    Im an American, but can honestly say that Iranian guy is a beast. Best wrestling match I've seen in a long time. Based on that first round, I thought Taylor was going to lose. I don't know what happened to the Iranian guy, but if I had to guess, I'd say he gassed out. If he didn't slow down or lose focus, he would've beat Taylor without a doubt. Taylor's heart won this one. Respect to both of them.

    This is one of the best matches I've seen in 25 years in the sport. If anyone can keep Yazdani's first period pace for a whole match, they'll be the best ever. That being said, one of America's all time greats showed that our style of training beats everyone at the highest of levels. Too bad this wasn't the final...it would have more views

    • @MrGuanYu1
      @MrGuanYu1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, it's about like if Austin Desanto met someone who had his exact pace and they went at it on their feet like that for 1.5-2 periods. It's just insane. And yeah, that was a horrid draw for both of them.

      Taylor has been training with most recent supplements and facilities however Yazdani lives in Iran which is under USA sanctions pressure, there is no good supplements no enough facilities and no more of anything essential for a national team member practice.....yes at the time this match started all the team members had just suffered from the anxiety of not being able to attend World championships in Budapest due to huge decrease of Iran's currency value and large expenditures while Taylor had just focused on the match and win..These things for those who are outside Iran is a little bit strange and may sound unrelated, but the truth is It's hell more than pertinent.

    • @MrGuanYu1
      @MrGuanYu1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@justfine77777 What's even more interesting is that of the 6 points Yazdani got 2 were from a missed head throw (I didn't even realize it happened until I watched DT's interview with Flo and he mentioned he was sure he was going to get a slip call), 2 were from a poor attempt at a chest wrap throw over on the edge, and 1 was that pretty ridiculous push out when DT wouldn't go down so Yazdani slid him about 1/3 of the mat and off at the end of the 1st. So the match wasn't really as "close" or in Yazdani's favor as the score indicated in the 1st. Just mistakes by DT that Yazdani capitalized on, but in that interview with Flo, DT said that's what Yazdani does so well, he bullies you and forces you to make dumb mistakes sometimes. Either way though they are both great athletes and their matches are really fun to watch.

    Great match! Slow start for Taylor, though his scramble is an everpresent threat; he just wasn’t his usual aggressive, pressuring self throughout the first round and gave up some points.
    On that subject, 3 point for that first takedown for the Iranian? That seemed questionable but went unchallenged.
    The Iranian wrestler looks to be a powerhouse, but - and this is by no means exclusive to him - seems to lack urgency until it’s too late and he is gassed.
    I can’t help but notice who tends to spring to their feet once the referee blows the whistle and who it is that has to be pressured by the referee to get to position.

      Taylor’s technique is at least as good as Yazdani’s. However, Yazdani’s more powerful than Taylor but Taylor has a better gas tank. You can see how Yazdani got most of his points from his incredible underhook and from physically forcing Taylor to the edge of the match.
      This isn’t a match showing cardio over technique. It’s a match showing two incredibly skilled wrestlers with one more physically powerful and another with a better gas tank.
      I hope both wrestlers are 100% in a few weeks and that they meet each other to decide gold. This match is just incredible.

    I , like the most Iranians felt very sad to watch this fight . We Iranians should learn analyse our lost in the sport as well as other things like our history!
    Why Hassan YAZDANI lost?
    My main 5 reasons for this fail at this world championships are:
    1) He was not in good shape: at this level, he could only fight for max 3 min.
    2) He attacks 'impulsively' with high intensity & he forgets to defend. He doesn't think further if his attack fails, whats the next? He doesnt have any sollution!
    3) He doesnt know his limit: this is very negative! He fights as a 'frog without a head'
    4) He doesnt have any plan to win the best wrestlers in the world like D. TAYLOR!
    5) D. TAYLOR confronted YAZDANI at the first round in the morninig(almost 9.30). H. YAZDANI mentally/fysically was n't ready at all. On the contrary,TAYLOR was very sharp & totally ready & with a plan! D TAYLOR knew at that moment at 9.30 in the morning in the first round very well: this is a gold medal match. But YAZDANI was at that moment sleeping & he wanted sleeping further!
    Underestimating the opponent? NO NO
    Overestimating himself? Maybe
    We know that Hassan YAZDANI is 'Potantially' the Best, He Knows that Too. But you must prove that year by year!
    Conclusion: This is only result of 'lack of professionalism in the sport'.

    Pretty interesting match. Khadem and the coaching staff during this tournament really showed no respect to Taylor and his previous win over Yazdani. They had no specific gameplan, he wrestled Taylor the same way he does everyone (and the way he wrestled him when he lost to him the first time in Iran) and it cost him as he gassed again. Taylor showed he could at least survive that heavy pressure style but it seems the coaching staff considered the first loss a fluke. But now it has been proven twice. Will be interesting to see what happens going forward as Yazdani has said he will wrestle Taylor differently next time and Mohammadi is the head coach now.
    Yazdani is better than Taylor when they are fresh and he can throw him around BUT he is not so much better that he can tech him and finish the match early, so he has to wrestle for at least more than the first period. If he gets tired it's all over, at that point Taylor can take him down easily and also come out on top if Yazdani attempts takedowns. The question is if a more patient Yazdani can beat Taylor or if Taylor just beats him again but in a slower paced match.
