This was an unreleased song from Meteora 2003 Mike discovered the song and remastered it for the 20th Anniversary of Meteora. Chester is the lead singer, and his vocals were placed upfront to allow Chester's vocals to shine. RIP Chester! Mike and Linkin Park, Thank You 🙏 💕!
Just gotta inform that you're wrong about Mike remastering it, he didnt. Its the exact same as it was when it was made over 20 years ago. It was ready to go but didnt make the album cause they thought it was too similar to Numb. I'm glad they didnt, cause it was really nice to hear this when they released it for the anniversary. Just amazing.
The reason anime (AI) was done for this particular video was so they would have Chester in the new video. Chester had a rough childhood. These lyrics from Linkin parks songs, are Chester. His pain is reflected in all of them. He saved so many people. I wish someone could have saved him. Miss you Chester. Recommended: The Messenger Live in Madrid Crawling One more Light live
I was waiting for this reaction, such a profound song. If only we knew how bad things were with Chester. It's tough hearing his voice after he passed in a song that wasn't released until recently. Helped me reach out to my loved ones when I felt "lost"
You asked for recommendations after "Lost", something with a bit of a different outlook. From their fouth proper studio album, A Thousand Suns: 1. "The Messenger". This is a MUST listen for you. Chester wrote that to his children, and you can viscerally feel just how desperately he wants his children to never feel the way he did. It's primal in it's parental love, unconditional. 2. "Robot Boy". A strangely uplifting song against cynicism. "Someday, the weight of the world will give you the strength to go". 3. "Irisdecent". A beautifully compassionate song about letting go and moving on. And from their last album One More Light: 1. "Nobody Can Save Me". Don't let the title fool you. It's about realising that you have to be the one to save you, "been searching somewhere out there, for what's been missing right here". 2. "Battle Symphony". Probably the song that fits what you asked for the most. Very much a sort of ballad for picking yourself up again after hardships. 3. "Sharp Edges". About learning from lived mistakes in life and growing from them. Almost folksy in it's vibe, more upbeat than most of their songs, a very positive perspective on making mistakes. Hope one or more of those might catch your interest! Thank you for this reaction ❤
i recommend, "My December" from Linkin Park. it's my fav track from them, i requested it a while back just to play into the whole month of December, but i'd really love to see and hear what you get from it
I am a big fan of your reactions, I found you from Eminem reactions and I just hope you continue posting more Linkin Park ones as well! I would recommend "given up" or "leave out all the rest" for upcoming reactions!
Oof, I wish your audience would have guided you to this video… Like the Eminem audience for Kim relationship. There were some easter eggs that from past video.
I guess you could go with Somewhere I Belong next, for Linkin Park. But to be fair, a lot of their discography is related to this overall theme of dealing with sadness, anger, depression and all those things we need to go through and deal with in life. Amazing band to help you process your most distressing feelings.
Hey Chris, Linkin Park doesn’t really do “shinny happy people songs”. Most of their songs, deal with painful and difficult things from their past and also real issues they or their friends were dealing with at the time. They liked doing songs that their fans could relate to and let, (their fans), feel like they weren’t alone in their struggles. To be honest, I can’t really think of any one of their songs that are upbeat and positive, per say, with the message that life is good sort of topic….. I may be wrong, but I can’t think of any right now…..
Hey Larry! Love your reactions and the choices of songs you're reacting to. You should really dig into Chester and LP's story. It'l give the songs lyrics a whole new meaning. Stay safe
@@Sandy_justme You probably don't know but Chris literally saved my life about two years ago... and then encouraged me to get help... Patti and Chris are always here to pick me up from another breakdown. They're now more than a family to me. I love them both to death ❤️😊
@@that_averagetyp That is so beautiful❤️ I’ve heard it said that our friends are the family we choose for ourselves, and I think that is very true. I sympathise with you completely, and I feel your pain, I’m in a similar spot myself and Cris is definitely helping me to not go down a very dark path. He’s a very cool human. Gosh I’m crying my eyes out AGAIN!🤦🏼♀️ If ever you want a virtual hug I’ll send ya one 🤗❤️🩹
@@Sandy_justme that is VERY TRUE! 😊 Hang in there Sandra! 😊 Glad you found this channel and this community. Chris has that gift of making people's lives better. I'm sure God will repay him for what he's doing 😊 Chris... please remember it works both ways! I'm here for you 24/7 😊 P.s About the hugs... I gotta ask Patti if she's okay with that, lol 😅 We're sending ourselves a lot of virtual hugs 😊
Hi Chris, thank you for this reaction! The first album I bought with my own money was Hybrid Theory from Linkin Park, after that I was a long time fan. When I heard that chester had passed away I couldn't hear a single song from them. And still some songs brings tears to my eyes. And yes I'm still curious to see your reaction on Seven Sins AND the Money game trilogy from Ren!
Could you do the following reactions from Run The Jewels? RTJ3 - Thursday in the Danger Room RTJ2 - Crown Both are good for intros to them (based on your personality -at least what I've seen of you). They're simpler and cover interesting topics. It's a good into to RTJ for someone like you I think.
A great hope after loss song by Linkin Park is Linkin Park - Iredescent. I could go on and on for Linkin Park suggestions but I think you'd like this one a lot.
You want to hear chester at his best and worst do rolling in the deep and giving up ...... I feel like he was calling out for help and nobody herd him......
I've been watching for a while, but only subbed today. I love your reactions and breakdowns, they're great. I came for Eminem and stayed for your insight on videos. I don't comment much, but I wanted to say how much I respect your wisdom and stories when you react. I have a reaction suggestion as well. I would love to see you react to So Far Away by Avenged Sevenfold. It's a really emotional tribute to their childhood friend and the bands drummer that passed away. I think you'd really enjoy it. It's not too heavy, not too soft, it's a perfect balance in my opinion. Whether you react to it or not I'm in it for the long haul with your channel, you've introduced me to new music, provided comfort when I'm down, and overall just been a really good example of how i want to compose my self as a man and as a person. Thank you Chris, for the amazing reactions consistently.
Loved the reaction. If you see this comment you should check out, "The Girl That Never Was" by James Blunt. I just discovered it today and it seems like a perfect song for you to react to. It has an official music video.
How do you hear a track that's like 80% drum machine and call it "pure rock"? They're a hip hop and electronica group. Playing guitar on a digital beat doesn't make it rock.

We absolutely knew how bad things were with Chester. He told us. Not through secret messages in Mike's lyrics, but openly in interviews.

That is Chester singing. Anytime you hear “rock” vocals in a LP song it’s Chester. Mike has a deeper voice. Hope this helps!
Great to see more LP. Hope you're doing well! :)
