rank inflation is still a think and rank system has no real score like the skill caps around gold 2, everything above gold 2 is pure placements luck or inflation by spamming 600 matches. imagine playing 600matches at 50% win rate. now the difference between fresh placement and 600 matches spam is that the guy with 600 matches is not any better than the one that just finished placements, other than his 300 wins and 300 loses that nets him +30 lp on win - 25 on lose, in the end, he gets +9000 lp in wins and -7500 lp in losses. so there is a flat inflation of +5 lp per each pair of W/L , -> 300 wins and 300 loses, means the player has not improved in any form, but just because he has the hours and days to spam, he just gains a difference of 2500 lp for free. this is not anywhere near 'ranked' it's just a number that increases with every hour you put in eventually.

I mean, their MMR will change just like their LP gains, and if they keep having a bad performance, they'll find themselves getting negative LP and making their climb way harder. Until they improve enough to consistently carry their team, this can go either way. Someone in bronze makes thousands of mistakes compared to someone in masters.
