the way he condutcts the crowd on "not the same" always gets to me. So creative. this guy is a legend. So carismatic, epic pianist, good voice, funny, intelligent, easily my top 3 favorite artists ever
I was wondering how they were going to do, "You Don't Know Me" and thought, "oh, without Regina, it'll only be a pale imitation" but the girl filling in did a really good job! Great stuff!
This made my day! I love all of Ben's music but this collaboration rocks! The way they just instinctively picked up the RTB parts without Ben dictating what to play shows how talented these folks are. Nice work, Uncle Ben for showcasing these young musicians.
I saw two shows on this tour. The first one was in Brooklyn, maybe the second or third show of the tour. It was great but a little ragged in places. This performance was extremely tight in comparison. The second show was that November, and at that point something interesting had happened - he was not playing the intro to Not a Fan anymore. The intro was pumped in from the album recording, and he made no effort to hide it. He pretended he was playing it with his ass.
Found it! 18:00 in this video. th-cam.com/video/t4r-AHw9Cu8/w-d-xo.html He was definitely feeling the scotch that night... I'm Not the Man false start at 26:25 lol.
So There is my second favorite solo album from Ben, but I will admit that the production is pretty underwhelming. Can't decide if it wants to be a raw "mics in a room" style of recording like Silverman or if it wants to lean more into Ben's poppy side like Lonely Avenue.
@@SilverStreetyeah. And to me the songs themselves feel undercooked compared to in this performance. Particularly So There and Not a Fan. Those two songs came into their own and hit their stride. Full chords and timings are different.

This guy is masterful. A mix of nerd and punk with a little sugar.
Me and mine have been BFF fans since’98 and seen over a dozen performances. This video is comparable to one of the best (BF and Y Music in Lowell, MA)
I saw that show in Lowell too! Small world (but i wouldn't want to paint it).

Thanks for uploading all these! Always wanted to see more of the live performances with yMusic but YT only had a select few songs from this show.
ben is on violin, drums, piano, and vocals
Off the charts brilliant!!!!❤

this is probably the best comment i've ever gotten on this channel
11:09 long way to go... gee what's that about ben?
This performance was so good that I was actually disappointed with the studio versions once I got my hands on the album.

41:58 cup drop 💯
Man, who is the Flutist/Singer? I couldn't understand Ben.
Your mouth ...Sheesh. I guess this is what holds the crowd these days....and be sure to announce that you're drinking whiskey.
