    If you’re not familiar with the story, here’s a brief synopsis: In January 1971, the Perron family, Roger (father), Carolyn (mother), and their five daughters, Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cindy, and April, moved into a farmhouse on the outskirts of Burrillville, Rhode Island. Not long after moving in, the family reportedly experienced all manner of paranormal activity, from apparitions to physical attacks by unseen hands. The most frequent apparition, according to Andrea Perron’s true story books, was that of a woman with a broken neck who came to be wrongly popularized as Bathsheba Sherman.
    Paranormal Investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren inserted themselves into the family’s experiences, making the case famous via their lectures and eventually The Conjuring film. The Perron family claimed that paranormal experiences went on for almost ten years, until the family had to move from the house in 1980. The story quieted down for a time, until the house was shoved back into the spotlight with the release of The Conjuring film by Warner Brothers in July 2013.
    The new owners of the house, Cory and Jennifer Heinzen, were very interested in the farmhouse. According to several interviews, Cory fell in love with it after visiting the house before it had gone up for sale. Not surprisingly, Cory and his wife are also ghost hunters, and Cory feels the house is a piece of paranormal history. Since moving in, Cory claims to have experienced the modern standard ghostly activities: “doors opening and closing on their own, footsteps, knocking, the disembodied voices." He even claimed a black mist was witnessed, describing it as “it looks like smoke. It’ll gather in one area and then it’ll move."

      A lot of the real thing was over dramaticized in the movie, like the whole eneing of the movie with the mother getting possessed and levitating that didn't happen either.
      They threw in some Hollywood magic to make the movie more extreem. But that's just how it works with Hollywood. I do believe this place is haunted, but i don't believe everything shown in the movie has actually happened.

    • @JMExplorations
      @JMExplorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      JP we see it the same way!! They definitely take advantage of the phrase "Based on a true story." The basis of the story is true but then all the Hollywood magic gets added in to make for a great scary movie!! :)

    What most people don’t understand when they go ghost hunting is daemonic forces like this require family members and ownership of the house. What I mean by that is the curse only works for the family members who own the house but now that they no longer on the house the curse is mainly broken so the demon has no power. That’s why it’s so quiet compared to what happened to them when they used to live there.

    I’ve watched several documentaries on this house, and I find it extremely odd that a woman who lived there for years never experienced anything. In fact, the only reason she moved was because people harassed her knowing the house was based on The Conjuring.

    • @JMExplorations
      @JMExplorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Angela W she never admitted to having paranormal activity. I (Marcel) wonder why she would have ghost hunters come in if she never experienced anything? I guess only her and the house knows that answer!

    • @JMExplorations
      @JMExplorations  4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Hi Angela! It’s Jen. We weren’t 100% sure about that either. But really, that is why we do what we do. We are actually skeptical and investigate with open minds. You do have a point, but Marcel is right...check out that episode of Ghost Hunters. She did end up in a legal battle with Warner Brothers over all of the subsequent issues that happened after the movie came out. It must have been very stressful for her. With all that being said, if you live anywhere near Rhode Island, you can actually check it out for yourself. There is nothing like researching the unknown and we hope that you in some way enjoyed the tour. Take care and have a great weekend!

      I'm pretty sure I saw this house bring investigated on another show and I watched it on TH-cam a couple of months ago. I think the show is called kindred spirits or something like that. They actually bought back the old residents of the house. Don't quote me on that because I could have the wrong house but I'm pretty sure it was the conjuring house. I don't know all the names of the residents but it was a father and his 3 daughters. Apparently the mother won't go back to the house. I'm going to look like a real idiot if it's a different house. They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. We hope that through this video, the memories held within will remain

      @@JMExplorations Guys get a phoney ghost app that makes that very annoying noise and put it down & let it play for a least 10 or more mins., meanwhile snap some pics where the noise is, doesn't matter if you don't see anything.
      Then turn on your recorder, ask 1 question at a time and wait a good ten or 15 seconds between questions, and don't be afraid to snap random pictures.
      Try asking some questions pertaining to their time period, like; " Do you think our crops will grow well this year?" "My horse is alittle lame, can you give me some advice?" Ask some off the wall questions like; " Is there a cave near by? Where should I dig my new well?" "My name is ___ Looks like we'll be neighbors...Ahhhh what is your name?" Let some time go inbettween the questions.
      Take plenty of pics while you're doing this. If they come out with nothing you can always delete them.
      All that might sound crazy but it has worked for me so I hope it would work for you. The werid app sound sometimes makes them want to investigate the sounds.
      All we're doing is looking for answers to what might come next and there is no right or wrong way so we just keep trying and do our best.
      I always have to laugh when someone states they're an 'expert'. 😃😂😁 Just do your best and have fun and be safe. Maybe by trying to be in 'their time period' with your question they might engage with you more. And ask them is there anything we could do for you. I'm sure the other investigations all pretty much had the same question over & over. They may like you more cause your different from the other folks investigating.
      I'm no expert by any means, we just try different things and see if they work. I'd luv to know if any of the pictures you take shows anything. LOOK AT THEM LATTER WHEN YOU'RE HOME AND TELL THEM THEY AREN'T ALLOWED TO FOLLOW YOU HOME.
      I think the above is very important. Plus, while looking through the many pics you've taken you might be surprised at what you find.
      All the best of luck to you both and thank you for letting us tag

I swear to you that I saw them do, the smallest, hidden by others, to don't get yelled at by nuns .. it was like a half second flash, but so clear!

    Alot of what they experienced is documented in Andrea perons books, the floral scent was associated with a female spirit that would frequent the girls at night. What could possiblybe Bathsheba is a terrible sulfur like scent that penetrated the rooms. That house can be dangerous Andrea perons mother was attacked multiple times in that house, in the changing room by the bathroom she was beaten by a hanger that levitated on its own. In the barn if I remember correctly from Andreas book, an old scythe like farming tool flew by her head nearly grazing her instead impacted her leather jacket. There was definitely something out to get her, if not Bathsheba.

      Hi Leswehman PhD. This is Jennifer, the J of J&M. Marcel and I have decided to split your comments up between the two of us because we each have a different approach to answering people who have nothing better to do than to be cruel and heartless in their comments. So, Marcel and I are a couple who enjoy exploring this wonderful world that we have. We go to historic, abandoned and, yes.... sometimes haunted locations to spend time with each other and to make videos of places that others might not be able to go to. There are many people who enjoy our videos and love to interact positively with us. Honestly, we had no idea that this video would take off like it did. We are a small channel. NOT professionals with production assistants, hair and make up (obviously as you can see by my COVID hairdo). Marcel has an extensive background in paranormal research. I am about 3 years in and ya know what? I really love it, but I’m not a professional. We are sorry we wasted your time🙄 Sorry, but you gave us an eye roll so I’m eye rolling you back. You see, instead of suffering through 25 minutes of boredom and annoyance, you could have simply changed the channel. But instead, you hung in there and then decided to be mean. Hope you will find the exciting paranormal videos you are looking for.... there sure are enough out there. Many that have production people, editors... millions of viewers. But as for us, we will take your comment and all of the other mean hearted comments we have been getting and set them aside. There are plenty of people out there who actually like us and feel happy when we take them on our adventures. I hope that you find your own happiness. Maybe you have adventures of your own....and maybe, you just get your kicks out of putting other people down. Either way, thank you for the view and feel free to move along.

    So my question is this.. Is the house abandoned or you have to get permission from the house owners before you investigate the property? Are they keeping the house like a museum for people to visit? And it also seem to be clean, do they clean the house? And do they still pay the electric bill? Also, we saw your other comment come through but we can’t find it. With all do respect, it may seem cheesy to have “intros”, but we are not paid professional actors on some major network making tons of money. We are a small TH-cam channel that enjoys supporting other small channels and, in this case, our very good friends. There are plenty of major network shows out there with more professional content... there are even TH-cam channels out there that are masters of editing and presenting a less “cheesy” content, but guess what? That’s not who we are. We are a couple that loves to explore and isn’t it great that we can bring people along with us that may never get to see the places that we go. We shoot the way we feel most comfortable with and we honor our friends when we can. In short, we are who we are and we don’t plan on changing. Thank you again for taking the time to watch and to comment.

    I also would be scared to go near that house. The demon still stays there and the history of all the human sacrifice that goes all the way back earlier than the 1730's and satanic rituals, and suicide. I don't care if it is renovated from in and out, it's too scary. It just seemed there's a portal opened there already and cannot be closed.

Witnesses by Andrea what she said that her mother was thrown. You should watch it. Omg I forget who did it. Andrea talked to the spirits on the phone. Told them to be respectful.

    Great video, some of the description you gave wasn't exactly right tho. For instance Manny wasn't child like. He was a man, hence Manny. He never spoke with them or made eye contact with the children. He only made eye contact with Carolyn. They always saw him out of the corner of their eye. Just an example. Another being, a woman with a crooked neck due to her hanging herself. Not a man. Andrea gives great lectures about all this. She has multiple videos on her channel. They're a great watch..

      We did this video a couple of years ago and have since learned even more than we knew back then. We don’t claim to be experts. As you know from watching, we had a wonderful interview with Andrea for this video. We are honored to have been able to speak with her personally about her experience. Many of the facts of this experience have been blown way out of proportion for the Hollywood factor and we did our best to stay true to the history. We spent hours researching and even went to to the town library to research the black book and other notable articles. We appreciate you taking the time to give us more information and thank you for watching.
