I knew there was a Cat coming because I noticed the treats in the wee cupboard near the beginning, yet I still got surprised coz he was hiding underneath a whole pillow.😆 🐾🐈🥰
I'd love to spend a day with him. His energy is so positive.
Small hammock nets were a great solution for clothes, fruits and vegies when I lived aboard my sailboat.
I saw the bus when it was being built. But I think my favorite part was his advice about not worrying if you're a "real" van lifer and I really felt it when he was speaking about resilience. Doesn't surprise me that he's a good dude, Chris and Wes are good people, so it makes sense a good human would be in a bus they built. ❤️🙌🏻

I really like the lighting and the overhead cabinets. It makes so much sense having the doors open down instead of up. I wish mine opened down. I think I'll add changing them to my to do list. The bus is homey and comfortable, and has an awesome vibe. Thank you for this great tour!
Add baskets 🧺 to your storage area. You'll be able to slide them out to find what you need and when you put them back the area will look less cluttered. For the top shelf look for a basket with a lid to keep it tidy.
Actually ended up doing that! Got some at bed bath and beyond
I'd look by the trash until someone throws out a milk crate. Extremely durable, holds a TON of weight, AND they don't cut your hands, unlike those stupid cheap ones.
PLUS, they STACK! And you can wash them in the shower if they get dusty.
Baskets are just for photos. Just like leaning your photos against the wall. Irl, it ruins the paint, which peels right off when you move it and it never looks right to start with. Just learn to use a level and a drill/screwstarter.
Baskets don't last. They collect hair and dust. They're not cheap or free. Can't be stacked and don't hold much and nothing really heavy.
We use them for odd musical instruments, like shakers and such. As a dog toy basket. Little dogs go over the top and whine if they can't reach, so just turn it to the side for them. Put them in the trunk to hold car stuff. Use to hold LOTS of heavy wiring if you're into sound/music.
They don't break unlike the cheap Ines, either. Less waste.
Use all one color like clothes hangers and it'll look fine.
I love it. It is so simple and yet functional. And my favourite part of the van was the Mexican tile (perhaps because I'm Mexican 🤭). And he is so genuine and honest. 🤗💖
Thanks for saying something about the beautiful Mexican tile. I forgot to. I have 4 tiles on the nature counter space behind my stove top that I use for a spoon rest. I think they are so special.

I had a Robert corn plant.
It's now 7.5 feet tall. Had it 25 years.
Just water them, replant them and give them less sun that you think you should.
I wait until the pot won't really hold the tree up. Water only some on Friday.
Close blinds where it is so it doesn't burn.

Having a soundbar is such a good idea. I’ve seen speakers in some other builds but have not seen a soundbar yet so that’s super cool and I love that idea so much
I'm still thinking how to set up a PA system. I play music and extremely proud of my setup. House speakers are Bose, some of the best decent priced gear out there.
Get the older stuff. Fixes are usually fairly easy and not horribly expensive, considering they tend to last 25+ years. Plus, it's much better sounding and better made. And way cheaper.
It'll blow a sound bar out if the water every time. Plus, you won't need subs of you get bookcase shelf Bose 301 series.
They were like 350 or so last time I grabbed an extra set.
Cheaper, less powerful but still quite decent, are KRK yellow cones. They're RCA, which most people have around (you have to cut/have speaker wire on Bose; it just needs to be cut and you need a wire /cutter stripper tool. Roll the ends to get a point, open the hinge and put the end in). Look for the part with a stripe, that's the positive/red side.
'Spike' apparently a lot of others have the same thought haha 😄 😅
Looks great! Just curious how you take a shower though. Do you have an outside water connection?

Decent. Have you considered building a shower in the center of the bus? I'm talking under the skylight. Maybe put a shower pan under the floor, and have a piece of plywood over the pan.

Some nice baskets to fit in cubbies help contain and organize. And they have those nice travel packs to keep clothes in

I think a great name for the plant is Porky the porcupine plant. The Mexican tiles are beautiful & add a nice pop of color to your home. We only got a glimpse of Phoenix’s owner’s fingers when she showed the skylight. Pretty fingers tho! I love your whole energy & positive attitude. Also, your advice on not caring if you have a “van” or not because it’s about the attitude is fabulous!

I got a shuttle bus to turn into a mobile boutique. But I do want to convert it in such a way that it can also be a camper too.
Had a few obstacles come up from me starting work on it but after I get through upcoming surgery, I fully intend to start working on it.
And I have to say that I love, love, love your bus. I’m certainly getting a lot of inspiration for what I want to do to mine.🙂👍

I went to the RV show and even I was shocked at how NARROW these things are. Just like real estate ads, in person is another animal.
