Knots are based on nautical miles, which are about 15% greater than standard miles, on which other measures, such as visibility, are base. Great synthetical video packed with useful informations !
A very important thing to note: according to UCAR's Comet MetEd, weather station models list the ambient and dewpoint temperature in degrees Celsius and visibilities in kilometers. I have no idea where you got the Fahrenheit/miles idea from, but station models are meant to be interpreted from weather stations around the world. The United States of America is one of only three countries in the world who still use the imperial system, the others being Liberia and Myanmar. The rest of the world uses the metric system, so it logically follows that weather station models use the metric system as well.
I am in Meteorology class.... and I don't understand my teacher. But with this video was amazing and very explanatory! I appreciate what you did! keep the good job!
The explanation is really great!! I have one doubt, the temperatures are in Centigrade or Fahrenheit, because the book I refer to mentions the same value of temperature, but in degree centigrade
Great video, but isn't your present weather symbol incorrect if you wanted it to be fog? I thought fog is horizontal lines. The symbol you are using looks more like smoke. Either way, you do an excellent job describing station models, which so many students find difficult. Thank you for creating this video.
From one Earth Science teacher to another, you have put together a lot of great videos. Thank you for sharing your work.
Thank you Mike, I owe you forever now
As a student pilot i couldn't understand the way they explained on the book...You have explained the simplest and greatest way!thank you very much
You and me both LOL
Me too
WHy can't they directly tell you what all this is
Kaden Anderson I know right!!!
takes up too much space on a weather map
Screw the 16 people who disliked, you helped me out!
Excellent thanks you help me on my home work!!! you explain better than my science teacher
My professor linked this video for Geo 103. He explained it well but you had a longer more laid out video. So thanks to you both

Does anybody know how you're supposed to calculate the Barometric pressure from 3 hours ago?
Get a barometer
So it’s humid and snowing?
Humid just means the air is holding a lot of moisture compared to how much it could hold at a given temperature - so yes, humid and snow happens!
God bless you
Glad you enjoyed it!
