      Had to stop watching. I hate seeing Black folks cater to right wing white racist viewpoints. You need to think deeper than gunshots and robberies. There is no contradiction in this song. He’s touching on violence in the Black community, but also touching on the circumstances that have contribute to that. Every single person is born with the potential to be a “thug” or to be doctor. So what conditions exist that sway people one way or the other? Those who benefit from white supremacy, choose to tell those who have been oppressed by it, that self accountability is the only way. Because that takes all accountability off of the system that benefited/benefits them. Pac preached both self accountability AND holding the system/people who created/uphold the system accountable. Your views, do nothing but allow those who want to uphold that system feel comfort in their evil.

    It’s amazing to me that you call yourself a 90’s “hip hop head” but still can’t see the point of a song recorded in the 90’s. You completely missed the point.
    Only God can judge me doesn’t mean to do whatever you want and don’t take responsibility. It means that people were judging him left and right. This album dropped after he was shot and sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit. While in prison people were trashing him. Wendy Williams started a rumor about Pac being assaulted in prison. The whole east coasts and the media were going at him, while he was sitting in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
    That’s where the title comes from. The whole song is filled with gems but you pick out the most ridiculous thing and put in your “2024” perspective. No offense to you, you may be from Brooklyn or whatever but you don’t seem very street smart to me.
    Pac saying the part about every black man strapped isn’t about them going out and shoot each other. Listen to the whole build up until this point and what comes after. He’s talking about strapping up against the “government”.
    You’re a huge BIG fan do you also analyze BIG’s words from a 2024 perspective? Or do you literally believe BIG when he said “peel more skin than Idaho potatoe”? The only reason big would peel that many potatoes were to eat them anyways. So try to think about Pac’s songs from a “bigger picture”. It’s usually “more power to the people” than, let’s kill one another. Yes he has violent songs too but the man was tested all the time. Stop having this “white mentality” approach.

    • @JonathanGonzalez-jz4td

  • @Ca2Va
    @Ca2Va 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    In the beginning, Pac was talking about black people killing each other but later in the song when he is talking about black men being strapped, that’s in response to protecting themselves from corrupt police. That was big back in the 90’s.
    Also, when you talk about moving out of the hood or bad areas, Pac did move around a lot and saw the struggle black people were facing was similar no matter where he went. Treach said that’s why he connected to so many people. He could tell you what hoods were like in a lot of places.
    Watch Resurrection if you haven’t already. Great content from his own mouth.

I could be wrong, but I definitely don't recall. As for self defense, the rules aren't equal. All it takes is for the "lighter" sect to say, "I feared for my life!" and their self defense seems to be accepted. Not so much for the darker

Let me ask you, do you think Tupac chose to be driven into poverty, moving city to city due to a drug addicted mom. Did he choose that fate? He did make a choice to go out on his own at a young age away from his drugged mom. But this song talks about the choices that his environment, his society at the time , made available to him and his peers. That's why he says Only God can judge him.

    This guy is hatin big time and really don't know nothin about Pacs life.. thats why he don't get the point Pac making with his songs.
    How This Guy Hip-Hop head? and don't know Pac? Bro.. Pac made Hip-Hop for Hoes and all of this hood shit, to deliver it like that he changed rap even back then everybody copied him. He prolly even know ´that Pac made Biggie and was treating him like a lil brother. Back Then Pac sold 5 Million in 2 Months Biggie on the other Hand couldn't get pass 2M after a year. Man Nobody could fuck with him. So, he don't know nothing about biggies life either. You listening to Music but just listen to the lyrics and make your own Stories? You gotta know what a Rapper is talking about and where they come from and what time it was back then.

      Yeah? That’s true but Lloyd was probably way younger than Pac when he was here. Lloyd is very older now so I’m sure in his days he wasn’t no goody guy.

    I don't make excuses for terrible behavior and one is due the consequences of their actions but I will not assume that everyone can survive their trials and tribulations. Once you enter into a gang its hard to get out and growing up poor in the ghetto will afford you many offers to escape if you join in one. Some officers in these ghettos are a little too close to the criminals and some don't want to risk confronting a violent situation until everything (and some folk) die down. There is very little protection for the innocent and this breeds mistrust.
    Its easy to slip up and fall and in the hood even harder to stand back up again. And even if you make it out without being tarnished you have to confront a world very different than what you grew up in. A world that everyone painted as apathetic and out to get you.
