A 1980 DT100G was a HUGE part of my life! My MOTHER (how many people get to say MOTHER?) got one when I was a kid so she could ride the dirt roads of Southwest Georgia WITH ME. Rare and wonderful! When she wasn’t riding it, and I wasn’t riding my 50cc Puch moped to school or work, or my YZ80, YZ100, YZ125, or IT490 at the track, I was (most of the time) riding the DT100G. It was my (our) first (of many) dual-sport bikes. Amazing times! The BEST of times! 😍😍😍

I had a 1978 dt100 that had been ridden a ton before i got it. I just picked up a great condition 1978 dt100 for my boys last weekend. I am so excited to share some of my youth with them.

Found a 1980 one complete!!! Fires right up . Didn’t think twice about trading a Honda recon 250 even up for it .
Got it for plans to full resto and before that to teach my younger sister how to drive clutch .

I had a silver one when I was 8. My old man bought it for $400 bucks. The throttle stuck on me one day, I panicked and climbed halfway up my neighbors fence and looped out. Scared the crap out me lol.

Makes me miss my ‘82 DT100 so much. I traded it last month for an ‘80 Suzuki RS250. Only had 2,000 miles on it :(

Another thing to add, headlight is powered from the stator via the lighting coil. The turn signals and brake light was powered by the battery.

My did rode a one when he was a kid and now I ride it. They are so good. I’m surprised how many miles that has. Mine is almost at 10k

Hi I have a Yamaha mx100 (I gather that’s the off road dt100) It does need some refurbishment (which I’m featuring on my channel) I’m in the U.K. but mines a US import. Lovely little bikes and they sound great. Good video🙂👍

My son needs a headlight for his 81' dt 80 with 1280 miles. All original except the valve stem caps.

I had an 82 MX 100 a couple years ago. The off road version of the DT. Ran but it was pretty much a basket case otherwise.
