After almost two years of Genshin Impact, I finally summoned for Xiao and his weapon. Maxing him out opened my eyes to his damage, but there is still one problem...

Xiao doesnt generate particles while in his burst..so u generally want to use his elemental skill before using his burst :)

@@guibuni6926 That's not him generating particles. There's two possible explanations. Aside from enemies dying, you can get particles/orbs from 1) reaching enemy HP thresholds (in other words, simply damaging them) and 2) favonius lance procs if you're running that weapon on Xiao.

His jump doesn’t nauseate me if you focus on the ground. When you play using a keyboard and mouse it feels like you are playing an actual game, cause his plunge has great sound effects and gives you some sense of feedback. Most DPS have silent Bursts which makes it pretty bland on PC with a mouse …
Or just focus on the red arrow that indicates enemy's position. If you get used to it, it can help your positioning

@@shashankchaudhary4760 suffering from it is one thing and feeling it is another. Every player complains that they don’t use Xiao due to motion sickness. But not all of them have motion sickness, it’s not a widespread condition … If you spin around in circles you can’t say you have motion sickness, it’s just that you are getting dizzy for few seconds, if you look somewhere else you won’t feel dizzy …
My personal recommendation is to aim your camera down when you jump with Xiao. It lets you target enemies better and also helps with the dizziness/motion sickness
Yeah, I think I've been doing that subconsciously cause I've never gotten motion sick from playing him before, but this video definitely did make me motion sick.
You can keep Sucrose as TTDS buffer and battery since her E generates a lot of particles. You can do 2 dashes with Xiao then funnel the energy. 13:34 thats his karma getting into you tho

Making statements on who is fun or who is not is very immature and narrow-minded thing to do. So basically that's why i consider such ppl nerds
Cool little tip with Xiao- it doesn't matter how high in the air you are, if you do a plunging attack you won't take any damage!
You can jump from the jade palace without a scratch as an example :)

It's probably common knowledge to a lot of people like you and me, but there are still some who probably just found out through my comment.

you can do that with every character if you start the plunge right before you hit the ground. Fall damage is nonexistant unless you get knocked back by an enemy and fall off a cliff
Xiao was my first 5 star in the game when his re run banner came out a couple of months ago. His burst is really helpful for a majority of bosses. When i was a lower AR he made fighting ruin guards much easier. I am working on getting all the materials for his last crown.
Xiao was the first banner on which I lost a 50/50 on his original banner and finally got him in his first rerun winning the 50/50 this time around. I already had his Signature weapon maxed out on my Hu Tao and immediately moved it to him. I initially ran 2 pcs of glad and verdiscent but today I finally got a good 4 th piece for his set so I switched to that on him. Now he has pretty much surpassed even my Ayaka when it comes to his raw numbers during his burst. My crit rate to damage numbers is almost same as what Mtashed’s build.
I got him on his first banner & I'm still farming for his new set & Ayato's. However it's going to be very hard to replace what I've got on him now. 2pc VV & 2pc Glad with 227/86, 131ER & 2,450atk. He's C1 with R2 PJWS. He's my favorite so I had to brag a little, sorry.

Same here I also got him on his first rerun and I was new I was ar 27 and I was very happy and one week ago I crowned him and about after two to three weeks I'll triple crown him
xiao is definitely a character that you have to get used to, i also suggest to keep your eyes on the ground when plunging so it doesn't feel as nauseating to look at
I suggest zooming out, and sitting slightly further away from the screen
I have no motion sickness issues with xiao, so im not qualified to help, but i think the reason i dont get motion sickness is bc of those 2 things

Be a super softhearted gal like me and rarely use his Burst XD Knowing it hurts him in actual story makes me not wanna use it.
Just remember that while you're in his burst mode his skill will not generate any energy, so you usually would want to do double e and the q and then not touch e until his burst expires
Xiao has always been my strongest DPS. In 1.3 I got 4 Xiao copies with 40 pulls and used the primos I had saved for C1 to get the jade spear instead. In 1.5 I got a second jade spear, so now I have a C3 R2 Xiao. His stats are: 2.5k attack without buffs, 93% crit rate, 184% crit damage (2 pc glad 2 pc viridescent). I run him with Albedo, Zhongli and Jean, and his plunges deal 45k-54k dmg depending on the active buffs. I don't usually have bennett on his team since his ER is really low, but when i use double geo + bennett I get up to 80k dmg per plunge.
To sum it up, I love this man :D

My recommendations as a Xiao main since 1.3
- If you have the Primordial Spear then you're all set for a good C0 Xiao
- The motion sickness is inevitable for some players but most Xiao mains can cope with it
- The vermillion set is really ideal for him as burst dps than 2 pc atk sets or 2 pc vv with atk sets
- Aim atleast 75/200 ratio with the vermillion set (good luck with that)
- When upgrading talents crown both his NA and Burst and retain his Skill to lvl 9
- Ideal supports are healers and shielders for he is a squishy little boy.
- The supports you should use are Bennett, Jean, Sucrose with TTDS, Yelan, Zhongli and Albedo for geo, and in some teams even Mona, sadly there are not any good anemo shredding characters for him, using anemo traveller as then anemo shredder isn't really ideal
- Equipped with those information above you can now easily reach a raw anemo dmg of 60k a plunge with the proper units
- When rotating and using burst, use his elemental skills first before using his burst to generate particles because he can't generate them when in burst and ideally use an anemo character first then his skills towards using burst
- To optimize burst dmg, there is a tech wherein you slide in a NA and quickly tap in a jump to get more plunges in quickly and thus more dps
That's about it. Not a recommendation, putting my personal biases in I think he is a really fun character to play and since he doesn't depend on reactions to do good dps makes him a really solid unit. HIs burst is nice to look at and is aoe, not ideal for single target bosses but can still compete and get the job done. Personality is okay and his design is slick too, asides being a yaksha, you can completely understand as to why this character is an emo now because of the 2.7 archon quest by losing his loved ones. So yeah great unit and fairly rated, hope you have fun Tashman.
I think Venti (cons) is the only character so far that does Anemo shred, but let’s be real, no one is pulling Venti cons for Xiao support.
C6 anemo traveller gives anemo + elemental infusion res shred with their burst
Actually traveler can shred anemo res by 20%. And I've tested that multiple times in the past, and I've gotta say 20% Res alone isn't good. I'm talking about Xiao here with anemo res, not other elemental res shred. Yes, Res shred is good, because EM also benefits from res shred. But not for Xiao, he is a raw Anemo dmg dealer. 20% anemo res doesn't boost Xiao as much as you think with other elements that benefits from res shredding. I've actually never seen 20% anemo shred of traveler that gives 5k dmg increase to xiao.
I've actually tested just now, there's little to none in difference between 20% shred and 25% atk for Xiao.

xiao + 2 pyro for 25% atk, pyro resonance only buff
30k running r1 90 lithic 2 pc glads, 2506 atk, 71/172
xiao + traveler (20% shred) no pyro resonance dealing
31k r1 90 lithic 2pc glads, 2282 atk, 71/172
xiao without buff
27k r1 90 lithic 2 pc glads, 2282 atk, 71,172 -no other liyue based chars in team-.
And YES, I HIGHLY AGREE THAT XIAO SHOULD, SHOULD!! HAVE 75 CR. 50 IS HELL, 60 IS HELL. Don't be blinded by CDMG if you're using Xiao, crit-ing more often is by far better.
Man if there is liyue based anemo character -except for xiao- and bennett based in liyue, Lithic would be 4star BiS for xiao. I personally think right now Lithic is BiS for Xiao. Dealing 32k very first plunge vs 20-25k deathmatch/ and probably blackcliff -not benefitting xiao's passive-.
Full team liyue r1 90 lithic xiao with 2pc glads, 2695 atk 80/172 -no buffs, except pyro resonance-. Considering the fact that I've tested this with 2pc glad only because i don't have good VV, and i don't want to waste resin to farm full set VH.
I've used Deathmatch for Xiao before, solo Xiao is around 20k with 2glads/2vv. Idk about blackcliff, i don't have one. And that is just quite similar to deathmatch having cr/cdmg the only difference.
TL:DR If they make a new character that can reduce 20% res. It wouldn't be as good as you might think unless It is a Catalyst -that can benefit from TTDS-, a geo or pyro character -that can access Enduring Rock and Fervent Flames respectively-, A passive or a skill that adds an additional buff. if that said character have shield it is viable, or rather good if you don't have Zhongli or any other good shielder.
I have a vid with my xiao dealing 50k-60k+ plunge full rotation -although not as efficient in abyss because it's full offense no defense- check out my vid it's "My Lithic spear Xiao 1.2"
The team is Xiao, yelan, yanfei, bennett using R1 90 Lithic and here's the thing. I don't have good 2VV or 4 VH, if you notice in the vid, my xiao is using 2 pc glads and 2 pc wanderer's troupe. bennet is using fav sword 90 talent 9. So yes, I could totally agree that Xiao well built can reach 60k plunge.
Do I need a two piece VV on him? I only have the two pieces and I feel like Kazuha needs them more? I don’t have sucrose or Jean so I use Kazuha and electro Traveller to recharge Xiao.
As a xiao main I'm happy to see mtash play xiao and he's my first 5 star and his gameplay is really the best since his 1st release :)

Lol, half of the time he was only doing low-plunge dmg in abyss. But as he plays he'll get the hang of at what height to plunge from.
Edit: 9:57 You don't have to attack in between just to get his weapon stacks. And if you play him like he's supposed to be(you did pretty good too so no worries but can be better), you don't have to worry about losing stacks as it has a 6s timer. And it can refresh every 0.3s, For single target, there's a N1C1P mechanic. For AOE, just attack a few times(7-8) until you hear a sound and a flash from his weapon indicating its staked up, before using his burst. And use all his E skill right before activating his burst. And one more thing for the stack for weapon, it counts everything like auto, charged attack, plunge, E skill as attack so you won't lose any stack.
Fun fact: xiao's madness was healed by venti's flute song.

xiao is soo good because he doesnt really need anybody to see his dmg. Unlike hutao where she needs a hydro support to fully utilize her dmg. For xiao, all u need is a battery and 7 normal atks for your plunge to be 40k+ dmg.

A high invested Xiao with Benny and Zhongli can hit anywhere from 60k-80k. Vermillion obviously being better than 2 VV + Glad, both hit similar numbers. I have 2 VV + Glad and 4 Vermillion so regardless of what you use he’ll hit HARD. This is assuming his autos and burst are crowned. This is my experience with my own Xiao and also some other high invested Xiaos such as Zy0x’s Xiao.
It would be higher,check Haise's Xiao.
Quick tipp: before use his e you should jump. When his dash is over you can make a plunge attack to do more dmg. It's a little bit tricky to find the right distance before use e but then it increases your dmg definetly!
it's a dps loss, not worth doing a white number plunge atk and wasting that time when you could have been batterying or just prefunneling into Q
As someone who double crowned xiao and got him his new set with staff of homa he’s beautiful. I use him with zhongli albedo and Bennett since mine has good enough er to not need sucrose

I’ve found that diona fits him well for a healer role if you can’t use Bennett for his team. Shields, speed boost and healing all give xiao some nice survivability, and she doesn’t take up much field time. If you use fav bow you can also funnel more particles to xiao if needed, though sucrose is still pretty good with TTODS already. I think albedo is usually in the other spot for me, although any general sub dps is good to help out when xiao is off burst.
Yeah, Diona really goes well with Xiao, I've been using Xiao, Sucrose, Diona and Barbara C6 (let's me be a bit Yolo every 15 minutes lol)

a tip on playing itto , you always wants a shield to be on him while you playing him for geo resonance , zhongli can be the best option but you can also get shields from crystalize shields so you need the 4th character to be sub DPS
His itto and gorou is also on low investment, that damage was dogshit lmao.

I think having around 140% er on C0 Xiao is really good. I had him on 130% but sacrificing some Crit DMG on feather for more ER substats really helped me with getting his burst. Plus if you have a 5* weapon for him it really doesn't matter too much because he'll still do really good damage

When you jump with xiao in his burst, don't pluge at the peak of the jump, more like the 3/4 beacuse u waste time and damaga otherwise
Ive been using Xiao for a over year and heres a tip to help with his nausiating burst -
Eagles eye view, i have him at c6 and it helps so much when plunging and dashing. You can dodge and overall see better without the camera flying up and down to keep up with Xiao's ability lol.

Long time xiao main here if you have 30+ preferred sub stats on the glad and the other ark or anemo dmg set it's not worth to get the new full set it's like 5%-10% increase

You said you were doing 50k SOLO plunges, meaning Xiao being the only party member? I doubt you can output 50k of raw anemo damage
I play with Xiao and venti together a lot. Xiao can still do his plunge when his skill is charging thanks to Venti’s skill.
Fun fact on jade spear: the stacks seem to refresh whenever you get a new stack but because the text never states this you need to test it out on your own.

1st Xiao banner: Got an early Ganyu and it was better to just save primogems for Hu Tao
1st Xiao rerun: Got Shenhe and stopped playing Genshin for a couple of months
2nd Xiao rerun: Got Yelan and her weapon and I don't have any primogems left haha

When I play him I usually focus the camera on ground so that I don''t get disoriented and I can see where the enemies end after the knockback from the plunge. If you're watching it from above it's less confusing.
As far as i know xiao does not regen his energy for the whole duration of his burst. Maybe better to use his E when the burst is about to end
for the motion sickness, try angling the camera so you can see the ground, it really does help alot
If he learns Xiao's secret on plunge, the rest are history.

As a xiao main here's my suggestion: the main team is xiao, zhongli, Bennett, sucrose(on er )
Attack as plunge and charge (repeat).
His E could be left at 8 np there.
Edit: his charge atks if done properly can animation cancel a few frames and make you jump higher.
xiao bennett sucrose is pretty much needed but you can sub zhongli for alot of chars yelan, raiden, albedo, klee for pyro res and def shred, diona. zhong probably the best option

i suggest you use him with Anemo Traveller, but only if you don't have Jean C4, that if i'm not mistaken, is the one that shreds anemo resistance of enemies, MC anemo shred is lower than hers, but his cons are free, but since he would take Sucrose place as the anemo battery, the team i suggest would be Xiao, MC anemo, Tankfei with TToDS, and Bennet, first, you hold MC skill to generate more particles, if you have favonius sword would be good even with low crit rate, since his skill hits multiple times, there's multiple chances of triggering the sword passive, then you use his burst to shred the anemo ressistance of the enemies it cames to contact, then you use Bennet burst (if you're fighting small mobs that gets dragged by MC burst, dash twice following the hurricane to get arround where it ends before using Benny burst), then you switch to Tankfei and use her skill and burst, then switch to Xiao, my Xiao if not perfectly build, and i don't have Jade spear, i'm using the blackcliff pole, and with this setup i can hit arround 49~55k per plunge, and the thing is, i'm not even an Xiao main, i'm an Noelle main, but since i'm having difficulty on Abyss because i don't have 2 teams properlly builded, i was building and testing Xiao, since i got him on his first rerun and never used
I'd forgotten the pain of not having Zhongli with Xiao. Bringing back some bad flashbacks..
With xiao you want to face your camera downwards so you can see specifically where your hits are landing, this will also help with the nausea
xiao is my favourite love his lore, his design and his chinese VA is the most soft spoken and nice sounding to me lol.. i agree though his burst is incredibly disorienting :/ i was a little disappointed when i first started playing him because i thought it would be too much but i definitely got used to it now that i've had him for two weeks. i try to use his skill as much as possible even during his burst (is that good thing? i just like jumping high and hitting ruin guards right in their weak spot lol) unfortunately i don't hv any good supports for him (no benny sucrose or even diona..) but i'm still on AR35 so i've got time
Xiao doesn't generate any energy during his burst, so if you struggle to get his burst back, you can do 2 E's and right after that activate his burst.
As someone who used to play machine gun amber, I really like xiao playstyle
a great team for Xiao is double anemo double geo. Xiao + sucrose/jean for particles, albedo for passive damage every plunge and Zhongli/Noelle for a shield (cause Xiao's pretty quickly interupted)

you can do geo traveler, albedo, and anemo battery for xiao team.
Triple crown xiao main here and yes, his burst can give motion sickness but it's so much better if you aim at the ground and don't focus on him actually jumping but rather on the enemies. After some time, you just learn to do it on automatic and it just comes naturally! It's all about getting used to the playstyle enough ^^
Wait, when did mtashed got xiao?? Oh, is this on his 2nd account? Makes sense. My xiao team consist of xiao, traveller c6, bennett and thoma c6 and I'm dealing about 70k per plunge when using the full team buff

Thoma C6 is secret Xiao tech, great pairing with Bennet.

@@NoahSSP i think calamity queller is his 3rd best weapon after pjws and homa i use it on him and his damage is pretty good
@@razororder9493 the problem with queller is that it has way too much atk, to the point that even if I add more atk buff it just provides diminished returns. to properly utilize queller I will need a double geo team with C4 Jean :') atk buffs are kinda worthless for queller :') if I had pjws then the crit ratio would have been better and also I could have taken atk buffs.

While using his plunge atk focus ur camera on ground so screen won't shake it will only xiao moves like u seeing the game form above

you could always also try some funky national comp like xiao+yelan+xiangling+bennett and just normal attack in xiao's burst

You can set your default camera distance higher in settings more zoomed out to avoid motion sickness or just charged attack instead of jumping You can also just do c1 p c1 p

my go to team for xiao is Xiao, Zhongli for shield and res shred, Jean for heals/ she can be replaced with sucrose with TTDS for particles and buff and finally geo traveller for the resonance if you have albedo it will be better. In the rotation with sucrose having TTDS just use sucrose right before switching to Xiao for the most particle accumulation and TTDS buff

definitely use 2 anemo set and any 2 attack set or the new set for Xiao. it would definitely work best for him. he is fun to play and i understand the motion sickness. I don't get that when I play with him but everyone is different. Have fun building your new Xiao, Mtashed!

Just how fast the night, changes ~
If you want to be as optimal as possible with xiao then you should use his e 2x before using his burst so you can catch the energy, low plunges are always better than high plunges (because you can do more of them) and the most optimal things to do during his burst is (for aoe situation - only doing low plunges) (for single target - doing a charged atk and then a low plunge)
You're missing out on 60% damage ok
Electro Traveler + Xiao + Bennett + Zhong Li is pretty good. You just use Travelers E before you use Xiao's 2 E's. Then Travelers Q before Xiao's Q. And your energy problems will be solved.
what they need to do for xiao is zoom the camera out when he ults so his constant plunge doesnt have the camera going everywhere
The trick not to get sick is to look from above. I get motion sickness easily, But since I started looking from above when plunging never got sick. Been playing him since his first banner.
The new set for xiao hits hard! Probably better than two attack or one attack one anemo artifact. I used to deal like 40k and just staying 40k and the new set deals around 50-60k sometimes even 70 because of the buff of the set.
Btw. in 15 sec of his burst you can jump up to 14 times (low jumps). For my Xiao (f2p C1) with Bennet and no buffs like pyro resonance, Sucrose, food, etc. each jump is around 60K. Over 350 days of playing him and I wasn't bored even once :)
Obviously switching the teams around makes Xiao look better because his AoE is bigger for that specific chamber, but if you group the enemies for Itto he's actually better than Xiao damage wise. Not by much, they're verryyyy similar in DPS. Xiao is better in bigger AoE content with a lot of waves tho, that's when Itto can't keep up. So I'd put them on the same level.
they both have pure damage for their respective elements, which is what makes them cool but also holds them back.
Some Xiao team options that I know about:
Xiao, Zhongli, Jean (c2 preferably) / Bennett, and Albedo.
Xiao, sucrose with ttds, Zhongli and SECOND GEO.
I love Xiao so much. I run him with Bennett, Zhongli and Kazuha. And yes, my Bennett is C6. No regrets here. I have no physical dps' and it's no loss for me because i can change Xiao's auto attacks to pyro dmg for abyss herald shields. I do the same with chongyun on team too. Xiao was my first easy triple crown. But it'd definitely angle the camera down when you start plunging until you can possibly get used to his jumping. It gave me a bit of nausea when I first started playing him too, but Im used to it now. I've played him so long. I haven't swapped him out of my main exploration team since I first got him on first release until Ayato came out recently.

did not watch her teaser or tease. but the leake i saw was c6 so when i saw c0. hey was so anticlimactic. i was torn between insane dps wiafu or emo boy i been saving. then rez lapis can in dream and said pull ganyu. i woke up at 4am. looked around , no morax to be see bppt up genshin get ganyu. and rest is history. i gave the flowers to her and animo cube drops to jean. black cliff spear to xiannling 2 of the vv to venti 2 of the glad to fishcel. n finally this week, i gave the flower talen books to yelan
I managed to max out my Xiao (I got him during his first rerun) thanks to farming Echoes for Ayato but ending up with a good Vermillion set and I’ve been using him more in the Abyss. He gives a spike of adrenaline when you use his burst and his current involvement with the latest quest definitely made me like him more.
This is me with Yoimiya. Hadn't touched her since accidentally pulling but i had leftover shim artifacts and now she's got an 82/222 crit ratio. And she's hitting vape normal attacks for 45k no other character buffs.

The jumping def took me some acclamation b4 not feeling weird when using it. Was disorienting at first, but after a while I just got used to it. I've had him for a bit, but I recently just did a rework on the kit I had for him was pretty fun.
quick tip for xiao you can use a normal after landing which makes you jump faster

edit: btw if you use xiao against single target enemy like boss/single ruin guard,its better if you plunge then charged att then repeat than using normal att after plunge.. and don’t use E mid ult because you won’t get particle,use E before you ult then you’ll probably get your burst back even you don’t have ER..about the motion sickness,turn your camera a little bit down when jumping to reduce the sickness,that works for me personally

Maxing Xiao out makes me so happy. I got stupid lucky with weapons banner pulls (how the hell I managed to get FIVE five star weapons in 60 pulls I will never know). So now he is triple crowned C6 with an R5 best in slot weapon. I find his play style a ton of fun and just absolutely loved him since day one.
Edit: trust me you want Energy Recharge on him. Or a healer battery like Jean who also does damage. 40-70k damage is pretty good in general. That’s the range you want to be in.
I often play him in a team with Jean, Kazuha, and rotate that last slot to fit needs of the dungeon but often Zhongli. Everything just dies man. It’s beautiful.
Xiao is so fun to play, and yeah, Yelan is a great support for him because he compliments his massive aoe with her single target damage, and unlike xingqiu, you can basically jump cancel your normal attack and her exquisite throw will still proc, unlike the rain swords, so yeah, i for one love doing CAs inbetween his plunges, because its a massive single target dps increase, but yeah
