Hi...I have this similar wired smoke alarm that came pre-installed in my home from over 25 years. It has been giving me false alarms and beeps randomly, sometimes incessantly, likely due to dust/humidity. The wiring I see in my unit is black, white and yellow..but my unit is almost identical the one you have in your video. The yellow wire is not connected to anything in the ceiling. I do not have other interconnected wired alarms in the home elsewhere. So I assume the yellow wire is the interconnect wire that has no function in my home?
my alarms are yellow but there from 2017 but my older smoke alarm i replace small parts on it like the sensor and it still works but last week my house caught fire an the old alarm went off an we made them but what i dont understand is why they only last 10 years
It's frustrating that devices designed to save lives don't last longer. I hope you're safe and your family is safe and you didn't lose a lot from the fire. That's scary.
