i get a pallet of media and i have a dollar cd / dvd sale every weekend. i'm not the only one who does this. people buy a pallet which are amazon returns, thrift store dead stock, etc...and sell at swap meets, garage sales, music fairs and even music stores. many ebay sellers scan thru them and pick the best stuff for ebay then sell the pallets again. i find good stuff for myself with still alot of good titles to sell. fortunately and unfortunately media is real cheap these days so finding media and cheap prices is real easy.
In all seriousness we still got 4 'record' shops here in Leeds, W Yorkshire - best one is 'Relics' on Vicar Lane in our city centre - they have a dedicated progressive rock section and still sell vinyl. Every couple of months I descend on the place and blow £50 on albums by groups from the 70s ive never heard of!
Today I literally went to a yard sale in Breeze Illinois. Apparently it was this girls dead dads and he was a serious collector. They have a whole warehouse of that stuff. The CDs were all perfect condition some sealed and rare. They had 2 Japanese cds one sadly didn’t have the cd but the other had it and was perfect. No OBI but still amazing to find. The CDs were Captain Beyond - Sufficiently Breathless (no cd) and the other was Grand Funk - Survival.
I’ve been collecting cds 💿 for a long time and there harder to get and more expensive cds 💿 💿💿💿 better sound quality u own the music and pay the artist more 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Ima cd 💿 seller in 2024 and it’s really hard to sell when too many people streaming but people still have old cars 🚗 and support Artist buy cds and boom boxes are everywhere so let’s keep physical media alive 💿🤣💿💿😊
I play my CDs om a Sony Walkman CD player. These early players are worth a lot of money now but I will never sell mine. I recently purchased the 4.5V adapter because the Walkman is very heavy on battery use.
I'm in China right now and had a box of 200+ Japanese CDs sent back home to the UK. Have two Flying Kids (Awesome band) compilations that I got for less than £20 for both and cheapest I've seen them on eBay is £70. I'm collecting, not selling but CDs will go up eventually and it'll be nice to have a little investment, even if it's not that much. Fundamentally though, it's my passion so whether CDs take off or not is isn't something that bothers me.
I just watched this video you filmed last year. You said you're in So Cal, but you do not have any record stores near you. So you're definitely not living in Los Angeles County? I was born and raised there and was there during the Mom and Pop CD store BOOM!!! Most of those brick-and-mortar stores are gone now! Here is a list of what's left now. 1. Amoeba Music. The new location is on Hollywood Blvd. The Sunset Blvd location was much bigger, and the selection was second to none! 2. Rockaway Records in the Silver Lake District of Los Angeles. 3. Atomic Records in Burbank, L.A. County. 4. Freak Beat Records in the Sherman Oaks District of Los Angeles. 5. CD Trader in the Tarzana District of Los Angeles. 6. Second Spin in the Sherman Oaks District of Los Angeles. 7. Record Surplus in the Sawtelle District of Los Angeles. - I hope this helps - 😉
@@VincentBautista365yes to me Aomeba records is number 1 for me even though there new location is smaller but it has a huge selection of cds 💿 u can find 😅

Good tips. Since I just started collecting like you said I went to Walmart. I’m starting to find that I’ve bought probably all I can get out of that store. I now primarily use Amazon though I’ve heard people say to try Ebay. I also want to try Barnes and Nobles at some point and see if they have anything. See you Friday.
Awesome video Bryer, I am excited for Friday and I appreciate the shoutout! When I want to buy new CDs or vinyl I go to my local record stores or I have a look on eBay for a specific album I’m looking for!!!💿
I usually go to my local Zia Records. It has everything. Others are Walmart. Almost bought Rush's 2112, but the case was fucked so no buy. Goodwill I sometimes go to. The last 5 CDs I got were from Goodwill. Salvation Army is one I'll check out if I come across a store.
i can find 25 cent cds at my thrifts. I try to get them all in bulk. do you think that's a good win? I love all genres and find all sorts of new stuff I didn't even know i was looking for.
I'm Dutch.....I go to some 8 cd/record fairs in a year....with friends, having something to eat too and lots of beer...good day out 🙂. We have the world's biggest record/cd fair twice a year....in Den Bosch now instead of Utrecht. Then there's still stores around, a really good one in Amsterdam, Concerto in the Utrechtsestraat I visit frequently as I live close to Amsterdam. Of course there's Discogs, Amazon....Amazon Germany really has the best things most of the time, Bol (bit expensive though). Several, if not most of the fair dealers have websites you can order from. I order from labels(sites) and I buy quite a lot on Bandcamp, that's from the artist self or label. No shortage in supply....on the contrary. 😄 Guess I have some 4000 cd's now.
@@BryersMusicShowcase I absolutely love 'em! Really a day out for us and I always come home with a bag full. The biggest ones here have German sellers, British, French, Italian even....the Germans in particular always have a somewhat different assortment with them, oftentimes metal/hardrock/krautrock/psych....things I look for....always love their presence. Italians have lots of Italian prog....British always have prog. They give a different offering I really like. Try some around you if they are held....might be good fun.
30 years ago I was on a YTS in Wirral. I had a 'mate' called Gary, who had really bad eczema. He used to get called Def Leper. Absolutely brutal. I wouldn't mind but he didn't even like the band.
I buy tons of CDs on Facebook. I’ll buy peoples full collections from 40 to 400 CDs at a time. Sure I get tons of dupes but because I’m buying them out I price my offers realizing I’ll get dups, bad or missing disks and flat out stuff not my style. Over the last year I’ve bought about 6-7k CDs. Only one time was I scammed.
I'm selling my cds but my OBI STRIPS, Limited Press, Original Issues, and Out of Prints aren't going to be cheap!!! No scratches on any of them most are still sealed....
600 CDs is very impressive I collected CDs for 30 years and only got 400 800 if you include bootlegs but adjusted for inflation CDs cost $40 back in the 80s. so when you run out of space on your shelves will you be going to Pete Pardo method with a giant shelf or the Brendan Snyder method with the boxes?? This is definitely one of the worst heat waves we’ve ever had in Southern California. I’m pretty close to the beach and we’re gonna end up with 10 straight days over 90 which just sucks.🥵🥵🥵🥵🤮
If anyone has the chance to visit Savannah Georgia we have record store name Graveface record and tapes, they have a nice selection of music in stock I go there some time to buy music or I order off Amazon 💯💯
I'm not s WalMart hater. I have found many great CDs for $5 or less. Also Walmart online has great prices on CDs and a great selection. I have not paid full price on many of my CDs in years.
