  • In a world dominated by digital music streaming, vintage vinyl records are experiencing a remarkable resurgence globally. Last year, vinyl sales in the US reached $1.2 billion, surpassing CD sales for the first time in over 35 years.
While comprehensive data on vinyl record sales in Hong Kong is not readily available, local record store owners have revealed that sales have remained strong over the past decade, defying the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this special episode of All About Money, HKIBC’s Chloe Feng speaks with James Tang, the owner of Hong Kong Record Museum. Together, they delve into the reasons behind the resurgence of interest in vinyl records, exploring why people are gravitating toward this older medium of music. Tang also shares how he managed to turn his passion into a life-long business.
