This is why you take what you get in a down market. Teams don’t want him, because his strength is counting stats, but he’s inefficient at compiling them. Dump him.
A good deal for the Pels would be Ingram & Cj for RJ Barrett and Quickley Get the Duke guys back together ( which I feel would help Zion more than hurt him ) and the raptors can use Ingram
Once Ingram signaled to the league that being in a winning situation trumps getting 200 million his next contract, he took away all of New Orleans' leverage. The only potential leverage they had was they were the only team that could give Ingram a 4th year on an extension. If he doesn't care about that, what else can the Pelicans offer? Mentioning teams like Utah, Portland, or ANY rebuilding team is pointless _because Ingram IS NOT COMMITING to a rebuilding team._ He's ALREADY had (going on) 6 years of his career wasted in New Orleans & their mindless "let's-turn-Zion-into-Lebron-2.0" experiment. He's trying to get to a serious organization now.
Asking price with the Pels isn't going to change with Klutch as his representation. If they don't want to pay him BI has made it clear he wants to play for a contender.
@letapragas They would LOVE to replace Ingram with Johnson, but my main man, David Griffin, is losing his grounding with BI capable of signing with us next season
@don7109 The team he's on now is supposed to be competitive. His injury history is a big reason why his teams lose. I argue that a healthy Ingram on the Nets next season puts them in the Playoffs with room to improve the roster
Yo what’s up man Pels fan here. I couldn’t agree more it’s time to tank and do a mini blow up with BI, Z and CJ. I think if anything Z stays here till next trade deadline of next year. Don’t see anyone trading for him yet. Only thing I disagree with you on is you saying the Pels need to get Flagg. I rather Bailey, Harper or Tre Johnson. Those are the top 3 players in this draft imo
They should be tanking. I don't get what teams are doing these days? Are you trying to win a title or not? Tank for a young talent, get rid of CJ/BI, see what you have next year with DJM/Zion/Herb/Murphy/Hopefully a top 5 pick. They can change their organization fairly fast I don't get why no one tanks at the right time (outside of the Spurs/OKC)
That's what I've been saying for quite some time..the core should be Murphy Murray Missi and Herb Jones... If you can keep Jose great... If you can keep Hawkins great but everybody else can go and get the best deal possible for them. 🏀👀
@tinamiller2300 they said the same about Alex Caruso. And Alex is probably the better Herb Jones. And then he went for Josh straight up without even a pick being involved. If you can't compete with the current built, why not keep only your young money making superstar and secure picks for everyone else. It's not like the Pels are going to attract a big name superstar in free agency or will get one in a trade. They need a high usage star guard to pair with Zion and a shooting big. Both are hot commodities. Both can really only be acquired via draft. If they can't compete anyway, why not sell off all the assets. Zion is young enough to try and find the stars around him again. CJ, Murray, BI, Alvarado and what This? That definitely isn't it. Zion is chilling with thots and eating again. They gotta make that brother happy to come into work. I mean sure they want to get rid of BI the most, but I am convinced that they are all available. They can get a first for Vando later. And they can get a first and a 2nd for Herb right now. That's a little more than two firsts or a couple more shots at another star player from the draft. And hey the Pels at least do pick up the phone, when Rob calls. Can't hurt to try.
If I’m N.O. I have no problem waiving Zion since his contract isn’t guaranteed, and letting B.I. walk in free agency. If they can get draft picks go ahead and trade.
teams like the pels and bulls are ridiculous if they believe they are going to get anything of value in return for their "all stars". the discussion should be what are they going to give up to take on those players.
I think, best case scenario for the Pels is to take on a long term bad contract and maybe get a first round pick for BI( but probably not a good choice unless it's a decent pick). Or if he's not willing to sign for less, they shouldn't be scared to let him walk for nothing. Clippers did it to PG( let him walk for nothing while their other star is always injured and hasn't played all season) And look at how the clippers are doing 😂 That could be the pelicans, next season. But this season is basically a wrap.
Pels have four BIIIG contracts that will bury them. If they have a very early first and at least one first in the teens, they can fix things up pretty fast. They'll have their own early first as it stands. They should be able to get one or two (at least) mid level firsts and (at least) one good rotation player if they can dump two of the three (BI, ZW, CJ). Time for them to bail.
That's stupid. Ingram's just as lazy as everyone else. The only logical and REALISTIC choice is to get KCP/Cole Anthony from the overcrowded guards in Magic. Instant upgrade with lesss cost hopefully.
