I think going two down was a good chance to show the progress in terms of mentality. It answered questions about Duff's in game decision making too. Onwards and upwards.

I'll be honest i disagree with individual abuse like Ladapo gets but i did boo them off at half time and was less than complementary about the team to the people round me. But i felt that was deserved, both goals we conceded were from amateur defending which combined with the embarrassment of Tuesdays result left me less than happy with the team so i showed them my thoughts along with others. But i did also wait and clap them off as they walked round after as the 2nd half deserved that.
Personally i believe that if they dont put effort in or play sloppy they deserve booing as much as they deserve clapping when they've played well.
With regards to the lack of trust despite the good results it's because we dont inspire confidence. After the crap of last season a lot of fans expected the club to fix their mistake and make the signings to become serious promotion contenders and we dont act like it.
A lot of our wins especially against the worse teams arent dominations like we should be but are ground out results which are good but dont inspire confidence. This confidence is then smashed up when we go on a losing streak or get embarrassed (see Bolton, Northampton and Blackpool).
If we want to fix this we need some stronger performances and proof of resilience i think. A few wins from behind, 3 goal wins, wins from behind or just good wins after we lose would do us wonders and help get the feel good feeling back like in the carlos promotion season.

Hi Mate, thanks for that, I really appreciate the honesty. It's not really the booing that bothers me, it's the abuse. Phil was saying off air that there was a bloke in his 50's in the family area shouting "F*** off Pearson, you f****** useless c***" several times over within earshot of the player and kids around him and I just find that kind of behaviour completely unnecessary. I don't think it's passion and I don't think it's helpful and kids at the footy shouldn't have a bloke foaming at the mouth in their earhole shouting things like that. Granted it's a tiny minority, but it shouldn't even be that. Back to the booing! In terms of booing them off; it's not something I can be bothered doing. When I'm annoyed I don't want to waste my energy on them 😀, but in fairness I do get it, sometimes people need to blow off some steam or let the team know when they're not pleased and it generally doesn't bother me and I'd say that it's fine in all honesty providing that people don't cross that abusive line. I think a point that I was trying to make and probably did a poor job of was that at what stage do we go 0-1 or 0-2 down and the fans don't lose their heads? Should winning 7 home games in a row prior garner a little trust? Has Duff earnt a little leeway etc? Then again I understand that standards can't drop if we're to get out of this league either and reminding the players of that maybe isn't such a bad thing.
Personally I've said since the summer that I think we've got the 2nd best squad in the league and that we are serious contenders and I've seen nothing since then to change my mind. The issues were mostly mental scarring from the previous two years which the players are now starting to get over, although it's taking the fans a little longer. I think the team would have crumbled against the wind at Mansfield a few months ago and lost that game to Lincoln then too. They're getting better mentally, which is great. However, everyone can see that it's not a squad exactly full of flair or goals in the forward areas so I don't think we can expect us to dominate that many sides with ease until that is fixed, but we'll find ways to win games and I think we'll get better as the season goes on.
Thanks for your reply and the support, hope you have a great xmas and new year.
      Matt
