    I prefer the Global 8000, the extra 4 mtrs of cabin makes a massive difference, + they have similar operation costs annually. The whole point of having a private jet is the ability to move around quickly, 0.94 wins the race.

      So here is the real life situation. Nobody flies at redline. So your “0.94 wins the race” has no meaning really. It will never cruise at that speed. The G800 has a 0.925 redline, but will also never fly that fast.
      Both can only get that long range at 0.85. Only with short and medium trips, will they fly 0.90.
      The 0.92 will reduce the range even more, which means the time difference will just be a minute or two.
      The Global is significantly heavier. Shut the wings are basically the same, as well as the engines, power wise. So the global will be stuck at lower altitudes for much longer than the G800, which means higher fuel burns and higher cost.
      Amongst pilots, it’s well known that performance numbers given for the Gulfstreams are usually a bit conservative, so the airplane will always outperform what Gulfstream says. The global are always the opposite. Always a bit too optimistic.
      Only thing that goes for the global, is the extra length of the cabin, but of course, you can buy the G700 if that’s what you need.

    Bombardier SRX presidential jet once flew from Canada to Gaborone, Botswana. I saw it in 2010 when it had just arrived at the airport near the presidential hangar..

    No comparison. Several reasons exists why Netjets, VistaJet and others dont use Gulfstream.

    Do your homework, the max speed (M0.85) hat you quote for the Gulfstream 800 is the long range cruise speed! Also, at a typical cruise altitude the Global 8000 can’t cruise at M0.94.
