I forgot to mention, any rope that won’t leave stuff in the cylinder will work, the more rigid it is, the more easy it is to feed into the cylinder.
Keep in mind, if the saw is hot, nylon could melt to the piston or cylinder wall, make sure the saw is cooled down. Enjoy!

piston should be at BTDC (before top dead center) not at bottom as shown, to prevent the rope from getting stuck in the exhaust or intake ports.
