- John grew up "surrounded by tractors, cows, and horses", in Ellensburg, Washington, and has stated that as a child he wished to be a limousine driver and a fighter pilot.
John served active duty in the United States Air Force as a loadmaster for the C-17 Globemaster airplane at the 4th Airlift Squadron and is a military veteran.
The idea for Blippi came to John after moving back to Ellensburg and witnessing his then two-year-old nephew viewing low-quality videos on TH-cam.
The first Blippi video was published on January 27, 2014. He also has foreign language channels based on his main channel for Spanish and German.
He'd spent his early career in brand development, digital content creation, and online marketing. He also worked a number of odd jobs from dishwasher to cameraman.
His mother made his first costume, which has now become his trademark.

My 4 year old loves him he has so many blippi stuff I don’t care if he got rich out of it because he puts smiles on my sons face and that’s all I care. He is a genius becoming that.

Very nice video but I didn’t understand one word that you said.. Maybe two words
Blippi may be fun but he's not very educational. He can't even spell "syrup" correctly in his so called "educational" videos. I have had to suffer though many of his misinformation videos as I have young children. Even my 4 year old finds fault and calls this guy "flippi".
Other than the occasional misspelling, his videos are educational and don't have misinformation in them. Blippi is one of the few unproblematic creators on youtube especially. He is great for kids.
@@morganpoff4237 Not. You need to pay more attention to what your children are watching. What I mentioned was just the tip of the berg. Blippi is riddled with misinformation. He gets away with it because parents are generally lazy, and too busy watching their own trash.
