I'm from yemen and we only found out about this from this documentary, it's only in very certain areas, and its secret, and the owners have connections to the government.
The USA force is like the rest of the world to have only governments that they want.
If you watch this video closely you would know that the people don't know anything about that.

After the freed salves were delivered in 40:10; One of the brother said "We'll never be apart again." 41:38 The oldest brother said "the important thing is that we're together". 41:43 he requested "Can you take a photo so we can remember this moment?" Then he smiled. I saw the radiance of true happiness, hope, and freedom on his face. That is the "face of FREEDOM". My tears flowed as river. Thank God for these brave journalists have risked their lives to free these very unfortunate men, known as slaves.

Just wanted to verify for the non-Arabic speakers that the subtitles are actually solid and on-point. I’m actually actively looking for something to complain about (in terms of subtitles and translations) and after watching 20+ al jazerra videos I’m pleasantly surprised and happy to report that the subtitles and translations are accurate. My motivation is simply a result of watching videos with subtitles in other languages and wishing someone in the comments would remark about the subtitles in a video.

Al Jazeera World - Slavery in Yemen program is a good effort to highlight this issue. In third world poor countries this issue may exist in one form or the other due to poverty, illiteracy, etc. Children can be seen working in shops and hotels in market area, in some places. The harsh truth is that human life is very cheap and unprotected in some societies.

Ten Slider I agree one hundred percent with you! Very good answer! The nature, really doesn't know anything about equality or inequality; only the human mind has the ability to label and judge this way. So, "smarter" or ''weak in the head" and so on, they are just labels that promote the division among people. Thereof starts out the whole suffering..

    • @givebirthathome9806
      @givebirthathome9806 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

+striving MuSliMaH We all go through a period in youth where we need to 'lose faith' in humanity---that is after all, why we have religions, because these bad places are where we naturally go (at least in our corrupting times) when we don't *truly* follow good guidance to be balanced and compassionate in the deepest sense--striving, as you name yourself.
It is disheartening to see people being callous to one another. Our faith has to be in the possibility to reach the mercy and benevolence to work with them and do what we can to see good conditions for the people around us (and ourselves). Sometimes we have to face and challenge common wrong religious interpretations to do so.

+Freddie Mukendi 1500 years ago every race, religion had slaves. heck 150 years ago almost everyone in america had slaves. Ephesians 6:5-8 KJV
      servants are slaves btw
in the colonization of usa most Southerners were Christians and had black slaves
Slavery was the bedrock of the Roman and world economy. Some estimate that the slave population in the 1st century constituted approximately one third of the total population. An estimated one million slaves were owned by the richest five per cent of Roman citizens. Romans in the 1st century were Catholics.

There is only one reason slavery is an embarrassment to the government and that is because the accept it and cover it up. If the government took a stance against slavery no one would look down on the government. Even if their only response was an official stance against it and slowing the legal process to by enforcing the law whenever an owner is exposed, that would cost minimal money and would still have people respecting the government on this issue but imagine the great press if they took a proactive roll in freeing slaves. They would win approval rates all over the world and internally

why cant everyone just be happy that there was some happiness out,of this story? no matter how bitter it may be, accusing and blaming each other wont do anything about it and throwing around the blame is useless, so stop.
i dont usually cry but i did in these forty minutes. first because i was saddened and it weighed so heavily,on my heart i practically sobbed for 10 minutes. in all my life, i have never as grateful as i do now. to be born free. how lightly we take the most valuble thing some of us are only fortunate to have or might never have in their. my heart went out to the people living those kind of lives and i think it changed my perspective of the world. i however think it should be something that brings us together, the compassion we felt should be what we share with each other. not blame. lets spread love around for once and be happy that three men are right now very happily enjoying a freedom that had been elusive to them and mere good fortune for the most of the world.

    Lets Pray for these humans.
Pray in what ever faith you have.
Heavenly Father, send your army of Angels to destroy any weapons these evil humans have.
Send your healing light into the hearts of the ones who are suffering and need your comfort and shelter more then ever.
Send your messengers on earth and peackeepers and guide and protect them to feed and provide water and medicine for all who are need.
Protect these people who are harming their own brothers and sisters.
Please Lord have mercy and grace and stop the suffering these people have endured.
We praise you and glorify you.
    AMEN.

This was in the prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) final sermon: "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves." What these Yemenis are doing is not part of Islam and is strictly forbidden. Sad that things like this still happen today...

    In the Quran :
    090:008-13
"Have We not made for him two eyes? and a tongue and two lips? and shown him the two ways / paths? BUT HE HAS NOT ATTEMPTED THE STEEP PATH - THE ASCENT. And what can make you know what the steep path / ascent is? (It is) FREEING A SLAVE"
    002:177
It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East or the West but righteousness (is he) who believes in God and the Last Day, and the Angels and the Book and the Prophets and gives wealth despite of his love for it to those of near relatives and the orphans and the needy and of the wayfarer and those who ask and in FREEING THE SLAVES and who establish the prayer and give zakah and those who fulfill their covenant when they make it and those who are patient in suffering and hardship and time of stress. Those are the ones who are true and those are the righteous.”
    >>> What more needs to be said in light of the above explicit verse ?
