For example, when Albert Anastasia was murdered it was not referred to as the "Gambino" family. Not until Gambino took over did they change it. The family was founded by Vincent Mangano originally. Anastasia did not maintain leadership well. Gambino organized his execution. Just one of many examples of a very poorly organized and factually incomplete story. Luciano was the by head of his family and successful in bootleging. He was trained by Arnold Rothstein. He and Meyer Lanski should have been included in your timeline. Vito Genovese managed to call the family Genovese after Luciano died ( or was killed) I don't know. After he tried to kill Costello, and look for that supposed daughter lucky had, to kill her.
