I am watching this most enjoyable Book launch function at my home in Sydney, Australia on 30/06/2024. I was thrilled to see two of my best friends, Mogamad and Ebrahim Salie, in the audience. Mabrook to the author and the organising committee.
01/06/2024.Error in the date of my previous comment (should be 31/05/24). Speaking to my wife this morning about watching the Muir Street Masjid documentary. She confirmed that her mother taught at that school for many years and my wife has memories of attending fund raising Bazaars there with her mother. It is indeed a small world. Her mother was Mrs Fatimah Abrahams who was a sister of Haji Hassiem Edross, former Principal of a Muslim school in Elsies River and previous secretary of the MJC. A bit of information of ourselves, if it interest anyone, my father, Shakoer Toefy, was a teacher at Talfalah Institute in Claremont for a number of years. We immigrated to Australia in February 1979. My wife and her sister, both headed pioneering Muslim schools here in Sydney for many years.
