We'll never die we'll never die we'll keep the red flag flying high because Man United will never die! RIP Busby Babes. Proud to be part off this club!
When I see Harry Gregg standing there listen to the names of those who died breaks my heart as you know he is thinking of his friends that died. Where as I know the names of the Busby babes as a respected part of the history of the team I Love the names of the players mentioned were his friends.
Thanks for doing the singing every year Pete, I've been down every year since the 50th and seen how the numbers of attendees have grown year on year, it's a lovely way to remember the Babes
If you visit Old Trafford you will see the the words to the Flowers of Manchester written down and attributed to "Anon". This song was actually written by my Father Eric Winter. If you don't believe me ask Mick Groves who recorded a CD of this song at the ground. Mick Groves was a member of The Spinners sometimes called The Liverpool Spinners and my Father got them their first recording contract.
Harry Gregg, a hero for whom the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton as well as many others may not have survived, who played the very next match, and led the team for years to come, has now gone to be with his teammates. Without him, does this club even survive the Munich Air Disaster?

I was there that day. I worked for United back then and about a month before I had spoken to a relative of Harry Gregg's whilst working in the office. She spoke to me about how it would probably be the last time he would ever be at Old Trafford when he went to a game that was coming up. Little did I know he was up in the stands with Sir Alex until my Mum (who has been a United fan since the days of Georgie Best) turned to me and said he, "oh my god there's Harry Gregg!" I couldn't believe it but there he was, he had come back again for one last time. True to his family member's word he never came back to Old Trafford. The other thing that really stuck with me this day was the snow. When I say it began snowing as soon as we started singing "The Flowers of Manchester" I mean the very second. Pathetic Fallacy in action. Like God looked down on us and wept with the cold tears that sent the Busby Babes to their graves. Soon after the song finished we had the thousands of fans singing "We'll never die" I couldn't muster any sound. I was too busy weeping. I was born in 1993 and never watched the babes. But to anyone who tells you football is "Just a game" tell them otherwise. This is our History as Mancunians, this is our culture as United fans, this is our family and our heritage. This is MUFC. Edit: In fact you can see me, my Mum and Dad at the very bottom of the frame at 1:07 I'm the ginger with the glasses, she has a grey hat on and my dad has his United Beanie on.

The most eerie thing at this commemoration was not just the snowing but when a baby began to cry. This was the sound that caused Harry Gregg to stop in his tracks when he was running away from the plane. He told those around him that there were people still in there and ran straight back and saved a number of lives.. What a hero that man was that day on that field in Munich!@@Mikeb1001
Bobby Charlton And Harry Gregg where there probably thinking about their mates that passed. To all the Liverpool and City and Leeds fans that mock Munich how would you guys like to see your friends die? How would you like it if your football team crashed and your favorite players died? Same goes to the United fans that chant about The 96 Liverpool fans that died in Hillsborough and the 2 Leeds fans that got Stabbed to death in Turkey. Imagine it could’ve been you. Imagine that the Munich air crash was your football team.
