Did you not experienced the audio drift in syncing issues? I honestly have no idea how people cannot noticed this. I have been able to reproduce it on literally every single AirPods Pro second generation I’ve encountered. Three that I’ve had replaced, and literally. 10 from friends and family that I’ve purchased it.
This video shows me never become a sound engineer. The difference is there but subtle for most of the examples. Frankly they are both great EarPods. One thing I wish they should include is to allow me to adjust different levels of boast in different frequencies like the Sony one I have.
Thank you for this 👏 like no joke. You have been the only one who actually went in depth in testing exactly how much of an improvement these new pods are instead of just repeating almost everything Apple said back at WWDC

Ok so as a father of 4 loud children the adaptive transparency is one of my favorite features. You were right in saying it’s hard to notice, but that’s only because it’s working so seamlessly. The best way to identify how it works is to play a background noise like white noise or a bath running and then introduce a loud scream or shout. You can clearly hear the sound of the bath being reduced comparatively to the shout and it all happens in a fraction of a second. I’m telling you this feature is an ear saver in so many situations.

Used my AirPods Pro 1 for 8+ hours a day since launch and upgraded them today ($180 at Costco with AppleCare+ included). The difference in sound quality is very noticeable. Much better bass while still preserving the definition of the higher ranges. Adaptive Audio is amazing, it sounds like I’m not wearing headphones at all but quickly mutes or balances out loud or annoying sounds in the background. Wore them in the car wash today and it quickly went to full ANC when it got loud and seamlessly went transparent when I got out. Very natural feeling and no jarring transitions. The conversation awareness feature is also a huge benefit to someone like me who wears them all day at work. It goes full transparent as soon as I start talking and mutes my music. Volume controls on the buds are a huge benefit as well. Can’t say enough good about them.
I’m 70 and noticing those high end frequencies are more annoying these days while I used to adjust my EQ towards them and trim the lows. The AP2s in my experience are amazing at delivering a softer range of vocals while listening without irritating highs dominating the space. I thing the ANC is at least 2x better and transparency is so life like! Excellent review. 🙏🏼👍
I just wanted to mention how smart of an idea it was to test the mic during the sponsor portion. For once didn’t fast forward due to wanting to see the differences. Great review. Subbed.

Did you notice some occasional left / right imbalance both with the ANC and playback? Mine seem to do that. Sometimes the left earbud clearly cancels less noise, especially higher pitched sounds like distance traffic noise. Usually after after some minutes it get's back to cancelling it out completely and then gradually getting worse again. While in the same environment. Very distracting and uncomfortable feeling. And for playback sometimes with mono sounds like voice in podcasts the sound is for a brief period of time - usually a few seconds - not coming from the front, but slightly shifted to the left or right. Maybe that is occuring when the ANC is calibrating to new environmental noise. It seems to do that calibrating more than the Airpods Pro 1, which for me always gave the same amount of noise cancelling. The Pro 2 seem to cancel less, the quieter the environment ist. Maybe to safe energy. The result however is distracting for me.
Hi i have a question. Is it normal that on AirPods Pro 2 with transparency mode on and Music Playing (50% volume) I can hear someone talking but i cant understand exact words because of Music? Is it normal or my AirPods are wrong?
I work in the middle of a noisy manufacturing facility and AirPod Pro 1 does a decent job but I still generally need to play my own music to really drown it out. I’m wondering if the Pro 2 will be worth it or not.

When I had the AirPods Pro 1, I was so disappointed because there was no bass, now upgraded to AirPods Pro 2, much better, stronger bass and overall better sound quality, gave me goosebumps!
Great comparison, as always. I've been waiting for this review since the launching. On the other side, I expected more from the new gen. I think I'll keep my 1st gen airpods pro or maybe consider the Sony's or Bose QCe 2. Thank you for your effort and high quality content!
I've been waiting patiently for your airpods pro 2 review for weeks!! So glad you finally did it I love your content it's so comprehensive and thorough. Great job as always!
I wore the AirPods Pro 2 and heard the sound of a pressure cooker while keeping the adaptive transparency mode on. Then (while the same sound of the pressure cooker continued), I switched off the adaptive transparency mode from my phone. And boy what a huge difference that made. The sound suddenly seemed too high to even tolerate. Never knew the adaptive mode was soo good.
As straight audio quality, would you consider the AirPods Pro 2 or the Sennheiser True Wireless Momentum 4 to have better sound quality? I have the Momentum 3’s and am tired of having to get replacements pairs from QC issues. :/
Im quite surprised how few differences there are between Sound and ANC. Especially after i heard so much hype about the new ones the last months. I actually think the gen 1 sounds a little warmer and pleasant from your recordings. I will definetely have to try gen 2 out, but I definetely dropped plans to add them to my collection and look more into the direction of the galaxy buds pro 2. Especially after my Airpods started disabling Bluetooth on my iPhone when pausing audio after the last firmware update.
@elliotalderson8358 when they stop making the best all rounder for earbuds with features not found on any other earbud, maybe they could even be considered a ripoff. For now, I think they’re a great value because of how great they are. Don’t be toxic.

This is the most incredible AirPods Pro 2 review I’ve seen! Thank you so much for the ridiculous amount of work and skill this has taken. Also, I really like how the mic test doubled as a sponsor plug. It actually made it one of the least awkward mic tests out there.
I have bought pro 2 and tried it against pro 1 for a week before I returned the pro 2s.. My experience is that pro 2 sounds muddy due to hyped bass frequencies, also has narrower sound stage. The mids are diminished in favour of more bass. Detail is lost. I really dont understand why every youtuber says they are an upgrade soundwise. Maybe I have problem with my ears :).
What are the best noise cancelling headphones? I live near a noisy environment, gyms blaring and construction zone? Which headphones will give me silence?
I know its not apples to apples but soundwise do you prefer these to the sony xm5 over ears? The sound tests are thin vs the original sound. Is this due to the mic or do these earbuds really have this slightly nasal character vs the original sound?
if you have a airpods, use apple music, you will see the difference. choose high resolution lossless or lossless. you can make adjustments according to the type of music you listen to via the equalizer.
Okay so let’s give u guys a additional impression from someone who loves good sound : I had both of these. The Bose have more and deeper bass and it sound real , not like the momentum 3s which sound a bit bloaded and muddeled. The Bose have more forward mids so voiced sound more prominent than the Air pods and momentum’s which I love. In terms of highs the air pods sound colder and a bit mor3e „ tiny“ ?! Soundstage wise Their are all 3 basically the same, no big differences here. All in all the Bose sound the best and react very nice to adjustments in the EQ. The air pods sound the most natural and cold with a bit recessed voices and the Sennis have the most powerful bass just a tiny bit more than the Bose but it overshadows the rest often and mids sound a bit muddy all in all .. concerning ANC Bose Aare best , followed by the air pods and the Sennis
hmm i not conviced - at hoem i use dt990rpo and 770 80ohm, as walking fun - jabra 75t but i corrected them with eq - still they sound like totaaly club set - but they give joy - - shoudl iget air pods pro 2?
The irony is the ANC of Gen 2 is still not as good as the first firmware on the Gen 1! Also Apple decreased the ANC even further over the last year on the Gen 1. So the Gen 2 now appear twice as good as Gen 1 but the really is they are similar to the Gen 1 when they were first released. Now Apple probably reduced it in Gen 1 due to other sound issues (and allegedly a patent issue). I also think the sound has improved on Gen 1 since release too so the sound difference is less now than I think it would have been when compared to Gen 1 when released. Hope that all makes sense!
Hi, Loved the video ! have the Airpoods Pro 2 for a month now and there has been a nerf on the ANC. I can hear cars passing by, keyobard strokes and a lot more noise in general. Thanks to the intergration with the Apple watch compared to before they let in 9db more sound than when I tested them when I got them. Have you noticed such downgrade in the quality of the ANC and if so will have the opportunity to make a test with your equipment and compared it to the data you have from this video in order to see the difference. A lot of people are experiencing a nerf in the ANC since the last 10 to 15 days (strange we all got it in the same period of a couple of days and it has not been the same since then for sure. A noticable difference, would be great if you could document it.
As a music producer, I can notice in the second track, the mix of the kick and snare become clearer with the ap2 and with with the ap1 they are muddier and muffled
About the sound quality, I'm not surprised because I expect expensive brand like Apple to bring out the best and better improvement every year. But what I'm blown away is the quality of the transparency mode, sounds so fucking natural and doesn't sound processed even just a little, almost as good as Hearing Aids!
Listening to it using my AirPods Pro 2. I can say that the difference is bigger than shown. I hated the flat sound of the 1st gen. I love the 2nd gen though. I listen to music at 50% or less volume, so the 1st gen didn’t really produce enough bass. The 2nd gen is perfect for me, definitely worth the upgrade.
i just upgraded from the AirPods 2 to the AirPods Pro 2 an iam amazed. when that adaptive transparency kicks in (when an ambulance passes by or sth. like that) you can hear how its more silent.
Thanks for this. I’m no audiophile and TBH, I couldn’t tell the difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 except for the microphone test. The Gen 2 was clearly superior with that. Fortunately, I don’t make much (if any, phone calls) and I have my AirPod Max for work meetings. My only complaint with my Gen 1 is one of the earbuds sometimes doesn’t charge when I put it in the case. I’ll upgrade when that goes kaput. In the meantime, thanks for saving me $329 CAD.
do you use a separate mic for the work meetings? using airpods max + its mic default both to hands free audio vs stereo and makes the audio sound horrible
@@lenardz To clarify, I meant that the sound coming through the airpods max headset itself sounds horrible while using it’s mic at the same time. At least on Windows.
@@kotic33 That has not been the case for me. Sound has been absolutely fantastic: very crisp. Just got off a meeting actually and it was great. And yes, my workplace uses Windows.
@@lenardz interesting! would you mind if, while you’re in a meeting using it’s mic, you tell me what the exact names of the audio input and output are selected as for the max? say in zoom or discord while using
I think it’s a tacky gimmick that I don’t understand why anyone would want and think it’s a bastardization of what the original artists and mixing engineers intended.
I have a question what I couldn't completely get from the video. 1: how low does the volume of the earbuds get, and 2: is there any static 'bluetooth-headphone like' static/hiss noise present in the sound at low volumes, and if, how loud? My ears are highly sensitive to sounds so I like to listen to music at the lowest volume possible. Also because of this, I tend to hear static noise around +20 dB louder than it actually is, therefore my questions. Thanks in advance!
When using ANC and Transparency mode is there meant to be a slight white noise hum? Is that just a side effect of how noise cancelling works? It’s louder when using Transparency mode.
Bro i found your review so good man. I’m looking for upgrade since my Wf1000xm3 problem. Should i buy airpods pro 2nd gen or go fora xm4? BTW im iOS user.

I know its not apples to apples but soundwise do you prefer these to the sony xm5 over ears? The sound tests are thin vs the original sound. Is this due to the mic or do these earbuds really have this slightly nasal character vs the original sound?
Does AirPods Pro 2 have less base in it compared to AirPods Pro 1??
if you have a airpods, use apple music, you will see the difference. choose high resolution lossless or lossless. you can make adjustments according to the type of music you listen to via the equalizer.
Nice review! Is the airpods pro 2 ANC now quieter than the Bose QC 1?
I haven't tried the QC1 but I know the QCII are the one's to beat now for ANC.
Do you have any comments on the pro 2 vs the AirPods gen 3? Specifically soundstage/imaging?
I hear the newest software upgrade made the sound of the Air Pod 2 quite noticeable worse.
What do you say to that?
Hi. Great tests! Just a question: why the Airpods Pro 2 recordings sound out of phase? It's the only recording out of all the others. Thanks!
hmm i not conviced - at hoem i use dt990rpo and 770 80ohm, as walking fun - jabra 75t but i corrected them with eq - still they sound like totaaly club set - but they give joy - - shoudl iget air pods pro 2?
How did you deal with youtube compression? Or did you ignore it?
Ignore it.
Also just wondering did you max out the tone level to 125% for these?
The sponsor video and mic test combination was very very smart. Kudos
Really? Bcs i thought the anc is not much of a dif, but definitely have to giive credit on the mic performance compared to the first one
They say there is an airplane effect in Airpods 2 pro ANC,is it annoying ?
Which is the video for buds with the better noise cancellation?
Is the audio quality better as compared to Bose qc 45 ?
Yes
As a music producer, I can notice in the second track, the mix of the kick and snare become clearer with the ap2 and with with the ap1 they are muddier and muffled
About the sound quality, I'm not surprised because I expect expensive brand like Apple to bring out the best and better improvement every year. But what I'm blown away is the quality of the transparency mode, sounds so fucking natural and doesn't sound processed even just a little, almost as good as Hearing Aids!
That electric guitar sample really sold the pro2 to me
Listening to it using my AirPods Pro 2.
Also, the noise cancellation is noticeably better.
Should I turn on Spatial Audio for listening Spotify?
I think it sounds best with apple music and dolby atmos tracks. Outside of that, I don't like how it sounds as it is "spatialized" audio.
i just upgraded from the AirPods 2 to the AirPods Pro 2 an iam amazed. when that adaptive transparency kicks in (when an ambulance passes by or sth. like that) you can hear how its more silent.
This is the best airpods pro 2 review. period.
Haha. Thank you!
Please share it with others. It helps a lot.
@@kotic33 No, just the Airpod Max. My colleagues say I sound clear. I actually started using it because my Bose one started chopping in and out.
@@lenardz interesting! would you mind if, while you’re in a meeting using it’s mic, you tell me what the exact names of the audio input and output are selected as for the max? say in zoom or discord while using
Do you use audio spatial or not ?
How do the AirPods 2 compare to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II ?
For someone who never owned a pair of airpods, would you go for pro gen 1 or 2 ?
Is it worth the pricedifference of 80$ , here in sweden?
Thank you!
If you have an iPhone 11 or higher, definitely grab the 2 gen. Trust me you’ll lose these somewhere and find my is so helpful for those situations
@@wwesuperstar1100 I have a Samsung :)
When using ANC and Transparency mode is there meant to be a slight white noise hum? Is that just a side effect of how noise cancelling works? It’s louder when using Transparency mode.
It shouldn't do that on the Airpods pro 2. I know it does on some, but I don't hear it on my few pairs that I have.
@@ThisIsTechToday I forgot to mention that you can only hear it in a completely quiet room.
What confused me the most is. Is it better sound because of my actual ear buds. I can hear every details with my actual ear buds.
Bro i found your review so good man. I’m looking for upgrade since my Wf1000xm3 problem. Should i buy airpods pro 2nd gen or go fora xm4? BTW im iOS user.
Man this was beyond awesome. Thank for the time you spent in making this video for us. I can honestly say there is a night and day between the 1s and the 2s. Definitely worth the upgrade. Please don't stop making content like this for us. We truly appreciate it.
How can i hear the difference if my headset can’t tell the difference, ill need to buy airpods for that?
Thank you for this very comprehensive review - I am considering the new gen AirPods Pro and have listened to a few reviews already. This was by far the best, and i really liked how you kept to the facts while explaining in details making it easy to understand.
Looking forward to your comparison to the new Bose ! ✌🏻😊
I’m wearing the AirPods Pro gen 2 right now and I can confirm that it indeed sounds like I’m wearing them.
I like how you sponsored the VPN while testing the airpords mic, that was very very smart
Hey Brandon, what is the best EQ setting for the Sony Linkbuds S? :)
The only review I've been waiting for...
Okay, gonna watch now
Oh wow. Thank you!
@@ThisIsTechToday thank you man!
It's so freaking cleaver to talk about your sponsor comparing them.... you're a genius 😎
Haha. Thank you. I figured it’s a win, win, win. Saves everyone time/keeps the video length shorter as well!
