    I spent 8 years with the Coast Guard Hovercraft base located at Sea Island near Vancouver BC. I was a Rescue Specialist/Rescue Diver - we were the first Dive Rescue Team in Canada to conduct Capsized Vessel training and extraction. Our team initially trained the SAR Techs in Capsized Vessel Rescue until they built 3 trainers. We switched from scuba to surface supply over 15 years ago due to the risks. The Coast Guard Hovercraft Unit is the only Dive Rescue team in Canada and continues to train in capsized vessel rescue. I left the career in 2008.

      I’ve been on that hovercraft before it’s so cool but also really loud

      Right on. We have such a deep well of search and rescue knowledge in Canada. I've had the privilege of working with you Professionals at Sea Island on Joint PJ/SAR Tech/Coast Guard SAR Exercises. You were strong, professional and awesome hosts. The versatility of your Hovercraft and RIBs is amazing. You guys and gals serve Canadian as consummate professionals and experts in Coastal Marine Rescue and I'd take the Riot Coarse again on a heartbeat if I could. RESCUE

      No... its the RCAF SAR Tech. Canadian Forces is an upper echelon administrative organization that the liberal government pushes as they do not like the return of the separate arms and traditions. You might as well say DND Sat Tech.

    US Rescue Swimmers > RCAF SAR

    • @jameson1239
      @jameson1239 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I mean it depends really the US rescue swimmers are some of the worlds premier rescue swimmers but the SARTECHS do way more then just water rescues there probably more comparable to PJs

      @@jameson1239 Wrong again. RCAF SAR are not combat capable. They have zero CSAR capability.

      Us rescue swimmers focus heavily on water ops, where canadian SAR team focus more 50/50 land/sea, I'm sure on average us rescue swimmers are probobly better on water but on land that's a diffrent story, candians have some of the best multi mission SAR teams in the world
