EJ, you have no idea how big a deal that is. I promise you, Tom isn't just being nice, that you just did it is really, really amazing. It's awesome to get to watch you learn and grow in this passion of yours.
Tom’s shop has to have the best vibe. The way everyone gets along is just so great to watch. Thanks Tom for the Sick Summer experience and for all the continued great vids!

EJ is learning so much from some of the best in the industry. You can tell she has the drive and the eagerness to learn and the ability to just figure it out on her own.
EJ - Definition: Smart Work Ethic Integrity CUTE as a kitten humble and LOVES fabrication work! Wish I was 25 years younger and her type cause she is marriage material in my book! Keep up the great work, young lady!
Sometimes the smallest part is the most important pieces to the puzzle. For your backwards alt. Get one off of a 2014 to 2018 Jeep JK 3.6 alt. They are designed to be set up backwards.
A lot of people don’t realize how long it takes to fabricate a piece that looks so simple or the satisfaction of fitting it and it works, that little clip of her being so proud of the part and of herself for making it…. I felt that, its a great feeling of accomplishment for sure.
Great job Ej. Building a part, with minimal tools is the best way to become a master fabricator. Spacers and brackets are just important as a nice set of fabricated stainless headers. Just not admired as much. It the time and care you put in to make it perfect, that makes the difference. One piece of advice after 45 years of modifying and Building. Never say that good enough, it only comes with regrets and you end up redoing it later. Lol
you definitely found a Dimond in the rough when you found EJ she going to be a great part of the team, and she will be blessed from all the experience in the shop
E.J. is absolutely beautiful and a man could get lost for years in her eyes. I'm very glad she's stepping up n wanting and willing to learn n be so hands on the whole time.
XS power is a great choice. I have a 30ish thousand watt custom competition car audio build powered by a lot of XS power lithium cells. Thanks for your videos!
Bailey racing at its' finest, except for Bobby.....lol. Great update , EJ is learning ! I see Ayden has become the wiring master. Always interesting , many thanks.
I wish I lived near you guys cause Friday nights are to work on the race car. Nice work guys keep it up and I can't wait to get my 700000 $ t shirt LOL!!!!!!
Smart using cardboard for the mock-up I was at a car show last night some kid had a really nice 70 Nova and he had rain gutters for side pipes what the hell
You laughed and said "it's pretty" It should be. Beautiful part even of its not seen. If you didn't round off the corners and left the edge finish showing the band saw blade marks, you wouldn't be proud of the part...... and neither would anyone else . Beautiful part that you made there. Keep up with your attention to detail. 👍👍👍
I own GM cars that I had to shim the starter on. My Pontiac 455 was bad for shims. I have never needed to shim a Mopar starter in my life but I have heard of someone needing to do it once and now twice but I think all starters need to be shimmed depending on the application.
Way to go EJ 🌕 did you see that moon 🌒 last night,? it's called a blue moon. pretty rare, like you! You did an amazing job with that 5/8" shim, makes it easy to install the starter without dropping 1 of 3 or 4 thinner shims! 🤙😝. Hey Tom, uncle,🤣 how about a t-shirt for Bobby & EJ ? 🤔 "Sick Machinists"👍🏻. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻. ✌🏻🧡🤘🤙🇨🇦.
i admit i never worked on anything new than a 94 dodge , i use a starter for a 90 dodge truck for all my cars it just bolt straight in with no shims or anything
That's always a way to teach the young guns: let them get hands-on, explain stuff, give hints, but also basically let them figure out stuff on their own. There's a distinct difference between telling them every step what to do versus getting them involved. "Learning" and "understanding" are two very different things (as Destin from Smarter Every Day always likes to point out)... 😉✌️
She figured something out most men these days couldn’t! The way kids are raised these days is a travesty and it’s nice to see some people still care about how they teach and raise their children.
have you forgotten all the years that when you bought a chevy starter for your stock non modified setup shims came with the starters because they never fit. stock mopars never ever needed shims for starter its just when you start changing for different applications
I like this episode better cause now you get to see hands on experience being done amongst the crew and even getting to see Tom making stuff and doing installs even though he's the boss he's on the tools. From my last video I watched there was just so much talk and not so much action and when I only get 30 minutes a day to watch a video of like to see the hands-on experience thanks team.
After the initial 'well, that's a dumb way to do lug nuts,' the second most thing I hated about working on Mopars was chasing a brown wire through a firewall and for some unfathomable reason it's suddenly a red wire with a stripe. Augh. :)
EJ, you have no idea how big a deal that is. I promise you, Tom isn't just being nice, that you just did it is really, really amazing. It's awesome to get to watch you learn and grow in this passion of yours.
Well said and I agree 👍
EJ getting it done!
Huge that she took the initiative, figured out her way, and made it.
Give her the MacGyver award.
Better at least spray some primer on that pretty piece. That bare steel is going to rust up and uglify itself in nothing flat.
EJ is too kool for skool, I got to hand it to her for stepping up and making the starter shim, you go girl!
Tom’s shop has to have the best vibe. The way everyone gets along is just so great to watch. Thanks Tom for the Sick Summer experience and for all the continued great vids!

Not sure how EJ made it to your shop but I’m sure happy she did. She’s learning it from the best. Good for her!!!

He's not that good pal....he uses has machines....gcode garbage..every one that owns has machines have to call the factory to get operation done 😂😂😂
Nice work EJ.
Mad respect for learning (and teaching) in front of 100,000 people. None of us here learnt under such scrutiny.

Awesome job E J , the more you make the more you learn!!

Nice job EJ, well done. Mad props for taking the initiative and getting it done. Best way to learn in my opinion!
I look forward to all your videos but they are even better with EJ in them!
E.J. is becoming a badass. Hopefully she will be making passes in 2.0 soon

No matter the way, fabricating is fabricating. EJ did awesome. How bout that?
EJ you are doing great!!!! It all starts with the realizing what needs to be made!!! Keep up the great work!!!!
Initiative like that is how you get to where Bob is later in life! Good for you E.J.!!!!

A buddy of mine actually ran a cardboard tube on a festiva once to see how long it would last, I think he made it about a mile before it blew out.
Bailey racing at its' finest, except for Bobby.....lol. Great update , EJ is learning ! I see Ayden has become the wiring master. Always interesting , many thanks.
Awesome job Ej!
It’s coming along nicely 👍👍
EJ you stole my ❤. You rock!!!
EJ looks like a young Meredith Baxter Burney when she smiles🎉
EJ, You have to change the P to a F on that street sign. Just cause it's Tom and he loves the word Farkin! Nice work on the spacer too!!!!
Awsome work young lady 👏👏👏
Good job EJ take the initiative and just get it done 🤘
I wish I lived near you guys cause Friday nights are to work on the race car. Nice work guys keep it up and I can't wait to get my 700000 $ t shirt LOL!!!!!!

Well done young lady. good job on the spacer.
And everything else. Wasnt expecting that. No disrepect intended. Good stuff
Back in the day college kids would steal road signs and hang them on their bedroom wall.............Tom uses them for flooring on a drag car 😁😁😁
You laughed and said "it's pretty"

Real builds with real struggles
Everyone seems to like what they’re doing ❤❤
Oh yeah got my shirts and stickers and sign today thanks ❤❤
Wow EJ … really nice work 👍👍🏆😁
Just can’t wait for race day! It truly is exciting!
Getting ready to go racing!!!!!
Fantastic job on the spacer it looks Beautiful
Where's Bob when you need him. Great job EJ keep smiling😅 your doing awesome.
HIGH there, looking good!
So usually the Starters dont need spacers /shims the converter guys will move the ring gear to suit the rear engine plate thickness.
I’m an old guy built cars in late 60’s early 70’s out of a 2000 square ft chicken coop. EJ’s solution spacer is how we built stuff,12-18 hours .
Good ol CAD. Cardboard aided design.
Without that part car will never see a track good job
Having fun on a Friday .Did you see your sample sick mag cool tie delivered on Friday
Way to go EJ 🌕 did you see that moon 🌒 last night,? it's called a blue moon. pretty rare, like you! You did an amazing job with that 5/8" shim, makes it easy to install the starter without dropping 1 of 3 or 4 thinner shims! 🤙😝.

✌🏻🧡🤘🤙🇨🇦.
Aj is lucky to have you guys as mentor. Which I had that luck.
Really nice.
Never had to shim a la or big block mopar starter only GM ive had too
Looks like a GM trans behind the Hcat , that explains the starter issue .
So....
Is EJ always high ?
Nice job Ej
As a mopar guy I feel your pain with the starter alignment. Other than stock it is a pain in the a$$
Gosh we need bob there lol you got this Tom
Kinda weird seeing all of these old guys simp on this chick
Does anyone else notice how much Tom says "so, but" when he is talking or explaining something? Lol
Cardboard exhaust, partial crank revolution.
i admit i never worked on anything new than a 94 dodge , i use a starter for a 90 dodge truck for all my cars it just bolt straight in with no shims or anything
You could always run the alternator off the driveshaft in a pinch. Not perfect but it's something.
As far as the alternator goes can you guys not run one off of the rear end? If so then that would save your space issue up front.
SICK IS THE GO
How bout that!!!!

Run Alternator under car from driveshaft? Better weight distribution Hehehe
Liked that the car had an older engine. Not thrilled that its turning into a restomod pretty much.
She figured something out most men these days couldn’t! The way kids are raised these days is a travesty and it’s nice to see some people still care about how they teach and raise their children.
going to be hard to get the air out with the fill lower than the water in the intake
have you forgotten all the years that when you bought a chevy starter for your stock non modified setup shims came with the starters because they never fit. stock mopars never ever needed shims for starter its just when you start changing for different applications
Cardboard exhaust?!? Sounds like a Cleetus thing lol
😂😂😂
Maybe it's just me, but I find EJ to be a lot cuter than AJ.
Wasnt there already a floor in it ?

SICK!!! 😎💪🤮🏁
Early Ford doesn't need any shims! But Chevy you can Shim it to the Moon! Lol 🤔🤔🇺🇲
EJ is a total Fox 🦊
👍
Fords the only one that doesn't use starter shims
My Old Pile Ain’t Running
Hi EJ
Does that make it a real street car because you are using real street signs. Lol
Not laughing at cardboard exhaust, I have seen the plastic kits professionals use for mock up
