    What's missing? Western "societies" are now structured as economies. You don't understand what is missing because you have an income and assets that ensure you are part of the economic machine, but increasing numbers of people don't have enough finances. It is no longer financially viable for people to get health care, have children, get further education, etc. Every day becomes a struggle to survive simply because "society" has become an economy.
    People are fighting against each other and are angry because community has broken down. You don't understand because you can afford to pay to fill the gaps that community use to naturally fill, but that now have a price tag.

    • @evypoumpourasofficial
      @evypoumpourasofficial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The breakdown of community and rising costs create real challenges for so many, and it’s something that definitely needs more attention and action. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts.

    • @Peter-mf6gd

      I realize you won’t find this in Marx writings, but the truth is all societies are economies. I haven’t used my degree since I got it. Yet I make good money. I also work 3 jobs because I want to, not because I have to.
      Immigrants from certain demographics are the richest and fastest wealth growing sector of American society. Indians, Asians, and certain African immigrants (Zimbabwe) are attaining more wealth as naturalized or first gen Americans than Latino and American citizens. Why is that? Because they come here and put in the hard work instead of being brainwashed with Marxist propaganda waiting for a socialist handout.
      Proof is in the pudding, contrary to your belief. Capitalist economies create wealth, socialist create widespread poor with a few masters at the top. Stop reading Che and open your eyes.

    • @paulmakinson1965
      @paulmakinson1965 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Peter-mf6gd Like most americans, you repeat the same dogmatic tropes you were brought up on (I work hard, I pull myself up by the bootstraps, people who need government aid are all welfare queens, socialism bad, government bad, personal responsibility etc...). You mind has been shaped by the dogmatic manicheism of the cold War era ("US vs. them", Communism = pure evil atheists, US capitalism pure and good and christian). In both systems, Communist and Capitalists, people were/are reduced to economic assets, to being consumers and producers of wealth. At least, capitalism took a little into consideration the individual. Ideologies are extremely reductive, and one of the reason Communism failed, and capitalism might fail as well. Humans are not cogs in a machine, the economy, as you would have it. The communist machine had become so corrupted that nobody in the USSR believed in it anymore, the social glue had rotted. Humans have more needs than basic food, water, air, clothes and shelter as economists prefer to consider. We are social animals and need a community and a sense of purpose to unite us. Homo Sapiens does not have claws and fangs, it cannot run fast. It did not become the super predator it is, due to those typical physical attributes. Man's superpower is being social and cooperating in very complex ways. We find a community in church, in team sports, working in team for an inspiring goal, whatever suits you. Most importantly, you find a sense of belonging in being a citizen. A country that has no common moral values, no compassion between its members, or/and something inspiring to strive for together, falls apart. When it's every man for himself and its sink or swim for each one, a society devolves into anarchy. It is what happened in Russia first when Communism collapsed under Gorbachev, due to it slowly rotting since the days of Leonid Brezhnev. Then things took a turn for the worse under Boris Yeltsin. Yes, it was pure, unfettered, unregulated capitalism to the point of lawlessness that saw the rise of mafia bosses to power. They are now the Siloviki and Oligarchs that Putin masterfully balances against one another to stay in power. In Russia, both Communism and Capitalism failed its people. Ideologues of all feathers, drown in your tears.

      @@Peter-mf6gdNo. The highest state of Capitalism is Imperialism - Lenin. Fascism is just a rogue Capitalism - Trotsky.
      Unlike Capitalist countries, Communist countries have never waged a war for resource theft.
      Marx and Engels said that the real struggle is between the elites/the capitalists and the working class.
      The US empire spent $5 trillion in Afghanustan and Iraq. The main benefeciaries of those massive spending are the owners of in the the US military industrial congressional and media complex.
      Average people are the victims. The ordinary Afghanistan were the victims of this reclkess war. More than 500.000 Iraqis were killed. Thousands of US soldiers were killed, while the number of suicide commited by US veterans, post 9/11 deployment, is even higher.
      Now, the US debt has reached $35 trillion.

    Hi Evy, I have a question about your perspective on gun control. I’m Australian and I don’t think I would be alive today if my father had a gun. No need to go into details I’m sure you are aware of the insane cruel domestic situations that can occur. Thinking about how lucky I am in Australia where he didn’t have access to a gun, how this could have ended so differently if I was in the states. Do you feel that there should be some level of psych evaluation for gun ownership in the USA?

    I taught in Taiwan and China. Great places but different. I had to learn about soft teaching vs my 2nd job being tough with major discipline and then be able to soften up in due time. When the school didn't give the raise and i left. New teacher cost 25% less but school closed 2 years after i left. Parents reached out and said they pulled their kids because I wasn't there and their children were being taught by another nationality with a very thick accent and very inexperienced. Tough to hear that franchise school shut down but i also have some pride as some parents had their students follow me to my next school. Same thing happened at another school. Hire a cheap or non passionate teacher... emphasis on failure. Sad

    The problem with the world is people who think they’re good and obsess over things like compassion and trying to shape good In people. If you made it this far and think you’re good or role models for good you need help. All the worlds problems will not be solved by being kind and nice. We got where we are now thinking this is an achievable goal. People are inherently not good. We’re all born that way.

    I lived in Egypt when I was 6 years old. My dad worked pipeline. I remember the Coptic Christian children driving a donkey cart who collected the garbage. I remember the poorest people I had ever seen. And I remember how friendly the Egyptians can be. Especially the poor. I've always known the depth of the problems in the Middle East. I have a question. What happens in Eastern Islam. The population of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia is 900 billion. Thats' not including Central Asia. What happens with China? I ask because I am part Indonesian. I don't want a Caliphate. But I don't want a Judeo-Christian endless war on Islam. Because I studied Turkey. As bad as the Ottoman Empire was, there were elements of civilizational development. And the truth is that was the highest level of civilizational development since the Caliphate with the possible exception of the Mugals in India. What the hell is happening? Does the West want to unify Islam against it? Because if that happenes. That might be the first step to the non-West being the dominant force in the world. When we were really guided by our Constitution, then we had better answers. Now? We've forgotten the whole story.

      As a guy from Balkans I can tell you that ottoman empire fondly, they took our children made them slave soldiers, they steal us and persecuted. They destroyed the great culture of byzantine empire. There is no attack on Muslim from christians, they simply defended their territories. Byzantines didn't attacked Muslims, Muslims attacked and conquered christian land and Holy land , in the 700's
