Gatlinburg's Anakeesta Vlog 2022! Bears, Chondola Ride, Treetop Skywalk at Night, BBQ & More!

- Join us for our first time at Anakeesta in Gatlinburg Tennessee where I share our full experience during their fall event, Hallow Mountain 2022, where the park is open day and into the night! We take the chondola (gondola... in a chair!) up 600’ to the summit of Anakeesta Mountain (and try not to be terrified), to a very fun attraction-filled park, made extra vibrant with fall & Halloween decorations, including the super cool singing Hallow Mountain, during their special fall event, where the park stays open after dark for some incredible sunset and night time views and activities! We enjoy delicious BBQ and beers, SEE A FAMILY OF BEARS, climb through a long course of high up rope bridges, the Treetop Skywalk, after dark (the longest tree-based skywalk in North America with 880′ of spectacular hanging bridges suspended 50-60′ in the air - all lit up at night with sparkling lit up trees!), climb the incredible Anavista Tower to get stunning views of the Smoky Mountains and see the fall colors starting to bloom in the trees, and so much more! We also take the Ridge Rambler down so I can show you a different mode of transportation in case the slightly terrifying chondola isn't your thing - and we get some glimpses of their upcoming Astra Lumina events and see a lot of the beautiful lights as we ride down the mountain! All in all a wonderful time seeing this park in the day and after dark for their special fall event Hallow Mountain and all the beautiful views, scary heights and fall colors in the beautiful Gatlinburg Tennessee in 2022! I’m getting the feeling these Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge seasonal trips could become a regular thing for this channel. Some people think that would be a good thing. I, on the other hand, feel it would be a GREAT thing!

Love seeing the autumn colours! Such a fun trip. It's funny... you go on roller coasters that I would never in a million years go on (I think Space Mountain is scary 😸) but I love going up to Park City for the weekend in the autumn and taking a ski lift in Deer Valley or Sundance to the tippy top of the mountain. Thank you for another fun vlog!
And the gondolas at Snowbasin are awesome! I used to take them up and then hike to the peak. Also, the Sunday Brunch at the Lodge was to die for!
There's a restaurant half way up at Deer Valley we love to go to for brunch. Will have to check out Snowbasin one of these days.

Im from Florida too and I’m been enjoying your Tennessee videos a lot , watching all this autumn colors in the smoky mountain and decorations . I think this is the best time to visit .

We love Gatlinburg and went to Anakeesta for the first time last year the weekend before Thanksgiving. We were there during the day but was really windy and cold so we waited and waited in line for an enclosed gondola, it was worth the wait. We loved the tower and all of the attractions on top of the mountain. But those bridges, I was still walking like I was walking on them for a long time after we got off. We took the rambler down also because the other lines were so long but still had to wait. It's a great time. Thanks for showing, we will probably not get to go this year.

OK, I'm jealous now. We haven't been back the mountains yet this fall, but WOW, it is beautiful. We went to Anakessta the year it opened and haven't been back yet. Now seeing this, I have to plan a trip (probably with Just Out n About) and check it all out. So much more to do and see there now and seeing those bears was cool. They were so close to people and the people had no idea. I really enjoyed this, you and Sam are great. Hope to see yall soon!!

We went to Dollywood for the first time this past Spring and had a great time, but it was a whirlwind trip so we didn't get to see any local things, just Dollywood. Your videos are definitely making me want to make another trip to the Smokies to see more! Though I don't think I could brave all those rope bridges like you did! But so glad you could share your experience so I could see the beautiful views!

Watching this video, I am having flashbacks to when I rode this. I am feeling you Jackie. When we were going down. It started raining, I mean a downpour. It was so scary. I kept feeling like I was going to slip out. Lol Then I slipped when I was getting off. But otherwise I love Gatlinburg ❤️ beautiful views

I've never been there, maybe next time. When you were in the chair lift I was thinking, Oh hell no. I'm taking the bus. Then you were on the bus and I'm thinking, I wonder if there's a way to walk! The food and view looked great. The coaster looked much slower than the one at Goats On The Roof. Not walking the rope bridges. Miss the purple shoes. You need a new pair.

Our first time at Anakeesta was during covid. All of a sudden a large group of people started coughing and scattering. We thought someone had a covid cough. It turns out they were a couple of bears in the area and they were spraying bear spray because they had gotten way too close to the people. We’ve been several times and always see bears 🐻

Lol, the Bears , funny as heck. They used to eat our trash if we took it out the night before and they walked down our street in Virginia. So funny seeing your reaction, but true on that coaster, I would have my Bear spray with me.

Hi Jackie! We were at Anakeesta this summer. We were actually in the area at the same time when you visited in July. I am absolutely terrified of heights but took the chairlift up as well. I was a mess and pretty much had my eyes closed the whole time. It is absolutely beautiful there with the views and just the whole atmosphere. I was hoping when you started with this series that you would be going there. Definitely a place not to miss. Thanks for vlog!
Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is THE spot to go to for locals in the Fall. Plus most of TN schools are out for Fall Break this week and last.
Anakeesta is my FAVORITE place to go in Gatlingburg, went in May 2019 and was not packed at all. It’s absolutely a must do for people who haven’t done it.

I work on the coaster. Those bears you saw are Honey, Nut, and Cheerio. They shut down the coaster all the time. We had to shut down the coaster for two hours one day until they left. They have never hurt anybody yet. We have never had a bear injury at the park i believe. I'm glad you enjoy our park

We’re so so so glad that you guys got to explore and experience Anakeesta! 😍We tried to get in, but it was so crowded on the one day of our visit that it we couldn’t even find parking, let alone board the gondola, so we just drove further up the road and defaulted to Skylift Park instead. Thanks to you, we finally get to see what the park actually looks like! I’m not typically scared of heights or of lift chairs, but I would definitely be sweating a little if the chairs were creaking all the way up the hill. Bears are so cool and fun to see, we did get to encounter some furry friends pretty close up at Skylift; but not _quite_ as close as that woman was to them on the single-rail! I would worry more about the bears getting hurt by the coaster than the coaster getting hurt by the bears, tbh. 😂Glad they made it safely across the track and back into their wooded home! This place really is beautiful, love the little pumpkin show and the decorative displays (Hi, Willow!). The different views from each tier of the structure make it so fun to keep climbing higher and exploring further. This is on the must-do list for our next visit, no doubt! Thanks for facing your fears and taking us to the top of the peak to experience all of this!

The views all lit up throughout the trees are fantastic but the sky bridge is ferocious!!! I cant believe you actually walked that entire bridge!!! Awesome 👍!!! The down ward view looked like multi colored fireflies sparkling in the night!!! It was an extremely wonderful view!!! Attaboys to you both for a great Fall video!!!

It’s the open air slow things like this that are much scarier! It’s different 😅😅😅
Quick chairlift tidbit. There are two types - detachable and fixed. An excellent example of a detachable is the Disney Skyliner. In order to facilitate loading, the gondola actually comes off the main cable which is moving too fast to safely load/unload. You know it comes on/off the main cable with that unnerving swing as you enter or leave the station. Fixed chairs stay on the cable and can only move at the load/unload speed. Down south, this is usually much slower than at Vermont ski resorts...

Gatlinburg is absolutely GORGEOUS this time of year! LOVE getting to see all the incredible fall leaves. If you get the chance you should deff head back to Dollywood this time of year. The train ride is so beautiful and a great way to see all the changing colors as well.

My little family of 4 just spent a week in gatlinburg! My little girls watched your blog with me and they thought it was so coool a TH-camr was where we were. Hahaha.
We went soon after Anakeesta had opened and they have added so much. I so need to go back. My son and his family was there just last week. When we went my 19 year old daughter (at that time) had a full on panic attach as we were going up. They did offer the tram at that time. We did however wait for the enclosed one for the way down. You are very lucky to see the bears, WOW!!!! I'm not the greatest at heights myself. I like to look out, but not over or down. I would never be able to do the big swinging bridge with the glass in the middle that is on the other side of the strip in Gatlinburg either. Thank you for another awesome video!!
