***** I bought one for dirt cheap, 43bucks brand new. Only illuminates half the keyboard, was made to highlight on the WASD area pretty much. Then it has that logo everybody hates. For 43 bucks for a mechanical keyboard, with detachable usb cord that is braided. Its the best logo ever :P
I have been running the bag for the past five years and its served me great, no rips or tears only some broken buckles from shoving it in a way to small locker everyday for four years. But now I think its time to upgrade to the LTT backpack, its been a good bag a good bag.
Would actually like to see LTT and other techfluencers (gamersnexus colab perhaps, or ijustine) compare these bags. Or even just other perspectives from people who didn't participate in the design.
So basically it's pretty much a military style backpack with razer logo on it and price tag which has number lil wee too high for what it really is. I think I'd just go ahead and buy a military backpack instead.
Verithiell My thoughts exactly - Which is actually a very sound idea. Get one at a military supply store to save some sough - and support a less wasteful industry by buying pre-owned.
+Mansen Your encouraging buying from a fucking surplus store, ie the shit the military buys to much of and basically gives away. Reduction is much more efficient than reuse. or are you cheap shit that the army navy stocks

Anyone else here from the LTT backpack video? Linus came a long way indeed, and is still kickin. Can't believe I've been watching his video for over 7yrs. Time really does flies. He looks so young in this video, and I look so old in the mirror.
I'm just watching this again, but those velcro attached pouches are just begging to be stolen in a busy street. Especially since you're walking with a bag that just screams how much money you have to spare.
I just got one of these over the Holidays, and it IS NICE! Those pouches are actually ON THERE. You would know if someone was trying to grab one, as they are not easily removed.
nobody using public transit frequently would buy this shit, and nobody who buys a 180 dollar backpack would use public transit. If they o, they'd be those wierdoes who wear their backpack on the front to prevent "robbery"
frankopan klaric Look on ssense. You can spend $3000+ on backpacks on there ;) Though yes, this is shitty ugly merch. No comparison to the designer ones on ssense.
Divert Atomic someone who goes out in nature a lot, and depends on it. Kinda sucks to have the backpack break while in the middle of nowhere doesn't it?
bassl0va Wow, you're one thrifty spender. 3k for some fabric and straps, what a deal! Seriously though... 725 dollars for something that looks identical to a $40 Jansport bag. I bet the Jansport bag out performs that marked up French shit anyhow.
Seeing how this video is 3 years old now is a testament to how well designed this bag is. Most "tactical style" bags today still carry pretty much this same design, & it still works very well. It's a stellar layout with just that perfect amount of specialized and general storage to get you through pretty much whatever the day may ask of you. As far as the pricing goes- I'll be damned if it still doesn't cost damn near the exact same, almost to the penny.
This is still easily the best bag I’ve ever owned. It’s wonderful, from weekend trips to longer stays away I’m constantly surprised at just how much I can cram in it, and taking one of these round an airport on a trip is FAR better than a trolley bag and will allow you to get away with much more than if you were using a trolley bag. I love this bag, it’s comfy, can hold tons of stuff and then some, and after using it on 20 trips so far it’s held up beautifully, no marks, no scuffs, no rips, no tears. Truly a really nice backpack that shows no sign of giving up any time soon
@@gerardonavarro3400 yeah it’s an amazing bit of kit. I’ve got a slight tear in mine from overloading it so much that I need to get stitched, but aside from that it’s been such a good bag. It’s crazy how much stuff you can fit in it
@@todanielharrow that's amazing to hear honestly, crazy to see how razer can do highest quality products at times, i'd love to buy these but the newest bags don't convince me...
LMG should totally do more backpack reviews. This is really cool video, and for people who go to a lot of LAN parties, or like to take gaming gear to school/around college campuses to play with friends during free periods or whatever its surprisingly relevant, I'd say. Anyway, awesome video guys.
For the front velcrob patches, Run some Molle Military style pouches, Could get one for a 30 round ak mag that'd have elastic straps to hold that water bottle :P It'll have to be "Custom fitted" for the molle
Why do laptop backpacks put the laptop section directly against your back? The more weight you put in the bag, the more it crushes your screen into the keyboard.
syperchaic Because that is where they can make the largest pouch. Also, a laptop is heavy. The further you move it away from your back the heavyer it will be to carry around. Plus, then everything will be crushing your screen into the keyboard.
Because probably the laptop you're carrying is the heaviest thing you are carrying, so it is better for your shoulders and back if the heaviest weight is nearest your body. Not to mention it feels lighter:D
Animiles Largest pouch is a good point. You lean forwards to balance with a heavy backpack regardless, which sandwiches the laptop between back and bag load. Running makes damage worse as bag bounces around.
I have this backpack, at 5:25 where the black mesh meets the 4 shallow green pockets, it is separated. the strings came loose from going back and forth to classes (college) and would recommend the Astro Scout backpack over this.
The loop at the top of the bag, I believe that's for a hydration pack. You see them quite a bit in camping and hiking bags. This bag is kind of a hybrid of a laptop bag and a hiking bag, which is awesome.
Legit back pack. I'm a electrician and use the Klein Tradesman Pro Tech Backpack and I love it. i'm also a huge computer hobbyist and lately been getting calls to repair pc's or swap hardware as much as I get calls to change lights or heaters. I was going to buy the Klein smaller IT bag but now I might buy this if I keep getting IT calls.
Please don't see my comments as criticism, but rather outside-the-box thinking. Why not use the "side straps to secure the pouch lid" (@4:35), to hold the water bottle? As for the writing stuff? Is there something wrong with the 10, or so, velcro loops on the front of the bag? You know, where you didn't like the Razer patches ... I store Sharpies and pens there, on mine, and it works perfectly. No need to open the bag, when I need to get a writing instrument.
+MihealMLG FYI, I work for a publicly-listed company in a management role and wear the Razer backpack to my meetings and on business trips. I've only gotten praises so far. Looks god damn cool as hell as far as I'm concerned.
i know its not a "gaming gear bag" but my fave is the Jconcepts RC backpack. while the bag it self is not an RC device it was made to hold them so the bags main compartment is HUGEE. lasted me 2 years now with zero issues. maby fit a desktop in it?
Got me a new one on eBay for 70 dollars. Still has the tags on it. Just waiting for it to get shipped, and arrive now. Probably going to use it for some magic the gathering cards, binders, um deck boxes/dice. I hope I can make more use of it tho.
If you wanna make more use than actually put workstation laptop stuff in it. Though that’s still massively overpriced considering the pathetic straps and back padding. I got a $50 backpack in today money with actual support leagues ahead of this.
Say all you want but I bought this and I am very happy, comfortable, roomy, and looks amazing, have traveled with it and have only a few flaws like someone commented, easy to open pockets, I wish they add harder larger velcro on the side and MOLLE pockets because I feel angsty of people being able to open and take stuff without me noticing. The chest strap is kinda short and I will love to have the option of belt support. I also wish they added a 4th MOLLE strap between the middle and lower strap s I could attach the MOLLE pouches higher or over 2 looks instead of just one but still amazing, not perfect but amazing,
For people looking for a new laptop backpack, check out the targus drifter II. It has all of the features the razer backpack has except the velkro pouches in the front. It's of high quality aswell, has an a bit more practical design, small an compact when theres not much stuff in it, but can expand by a lot when you need the space. I bought it just before razer released theirs, and as a razer fan I'm glad I did it, and would swap it for the razer one.
Just got mine last week, fantastic thing. I put my water bottle in the side pouch and forgot to close it, so it ended up leaking all over in inside of the pouch. I got all worried but found that while that pouch, and the bottom of the bag were covered in water, the inside was perfectly dry!
I have a High Sierra backpack the name of which I forgot. Only $50, and really quite nice. Comfortable, has 2 straps in the front, and holds a *ton* of stuff if you need it to. I can put my "gaming laptop" AKA stupid sony vaio, my asus x401a (Yes, I know. It only cost $300..), my solar phone charger, battery backup, 2 massive jars of trail mix which are essential, my microphone, 3 wireless mice, and a whole buttload of other stuff and still have an entire section empty.
DelusionalLogic Well your user name is amusingly ironic in this case. The FTC doesn't give two shits about some small time tech reviewer, besides, he's from Canada so the FTC's rules don't even apply. Besides, its well understood that tech and gaming reviewers/critics receive free products for the purpose of review.
They give people stuff to review all the time. Obviously if the guy sees an opportunity to give Linus a product he might like, he'll take it. Because If Linus likes if that means we hear his opinions on it. That causes them to sell more.
+Sixthecourier And Banana older stuff, yes. lately.... god no those laptops are being sold at a loss I swear, if I wasn't holding out for the inevitable Razer blade pro I'd have gotten the blade already.
I'd like to see a 2 year follow up video about wear and tear, as well as possible design improvements, and how it's being used. Even a recommendation for a possible upgrade.
Pick pockets dream expensive bag full of expensive stuff easy to get into great .. .But maybe you are out in the woods where there are no pickpockets..... Then your not gonna need all your computer stuff are you .... Typical razor over designed over priced and a flawed idea
Sisteelin Its not my area the pickpockets live in ..they can not afford it ....Pickpockets keep coming down from your shitty arse area and polluting my area .....I can tell ..because they all stink of shit ...:p
Sisteelin no it was a joke that was one up from your shit comment that is for .sure ....just like this comment is all so one up from your come back comment that puts me up.....2 - 0.. to me ..
This is the perfect backpack to carry my Alienware M17 around. Hopefully it would fit cause this has all the features that I want, my only gripe is that overt Razer logo.. I hope there is a way to actually mute that thing since I plan to use this as I commute to and from work, and that logo would gather a lot of unwanted attention.
ive had this bag for going on two years now, and i love it, but i do have a few complaints. i wish the middle pocket opened wider and that the strap padding was better and it can be a bit too bulky for just everyday use. but its a good bag and has held up extremely well to my abuse. i honestly dont have any noticeable wear. and rhe velcro on the front is molle compatible, i bought a molle grenade puch that i use for my mouse as its a smaller pouch than the included ones and lets me use those pockets for my gunnars and other things
Come on Linus, side straps are always used for cinching the bags to make them smaller whether full or usually when closer to empty. Bigger to smaller. Actually I wish more people new this so whether in tight spaces like trains, buses, crowds, sporting events, music concerts they did not hit people when turning quickly and forget they have a backpack on.
It's not really a competitor to the razer backpack you should review the bride and takata backpack which is made out of bride racing seat material for the bag and green racing harnesses for the straps
has a pouch that i use to store medication so its not lost in the main compartments(stores medication in the main compartment anyway) also has a little zippered pocket for sd cards so there not lost (stores sd cards in the non zippered pouch)
Love the bag. I use the PowerBag with a builtin battery to charge my phones. Something like that would be good to review if you could. I love mine. I Got it about 3 years ago for Fathers day.
Could you review the Razer Mercenary bag? They have only a vague description of the bag, and I need to know the spes like dimensions. I think that video could help a lot of people researching what bag to buy.
Man, this video reminded me i'm still using an asus bag that came with my old G71, black/green and it's survived years of abuse and is still going strong despite being used at once time as a ghetto set of weights with like 15kg in it lifting by the handle. Maybe there is something to this whole gaming bag thing after all
Hey Linus i am an advanced age man that just discovered tech channels on youtube. I have been watching all of your videos to the realization of just how much i do not know about tech. i have been a mobile Dj for 33 years, so all of my computer work has to do with music. Unlike a lot of my colleagues I do not use a "Mac" . I play a windows based gaming laptop (Republic Of Gamers) used only for Dj work also I am addicted to backpacks (no less than 30 in my home) my favorite being the Ogio Renegade. Thanks for the info you provide. Quite helpful to this "Old Man" in trying to navigate the tech world
I have a Mil-Tec Assault Pack in daily use, it fit's my laptop, laptopcharger, wireless mouse, 3-5 notebooks a couple of lecture reference books and an elephant, (pssst Linus, it has pen holder compartments) also it has those MOLLE-to allow for the attachment of various MOLLE-compatible pouches and accessories. oh and it costs only 30€. There's a Finnish army surplus store called "Varusteleka" that sells them. (optional english website if you don't want to learn finnish)

Plz link the video
Hydrogen fuel cell video
+MLP_Bailey found it :)
where does it light up?
i know its not a "gaming gear bag" but my fave is the Jconcepts RC backpack. while the bag it self is not an RC device it was made to hold them so the bags main compartment is HUGEE. lasted me 2 years now with zero issues. maby fit a desktop in it?
Got me a new one on eBay for 70 dollars. Still has the tags on it. Just waiting for it to get shipped, and arrive now. Probably going to use it for some magic the gathering cards, binders, um deck boxes/dice. I hope I can make more use of it tho.
If you wanna make more use than actually put workstation laptop stuff in it. Though that’s still massively overpriced considering the pathetic straps and back padding. I got a $50 backpack in today money with actual support leagues ahead of this.
That backpack is bigger than Linus. LoL.
And likely bigger than me as well.
that backpack looks like you could take it on an adventure into the woods
+Undertale Trash ;3 Asia*
I'm going to go take a nap.. When I wake up, this comment better have at least 35 likes. READY? GO!
Good luck
LaffBath nofuckyou
I hope it's a long nap
LaffBath wut da fuk
LaffBath 1 like left. have fun.
Linus the side buckles they're called compression straps. They're for lessening the possibility of your stuff moving around inside your bag.
I also wish they added a 4th MOLLE strap between the middle and lower strap s I could attach the MOLLE pouches higher or over 2 looks instead of just one but still amazing, not perfect but amazing,
Can i put a console in there Linus??
I managed to cram an xbone in there so yea
Kk :D Thx Underman Brian
+Underman Brian thank you so much, been scouring the internet to see if an xbone would fit xD
+Jasmin B. Vallejos I don't know, Can you?
Refeat Playz I don't know,how bout you?
Oh look! An expensive backpack with the Razer logo on it to let everyone know that my 2000$ gaming laptop is *completely* safe inside.
Why is the video 9 minutes and 11 seconds ? 9:11 9/11
fuck you gad id call the police m8 rekt
+Grand Papi It's actually 9:10
Sooooo....
+DkGamer Brothers it is actually 9:11
Danish Hax No, it's actually not -.-
Mobile increases time by 1 second ,i believe so.
I love hard-wearing backpacks. I've been using a Tamrac one for my photo gear for the better part of 7 years now and it's still going strong.
i just want to know were he got that hoodie
5:19 I think gamers only drink mtd, so, why razer didn't you put a fridge at the back????????+++\\\
D0M3 CS:GO it's been 2 years, how are you doing?
D0M3 CS:GO I hate mountain dew doe
that beginning
What a second??? you had dinner with someone from razer and they gave you a FREE bag???
how does that not cloud your judgment on this review dude...
I know but AT DINNER
seems a bit much when its so personal
Duckboy Jacob At least Linus disclosed that before the review. That gives you the opportunity to take his review in whatever light you see fit.
I'm starting to feel like a Razer fanboy, but they keep coming out with practical (yet a bit flashy) products that I actually like.
i'm glad someone shares that experience lol, was worried I was the only one
+Phreezyy they only truly stupid product I've seen from them is the firefly, and that would be forgiven if it just had pass through.
+Phreezyy but it's all to expensive
+Sixthecourier And Banana older stuff, yes. lately.... god no those laptops are being sold at a loss I swear, if I wasn't holding out for the inevitable Razer blade pro I'd have gotten the blade already.
I don’t like the keyboards or mice but things like the phone this backpack and other weird things are growing on me
Razer should have a Chroma airhorn bundled with their backpacks :D so that all Razer fans can identify themselves clearly :D
2year old comment but still funny xD
I'd like to see a 2 year follow up video about wear and tear, as well as possible design improvements, and how it's being used. Even a recommendation for a possible upgrade.
Don Bolton yea that would be good
the back velcro loops are MOLLE compatible so you can easy add on a water bottle pouch from 5.11,Camelbak or any other brand you like
razer ipad
It's called the Edge Pro.
Pick pockets dream expensive bag full of expensive stuff easy to get into great ..
.But maybe you are out in the woods where there are no pickpockets.....
Then your not gonna need all your computer stuff are you ....
Typical razor over designed over priced and a flawed idea
Not everyone lives in a shit hole with pickpockets like you.
Sisteelin
Its not my area the pickpockets live in ..they can not afford it ....Pickpockets keep coming down from your shitty arse area and polluting my area .....I can tell ..because they all stink of shit ...:p
InkDropFalls If that was your attempt at a roast, it failed almost as hard as you trying to convince me you live in a nice area.
Sisteelin
no it was a joke that was one up from your shit comment that is for .sure ....just like this
comment is all so one up from your come back comment that puts me up.....2 - 0.. to me ..
InkDropFalls You must have dropped out of school, your grammar is terrible. No wonder you flip burgers for a living.
Whelp, who else got this recommended after watching the launch of the LTT Backpack?
Apple
Beats
Razer
overfuckingpriced
+Quantum HD no alien ware is pretty good apple definitely tho
+Tantei Dzint no. Razer is not like that a lot of times. deathadder... Just saying
what about supreme
Wwwwhat? Razer tactical bag doesn't have RGB LED??? fake! (lol)
wanna hear a joke?
razer
hehehe
Regular Yugoslav lmao. Funny joke bro.
Msi*
Come on Linus, side straps are always used for cinching the bags to make them smaller whether full or usually when closer to empty. Bigger to smaller. Actually I wish more people new this so whether in tight spaces like trains, buses, crowds, sporting events, music concerts they did not hit people when turning quickly and forget they have a backpack on.
JanSport Firewire is all you need for half the price ;) main problem is, it's 2012 model, though its still on amazon
Maybe there is something to this whole gaming bag thing after all
0:14 has the graphics card from tarkov in the background (asus 750ti)
Hey Linus
i am an advanced age man that just discovered tech channels on youtube. Quite helpful to this "Old Man" in trying to navigate the tech world
Wow haha that Pre intro was awesome! Loved the video!
You can buy a water bottle holder, more pockets of all shapes and sizes, and more Velcro patches if you look for molle webbing accessories.
Mother got me a Swiss Gear Pegasus for college. Four years later it still looks new and hasn't failed me ^_^
LinusTechTips just give you all the detailed info you need that others don't feel the need to look into. Gread vid!
2:10
That’s the best idea I’ve ever heard!
Or seen o whatever I’m gunna try that
Ready for the LTT backpack now!
Hi Linus, do you have any idea what bag would fit my GT72 2QD, its a thick MSI 17.3 laptop, just cant find bags in the UK.
+SalterHD if I may answer your question, yes it is. laptop compartment size of that bag is 17.3 inches.
