Simulating an Ant Colony For 30 Days

This is my Western Harvester Ant colony. Despite starting from a tiny little tube, over the past 30 days, the colony has expanded to an entirely new level. Over the months Ive documented the ant’s lifestyle including them hunting, building shelter, eating and more. I even introduced special predators and prey in order to simulate real world scenarios in the wild.

It’s impossible for ants to grow that fast, it would take at least 2-3 months. You also can’t put ants in a too big of a formicarium as it can stress the colony.

Fire ants can grow pretty damn fast and and I think there red desert harvesters which grow quite fast
