Could possibly symbolically represent how families like this can look calm and safe at first, but are actually really chaotic and turbulent under the surface, freezing, merciless, and even deadly- but looks perfectly safe from above. I don't fully understand what's going on, but I love the fact that when he accidentally? killed that girl, he went to his parents and they covered him up. I didn’t quite understand if they had a good family, but the fact that he was sure that he could come to them with such a problem is awesome.

Bro this song fits this book I had to read for school so well. Like they literally had the police investigate the, for so,thing they found in the boat that they hadn’t used in a while and the main character’s first backstory point was when she was 8 and the mom made her lie about what happened. But also so many details are way too different (like the entire last part)

This is how I always imagined the boat falling off the shelf bit. It just sounded like it was more to protect her daughter than it was her being a pathological liar
