Wullop Khin I'm from yemen and we only found out about this from this documentary, it's only in very certain areas, and its secret, and the owners have connections to the government. The USA force is like the rest of the world to have only governments that they want. If you watch this video closely you would know that the people don't know anything about that.
After the freed salves were delivered in 40:10; One of the brother said "We'll never be apart again." 41:38 The oldest brother said "the important thing is that we're together". 41:43 he requested "Can you take a photo so we can remember this moment?" Then he smiled. I saw the radiance of true happiness, hope, and freedom on his face. That is the "face of FREEDOM". My tears flowed as river. Thank God for these brave journalists have risked their lives to free these very unfortunate men, known as slaves.
This is one of the most amazing videos I've watched recently. What a wonderful journalist and human rights minister. I wish there was something I could do!
Of course, there's something we can all do. Let's start by standing against racism in all its form. Racism is the root of enslavement when some sees others as less than themselves.
It's so sad to see this man feeling so shameful in front of an Arab. He might have been freed, but he still suffers from a slave mentality and the presenter isnt that much better, he treats the freedman like a child.
Thank you for showing us useful investigative journalism. Keep it up!!! There are a lot of slave people still in the world, it’s 😞 sad. May GOD bring better days for all people under slavery and repression.
Just wanted to verify for the non-Arabic speakers that the subtitles are actually solid and on-point. I’m actually actively looking for something to complain about (in terms of subtitles and translations) and after watching 20+ al jazerra videos I’m pleasantly surprised and happy to report that the subtitles and translations are accurate. My motivation is simply a result of watching videos with subtitles in other languages and wishing someone in the comments would remark about the subtitles in a video.
how is there slavery in Yemen when there is no work to be done? Literally, over half the population is unemployeed. And for those employeed they usually work for the govt or abroad in the West or other Gulf states. I lived in Yemen for two years. Racial disparity i see but slavery, well this video shcked the hell out of me
Al Jazeera World - Slavery in Yemen program is a good effort to highlight this issue. In third world poor countries this issue may exist in one form or the other due to poverty, illiteracy, etc. Children can be seen working in shops and hotels in market area, in some places. The harsh truth is that human life is very cheap and unprotected in some societies.
This work was done by those who risk their own lives to save many lives. The world has never ended slavery. There is need for a truly and end. Let us stop the denial. All human are born equal.
Jim Hope a newly born doesn't know any of that nonsense you just mentioned so therefore we're born equal my friend, one thing for sure though we're all going to be rotten someday.

The nature, really doesn't know anything about equality or inequality; only the human mind has the ability to label and judge this way. +striving MuSliMaH We all go through a period in youth where we need to 'lose faith' in humanity---that is after all, why we have religions, because these bad places are where we naturally go (at least in our corrupting times) when we don't *truly* follow good guidance to be balanced and compassionate in the deepest sense--striving, as you name yourself. It is disheartening to see people being callous to one another. Our faith has to be in the possibility to reach the mercy and benevolence to work with them and do what we can to see good conditions for the people around us (and ourselves). Sometimes we have to face and challenge common wrong religious interpretations to do so.

There is only one reason slavery is an embarrassment to the government and that is because the accept it and cover it up. Ceyni Cade they do not live in refugee camps, they are not UN registered or get anything from the U.N. they are Yemenis that moved from war with their own money and belongings.
There are actually many more countries in the modern world where slavery still exists to some degree: Mauritania, the Congo, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, *COUGH COUGH QATAR*, Afghanistan, Pakistan....
Anyone care to explain how this relates with the current war situation in Yemen? Is any side trying to preserve this way of life/ establishment? Is another trying to bring change? Or does neither care?
In the Quran : 090:008-13 "Have We not made for him two eyes? and a tongue and two lips? and shown him the two ways / paths? BUT HE HAS NOT ATTEMPTED THE STEEP PATH - THE ASCENT. And what can make you know what the steep path / ascent is? (It is) FREEING A SLAVE" 002:177 It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East or the West but righteousness (is he) who believes in God and the Last Day, and the Angels and the Book and the Prophets and gives wealth despite of his love for it to those of near relatives and the orphans and the needy and of the wayfarer and those who ask and in FREEING THE SLAVES and who establish the prayer and give zakah and those who fulfill their covenant when they make it and those who are patient in suffering and hardship and time of stress. Those are the ones who are true and those are the righteous.” >>> What more needs to be said in light of the above explicit verse ?
I only cried while the release brother said he was told he is not like other children that he was a slave . Just the simple reason being black and his ancestors are slave. Allah save us from the practices of these ignorant people.

omg This broke my heart.
The brothers voice at the end sounds unusually high. These were savage acts, committed and condoned by savage people.
So heartbreaking
There are actually many more countries in the modern world where slavery still exists to some degree:
Mauritania, the Congo, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, *COUGH COUGH QATAR*, Afghanistan, Pakistan....
The Congo?
Saudi Arabia?
😭😭😭thankz God
Islam, such a wonderful religion.
And Christiany is a wonderful religion too when they had slaves too
@@اليمناصلالعربغصبنعليك Too bad I'm not Christian or any religion for that matter.
Cultured White Boy ok good for u
Anyone care to explain how this relates with the current war situation in Yemen? Is any side trying to preserve this way of life/ establishment? Is another trying to bring change? Or does neither care?
In the Quran :
090:008-13
"Have We not made for him two eyes? and a tongue and two lips? and shown him the two ways / paths? BUT HE HAS NOT ATTEMPTED THE STEEP PATH - THE ASCENT. And what can make you know what the steep path / ascent is? (It is) FREEING A SLAVE"
002:177
It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the East or the West but righteousness (is he) who believes in God and the Last Day, and the Angels and the Book and the Prophets and gives wealth despite of his love for it to those of near relatives and the orphans and the needy and of the wayfarer and those who ask and in FREEING THE SLAVES and who establish the prayer and give zakah and those who fulfill their covenant when they make it and those who are patient in suffering and hardship and time of stress. Those are the ones who are true and those are the righteous.”
>>> What more needs to be said in light of the above explicit verse ?
My heart broken feel disappointed sadness when I watch this video I feel sad my treats came out
Subhanallaah what kinda religion they have it ppl who own's slaves?
this is haram.
@Jeremiah Atwood it is haraam. Look into it and look at what our prophet has done to help slaves and look into how many slaves he freed in the past.
They are not free until they leave that evil place....
if an outsider says anything, the yemeni's claim it's an insult to allah
Yemen rebels should win their rebellion and bring changes that will outlaw slavery.
May the anger of GOD be on the ones who do nothing to end slavery as the prophet did
seems to be an entirely islamic fashion
الله يصلح حالك يابلادي
And slavery in Qatar?
Well made documentary well worth watching happy ending for the slave brothers
I guess that slave owner is not a religious man. Very nasty indeed.
I only cried while the release brother said he was told he is not like other children that he was a slave . Just the simple reason being black and his ancestors are slave. Allah save us from the practices of these ignorant people.
Thank you for exposing this disgusting culture.
The human rights minister said slavery is not illegal in Yemen.
