Are those food checkpoints compulsory stops for a minimum time period? So that everyone gets the food and possibly medical attention required? Without affecting the result.
Not compulsory to stay for any longer than needed but has an 8 hour maximum time limit. The top runners tend to go through in 10-15 mins but then stop for sleeps of around 90mins - 2 hours at checkpoints further up. The top 2 men only slept for 2hours 20mins this time in total!
Arghh! Must have missed this one 10 months ago! So looking forward to January! I will hopefully see you in Byrness Sam. Have a great race!
