I've yet to hear a BAD rendition of this song, but the BEST is the demo out-take track #12, disk 1 on THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS LIVE AT THE AVALON BALLROOM, I can't stop listening to it!
pretty sure it was early 98 cos i bumped into him in harvard sq. when he was trying to find fort apache studios to record it.i guess they moved but never told him.we got in my car and found it but no one was there.
I heard a live version they did together, and you barely hear any Juliana. I'm mainly a Juliana fan, does she appear more on the studio version i.e. is it worth me buying it?
Juliana kinda does harmony to Evan's vocal. You can still hear her though and its a good album. Swap the word DOT for a . in this link for a sample... jrDOTcom/product/music/pm/_318436/
listern to all your records ( have them all) and yes your are a great song writer, but you are still agreat singer, I should not write comments when I am pissed. I apologise.
I appreciate the attempt to cover a GP Classic, but- somethings are better left untouched, unscathed; so as not to tarnish the brilliance of a Masterpiece. In other words- Evan Butchered a Great Classic of a Genius song by an Epic Legend (GP); so quickly ruined and destroyed. Damn it!! Take a tip- Leave Gram Parsons Alone. No one comes close to the Fallen Angel....
Evan Dando, in a Maiden shirt, singing Gram: Cosmic. American. Music. Xx
they just seem like kindred spirits, is all. like they've been singing about each other all this time w/o even knowin it.

I love the tribute version with the faster pitch. I always thought the original was kinda clunky.
That this guy who if he saw Gram was a baby but I feel Gram coming through
Really like it. I think GP would too.
@pelicanmouse You sure as fuck are a great songwriter. Amen to that!
Yes but the song was written by Gram Parsons
true dat, sugar!!!!
I really wish I could hear the duet Evan did with Juliana of this song. Anyone know where I could track down the studio version?

this is a sad song imo
If you think Evan Dando can't write the fuck out of a pop song, you should go back and watch American Idol.
Holl shit....o como se diga en inglés..........

His timing is way off, too rushed
Joe Mama settle down bro, it is what it is
Well, the song is about horrible timing….getting struck by destiny and barely holding it together stumbling around.

I want to hear Gram's music played by others. I think he would too.
