Today is one of those special-good days, I get a tutorial from you! I am so envious (the same type of envious I get when looking at art in a gallery or listening to poetry in recitals from those whom have written them, aka the put on a green eyeshadow look with a shimmer green-gold highlight, thoughtful, kind, and 'teach me oh wise one' type) of how you not only put eyeshadow on after the base and get next to zero fall out (even when you use the eyeshadow where the brand practically puts a guarantee of fall-out on its packaging!), you also can have a light/pale coloured eyeshadow look and then put on the blackest black (or at the very least a brown-black) mascara and it goes on the lashes! Let me learn the magic!! (Not to mention that you can do all this when you have a mini-panda to look after).
When you mentioned your false lashes trick, and then explained about certain people that it might not work for. I thought about how a specific make-up artist not only puts false lashes on, but then combines false lashes with her own/her clients' lashes. The make-up artist is called Eve Pearl, and her videos are well worth a look. However, she shows this quick and easy way of doing it, and genuinely a quick and easy way, even for mere mortals! My explanation would not do it justice and would make it sound more complicated than the videos do.
I can't put on mascara at the end of my look (and rarely wear it anyway sensitive eyes are a sore but valid excuse... er reason), I also can't put on eyeshadow without covering my face in the colour(s) I'm using (getting 'tons of fall out' would be a blessing! I rarely wear eyeshadow(s) but wear it more than mascara). I do my make-up backwards, put mascara on both top and lower lashes (if wearing it) and allow it to dry thoroughly and then remove all the messy bits with wet tissues over cotton buds, do eyeshadow base and eyeshadow(s) but I leave the extended or pulled out part of it and my lower lash line until after doing my base because I end up wrecking it by putting on my moisturiser, primer, foundation, and under-eye concealer. If I get [on my upper eyelid/lashes] a lighter eyeshadow or my eyelashes look a bit grey or weird (aka green and other colours), before removing the eyeshadow mess and applying base, I use a brow brush lightly to either brush or just shake the lashes, or licking a finger and tapping the area so the eyeshadow 'sticks' to my finger doesn't do anything to help the situation, then I put some mascara over the top of the lashes (a third of the lash away from the roots to the end so I don't screw up the eyeshadow look).

This is a beautiful, sophisticated look! The glitter liner provides just the right amount of bling if you need to be conservative. I love it!!

Dani I love this makeup look!! I am one who scares away from glitter because of my age. I am 47 and too much glitter makes me look older lol. I do believe I will have to give this look a try though.
