This has been an amazing series. and I thank you all so much and look forward to getting back to NY and the Frick. The program is a sterling example of how museums can get their collections out to the world.
I will miss you so much! This has been such a marvelous series! Visiting the Frick is on my to do list for the future. Thank you again for your insights and insightful comments on this splendid collection!
Many thanks and many congratulations. I´ve been pleased to follow all of you, Xavier, Ami and Giulio. I must actually tell that Cocktails with a Curator has been one of my best expected moments for this special year. Thanks again and good luck for the Frick and for all of you.
I wil so miss my Friday cocktail but more so all that I have learned with Amy, Guilio and Xavier- if anything good came out of this pandemic is that I have made a discovery of the depth of the Frick collection that will never be forgotten
Thank you Giulio! Have a great summer and thank you for your insight. I shall miss these weekly programs. I also must say that seeing the three busts together is breathtaking.
Already starting to feel sad.... Greetings from central Illinois in any case to all "my" weekly companions from Cocktails with a Curator. Will miss you and especially our outstanding mentors. It's been quite a ride, hasn't it?
Thank you Giulio I have so enjoyed getting to know you and learn from you. A new perspective and I knew nothing about marble so this has been amazing. I will miss you and your stories and I do love how you have given us so much about women in art. You have certainly sent me to Amazon for books, to the bookstore at the Frick and even the library to learn more.
would love to visit in person - maybe someday. love the frick madison contemporary displays. i'm really going to miss these lectures. i've learned so much more than i ever did in all my art history classes at university way back when...
Excellence as always from the Frick - too bad we can't commission busts from Verrocchio of Amy, Xavier & Giulio for folks to admire & enjoy 500-odd years from now. Thank you for all of these!
Another interesting look at what Renaissance female portrait bust convey both in their time and in our own. The enduring quest to capture the fleeting notion of beauty in a permanent medium seem to be one of those perennial artistic quests. The examination of how scholarship evolves over time and some of the pitfalls of trying to give the sitter a verifiable identity is rather amusing especially the problematic link of the motifs on the voided velvet on the sleeve of the costume and the testicular rebus on the Colleoni coat of arms.

What about a book featuring all the art presented during this series along with the recipe of the cocktails?
Delightful and informative, as always. Thanks!
Excellent. Many thanks

Love it
This artist is famous? Even beyond the art history world? Dubious statement
if you mean Verrocchio, yes, he is known, he was Leonardo da Vincis' teacher in addition to being a good artist himself
@@lorettabertoli3736 Who are you kidding? Famous as the word ‘cognoscenti’
A boost. During the pandemic
