Thank you! I found you don't really need the glue -- just get a hose ring over the plastic ring line that grabbed the original hose. It's tricky -- but the best method was just to put the plastic piece on the ground with the opening facing down, then push the hose down evenly until it "clicks" over the line. Use a butter knife to get the rest of it across -- this works perfectly with no glue!

New video please, I don't know what a hose ring is or where to put it 😂

@@candytree5135 They just mean one of the ridges that's all along the hose. Once you get once of those partway in the plastic piece, you can lever the rest of that ridge over the lip in the plastic piece with a butter knife or flathead screwdriver

Thank you for a great video. It makes me angry that it has 49,000 views. I paid a lot of money for this vac only 4 years ago and already it has broken it is supposed to be better made. I was surprised at how cheap the hose was when i bought it. Live and learn i guess.

Thanks for this video. I have a Miele S2111 with exactly this problem. I cut the end piece out of the plastic connector (remember to be careful when you do this) and then forced the main hose into the connector past the plastic lip and it looks like it may stay there without glueing.

Thanks - you have helped me fix my hose and saved some money in the process. Like others I haven’t used glue and it is holding up well so far.

You are very close. If you can salvage the plastic fitting ring and tape it to your hose with duct tape, you can reinsert this into the black handle. Soak the plastic fitting ring in hot water for about 10 seconds. This softens the ring and allows it to more easily click into place.

Thanks for this! Tricky getting out broken hose, which seems due to a design flaw to crack about an inch above the joint. BE CAREFUL! Do not push knife in your direction. Once its out, the clean broken end can then be snapped down into place without glue or tape.

Thanks, thought mine was designed different, other make, but tore it down, was the same. There’s a glue that sealed the hose on the tip, used some butyl roof patch to seal it up

Excellent video. Do you need a spare hose? I have a spare now because I needed to change the cuff (hose ring end).
The easy way is get pry tools which are thin and blunt. Where your thumbs press on buttons, insert pry tool to push then another pry tool or thin blade that won't cut into the ring edge and silver hose. In between push the blade in between. Go around then still blade in between, pull hose and cuff apart and it pops.

Thanks for showing this video. This helps if the breach (break in the hose)is near the end of the hose. But what if the breach is in the middle of the hose?
By the way, I believe the word you were looking for was “texture“, referring to the smooth texture of the end of the hose, versus the ribbed texture of the rest of the hose.

I tried this method to solve my hose problem on a Argos Value Vac but it does not work, it just comes out of the bit that fits into the vac :-(
