Yeah. Yet, this plot twist was enough to keep me from watching any of the Austin Powers sequels. Just gave me flashbacks to the start of the second Matt Damon Bourne movie.
His career was cut...short His funeral was a, small gathering Film production was a, tiny bit delayed "OK that's enough "Right" **Both awkwardly exit the door**

third one is worth a watch, though I think this one is the funniest of the three. The first was so great because it was such an awesome spoof. A fan of the older Bond movies myself so the tropes they were hitting on constantly make me laugh.
Man .. when this came out, this sealed Dr.Evil as one of my favorite comedic characters of all time. His comedic timing and presence in this still holds up over 20 years later.

This is my favorite Austin Powers movie. We finally get to go back to the 60’s. Plus, we get the two best editions to the franchise: Felicity Shagwell and Mini-Me.
The 3rd has the worst IMDb rating but I actually think it’s the best, a lot more spoofy but higher quality and a great cast. For me It goes 3rd, 2nd, 1st
Everything about "Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me" has another lineup of funny moments, including the Jerry Springer scene, the "Let's Get It On" scene with Dr. Evil and Frau Farbissina, the "Just the Two of Us" scene with Dr. Evil and Mini-Me, the out-of-context shadow scene with Austin Powers and Felicity Shagwell, and the climactic moment that parodies the James Bond film "Moonraker". And Heather Graham is beautiful in that movie, bar none.
The scene with "are you gonna cry" is taken right out the fantastic movie "The Great Santini." Not a comedy at all, but well worth seeing, about a (US) Marine fighter pilot and his struggles at work and at home with his family, in particular his teenage son, during the 1960s. It starred Robert Duval (nominated for 7 Academy awards) and Blythe Danner (multi-time Emmy and Tony award winner - and mother to Gwyneth Paltrow.) It's a really wonderful movie.
Before watching the third one you should really watch the James Bond 007 film "Goldfinger" from the early 1960s. It would help you understand a lot of the references, espicially in the third film.
The mini me joke was a reference to Marlon Brando having his own mini-me on the set of The Island of Dr Moreau. An actor, who was a little person, was chosen by Brando to be his assistant in the movie, and would dress like him on set.
Fun fact that I’m sure not a lot of people are gonna point out: do you hear the music that’s playing during the car chase with Will Ferrell’s character? It’s actually a song called “Espionage,” written and performed by GREEN DAY!! It also appears on their 2002 B-sides album “Shenanigans”!!
This was great, so fun. Loved the singing too. :D Please do the third, it's not quite as good, but it's still the same vibe and worth checking out. RIP Verne Troyer.
