needs some spice
Love you Alex, you are one of the main reasons I still play but where in the world are Blink, Zemo, Gilgamesh, and Gwenpool?
As someone who doesn't have Annihilus or WWBN, I'm going all in on Fenris's week.
We are seeing that on occasion, true!
The fact the spotlight variants that are supposedly worth 2400g look so generic or plain ugly imo just makes using spotlight keys on weak months that much worse.
Yeah, I'm not happy they're putting Ryan Kinnaird variants into Spotlights. These are 700g variants at best.
SD is pushing for last sales before they become free. its totally irrelevant for those series 4 to be there.
thanks for keeping it real alex, i feel like most creators avoid talking about snap issues, but atleast you are not afraid
So this is what "improving card aquisition" looks like? 😂
I took a 2 month break and I've been playing catch up ever since. I missed the Eternals and Cassandra Novo event. Slowly but surely I'm getting them😅
Can't recommend breaks unfortunately especially if you care about collections. I feel impossibly far behind at this point.
Seems like second dinner loves losing players every month
It's mostly free to play players that leave anyways. They literally do nothing to support the game.
@@kaijubutter4480 what rubbish they lost half the income they made a year ago
Man, how much I've waited for another one of these videos. Really missed them.❤
Mailbag Question: (just kidding 👻)
As a constant season pass byuer,
I can only go for spotlights
when im missing more than one card.
If I would start today,
I would recognize that card acquisition is hard even for veteran players.
Now it's time to stratagize my precious resources
Same. I even want Makkari because I want to collect the Eternals. Thena is the only one in a cache since their release in June 😂
man i feel like F2P is literally unplayable in this game
Alex is the most real marvel snap TH-cam always go here and cozy for info
Can we also talk about how these are also supposed to be the coolest variants for cards and then they give us art for Zabu and Wearwolf by Night that looks like a 3rd grader drew them.
Thank you for your rant. Hopefully the devs will listen to you. It gets really frustrating to keep getting robbed to keep up with the game
yeah marvel snap sapotlight caches are terriable they put 2 series 4 cards which are trash or not perfoming well while puting a decentish seriers 5 card in there is too much RNG involved feel like they do this on purpose hope this system gets better no wait they prefer selling variants rather altho i need hitmonkey for my bounce deck tokens low atm
They should have seires 4 cards in the collecters reserves.they usually aren't good and not something people are excited for
I would love to see Spotlight Caches filled with cards that support the new release, so if you save keys to spend 4 at once, you can more easily build a viable deck featuring the new card. Bruce Banner's cache is like that, but Doom 2099's definitely isn't.
Love this monthly series. More of the fine content Alex has spoiled us with❤ Everytime Alex posts, is a great time to be a snap player.
Luna snow may be used as a replacement in junk for white widow
I feel like White Widow will still be better and the mutual effect will really hurt the card. Hope Summers is probably better for ramp. There's a delay but you can plan how much energy you want on future turns accordingly.
Experienced players: just broke into series 3. What cards to pick up from the "you get one series 3 card per season" thing if I like to play control?
(lane control I call it, storm, several guardians, scarlet witch, that kind of deck. I lucked into negasonic as my first card which works amazingly well in the deck)
I pulled on this week and will be saving for a while.
Maybe that’s trying to do too much 🤷♂️
One of the most brutal spotlight cache ive ever seen and u know atleast one key is going to be a 2nd copy of a series 3 card u already have
Seems like the only new cards I'm prioritizing will be Doom 2099, Gorr and Rocket & Groot. I doubt I'll be able to get Fenris next week with just one key.
If it’s a series 4 card it should also give 700 tokens and if it’s an old series 5 then it should give you like 500 then if you get a card you have it should be 1500 and a random variant
Cozy brought up an interesting idea. What if the doombots 2099 also buff the OG Doom and bots?
Thanks as always for another amazing video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Appreciate the love! 🙏
Do you think this schedule is indicative of what's definitely not getting a series drop or are they jebaiting us with placeholders?
Bruce Banner RNG needs more elaboration from SD:
1. Does unspent energy while he's in deck/hand gives him a chance to Hulk out? Or does it only considered when he's played on board?
2. If it does happen in hand/deck, I expect Bruce to be a 2/12 Hulk. 25% static RNG is still going to be too unpredictable though.
The best rework/reword I hope Bruce to get is :
He isn't ongoing so it's only on the field.
Nonsense.
4 Thanos pulls in. The 1000 tokens is pathetic too. Token should equal the card series
Epic content and feedback as always!
Take Series 4 out of spotlight caches and add them to the shop if it's going to be S5 going forward for new cards.
This is the video I need. Thanks Alex
Also High Evo is hype, but his Team Up like Bruce Banner are not less exciting…😢
I am pretty new to the game, just reaching 2000 recently, Can you give me some advice.
Don’t worry Alex, we’ve been over spotlight caches since around the 2nd week of them coming out 🤷🏻♂️ at least I can save some keys I guess
I think I might just start hoarding keys and hope for a better future instead of trying not to step on the 3 land mines instead of the one card I want.
Hey Alex new player here can you put the effect of all the cards on screen not just new one :) ? I have to go look what they do lol
Would be nice to unlock cards by upgrading :) So cool that they changed that :)
They HAVE to do something about the acquisition system. At this point I'm not sure who it works for.
It makes new players leave the game as they have a 75% chance to get a much worse card than what they wanted;
For returning players who have taken a break, the slowness of earning keys means they have to gamble on getting a meta relevant card;
And now I think it's getting too much even for spenders playing since release.
I am skippig the whole December spotlight caches... Excited for Jan
I rolled for Thena got Val 😢
I've decided I'm just gonna wait till December season.
What's funny is that i don't have many s4 cards because i use my tokens for s5 so at least i dont have to spend half a s5 to get lds for example
His point is valid. That being said his star rating system is pure nonsense. Never Ever use your limited resources for "meta" choices. The meta changes weekly at a minimum, sometimes even faster thanks to the OTA updates. This means any system based how meta relevant a card is will not be reliable.
Luna Snow + Elektra on turn 4 gonna be the new tech just watch
Wow I got the notification for this video at the exact moment I clicked on it 🎉
Can Agony merge with Peni Parker and trigger her effect immediately?
I know I'm full of copium but if the ice cubes are 1 costs then psylock turn 2 and then Luna + Electra
Man these caches are rough, I'm honestly surprised they got so many variants for these niche characters
Werewolf is such a great card, but that spotlight variant is just not good. Still gonna go for Fenris, I think. Won’t be mad if I get Annihilus.
PREACH ALEX🗣️
If the datamine is to be believed I suppose you know the cards NOT being series dropped in december - cause wouldnt that be a kick in the nuts
I am missing so many cards, but have almost everything that is in the spotlight caches...
