I agree although some of his dramas are not quite good but damn I really really love his acting skills. He's my favorite along with Jisub, WonBin. He's just so underrated.
This man is unparalleled! He recognizes interesting roles and elevates the character's identity better than any other korean actor. He was mind-blowing in Chuno, delightful in Fated to Love You and flawless in Voice. He has a long record of fascinating roles/dramas too. If I was an actor, I would be intimidated to act alongside Mr. Hyuk...… He'll make me look basic and I'll never win an award!
Chuno is 1 of my top 3 favorite historical drama. The lead male protagonist is a great actor and no wonder that he won the grand prize in 2010 KBS Drama Awards for the drama ''CHUNO'' (Slave Hunter). He portrayed a superb acting in that drama, although it saddened me of the outcome of the ending. He was too pitiful and should deserve a happy life, but in the end, he died just to protect the girl he loved so dearly. His love for the girl was so great even after he found out that she already married, he didn't hesitate to sacrificed his life to protect and save the girl. One of the best historical drama on my list.

Totally agree! 100%. I am so glad I didn't get put-off by his crazy laugh at the start of the drama because it turned out to the a gem of a movie. He was amazing in this movie!

firstly ,sorry for my bad english but i hope to explain what i'm trying to say Jang hyuk is an exceptional actor, versatile, deeply expressive and dramatic. he 's a real action man,and plays the demon dae gil masterfully! CHUNO is not only a masterpiece drama for the screenplay , cinematography and direct but it's absolutley a cult drama , iconic drama! i'm italian and i've always loved Sergio leone's movie and ennio morricone's music ;Chuno reminds these movies. chuno has a style similar , to the spaghetti western or to the quentin tarantino's movie like django unchained ((obviously not identical)because it's a mix different kinds of action music fight , tragedy and fun without to be ridiculous . JANG HYUK IS THE FIGHTER !!! i love his way of acting ,ironic, sarcastic , desperately dramatic and funny. i've not a personal list because i think his works have been very different each other but at the same time have been excellent. anyway if i have to make a list between these drama it would be : 1)CHUNO 2)SHINE OR GO CRAZY AND FATED TO LOVE YOU 3) MIDAS 4)THANK YOU
Taiga Jäger i discovered Jang Hyuk only a month ago.I was intially crushin over his good looks ( Fated to love you)... But then watched 'Thank you' and admired him for his acting.Then watched 'Real Man' and admired him for he is a tough guy in real world.Watched 'Beautiful mind' and now totally head over heels for him. Haha.But your comparisons of his acting with that of Hollywood legends totally made my day :) :)
