@MrFandude123 Its actually a copy of the Moonglow i think. The brand is Sahara according to a sticker on the switch housing. It was humming because it was on a light dimmer switch, which ceiling fans should NEVER be on. That can cause the fan motor to break or maybe even a fire. I replaced the dimmer with a flip switch, no more hum
Nice fans! Love them all. As i can see,the previous owner did some changing on the first one.I see the four light missing and that fan is on a dimmer and the second one is kinda high. My recommendation, the first fan, remove that dimmer off the wall and pit a regular wall switch. If you still want the dimmer for lights, get a remote control kit and add on the fan.I installed the Walmart version of this fan at my aunt and added the remote. The second fan,you can do the same for it too,the remote.
@pocketdrummer84 dimmer was already replaced with flip switch. That other one, it has a dual switch wiring electrical box since light has its own switch, so we might one day put in a 3speed wall control for fan
If my parents would ever want a fan in there. The places they mainly like having them are in bedrooms though, although we do the ones in this video quite frequently throughout the summer
@jonahmusto Well idk if it was previous owner or the owner before them though. The other 2 fans were definetly from the previous one, because they built those additions to the house that they are in. I guess Sahara might be from the previous owner
I saw 4 of the Emerson Buckinghams ceiling fans in light greyish color (though with the light-kits on they look white) back in December 2011, and the light-kits are controlled by two dimmer controls, and they are at one of the churches in Bakersfield California. (I bet you already know, I'm just posting this comment so that people can see it below this video.)
@intelitouch Chances are theyll agree with me, but they might not ever do it. I go there most Sundays for youth group, and they dim down the lights for certain things, so they probably wont remove the dimmers. The best thing is probably for them to not have the fans
I still think it's made by Litex. The shade may be different, but the canopy ring is the same as on that Starbright and the Moonglow/Wolcott, and it has the exact same shaped blades. The Elite has the pointed-edge blades, and a different light shade
Actually it turns out Litex actually sold both Moonglow and Starbright, just that Moonglow is same as Harbor Breeze Moonglow, but Starbright has different shades for lights in housing.
@CeilingFanVideosOnYT Possibly, and I think it was sold at HQ back in the day, because i found out about a brand called Sahara Fan Company that was owned by HQ. And the Buckingham is actually discontinued
When you commented on my "Litex Moonglow ceiling fan" video (which turned out to be Starbright and not Moonglow), the fan does look identical to Sahara in this video, except that glass for light housing is different. Harbor Breeze Moonglow and Encon Elite, however, has identical looking glass for lighted housing as Sahara in your video.
@jonahmusto The Sahara, yeah it seems fine for a fan its type. The Emerson, I can only feel good air on high since its on a high ceiling, can feel a little bit on medium, and nothing on low. The Minka Aire, again it seems fine for a fan its type
@jonahmusto Yeah I was standing on a chair. Surprisingly the light is on a switch, but not the fan! I think we're gonna tie a piece of string to the chain
The Channel of Random Ceiling Fans thanks for sharing that with me! Where did you find that HQ ad? I had a feeling it probably was, considering Harbor Breeze and Litex Moonglow
NoahBones 12 no, it has a sticker labeled “Sahara” on the switch housing, also made by Litex. I’ve come to the conclusion that these fans were sold at Home Quarters (HQ) until they went out of business in 1999
@jonahmusto I know I know, I removed the dimmer a few weeks ago and put a flip switch there. The previous owners of this house were such dumbasses, the inspector found many problems in the house before we bought it, and my parents had a hard time trying to get them to fix everything we wanted, and they were asking way too much money! We had our own appraisel done, offered them the amount of the appraisel and told them thats the highest wed go because of that, and they accepted it
i know this video is 12 years old, but thought i might mention that the fan wasn’t on a dimmer switch. if the switch started on high first, it is more then likely a solid state variable speed control made for fans. still kinda odd the light and fan are both on it, but whatever.
@intelitouch Oh really you think it can cause fires? Boy I cant wait til the youth ministry room in a church in my neighborhood catches fire then! It has 4 Hampton Bay Quick Connects in that room and theyre on dimmer switches that are also connected to the lights!
minka air shringlia unkown hugger and a ge vent and emerson crown also aloha fan and two hamton bay landmark plus but also has a craftmade porch fan and my dog named lola have a hunter augsta ceiling fan and harbor breeze oleans fan my ceiling fans in my house join the VIDEO !!!!!!!!!!!
I came here for nostalgia! I literally OBSESSED with this video back then! Thank you so much! This is truly a classic!
Same here! I watched it in 2012

Wow, i like your fans! Especially the Emerson Buckingham, very nice! :)

I love the fans you have!
i also love the third fan!!!! and your house looks well nice! good video!

Shut up
1. Litex Wolcott/Moonglow
2. Emerson Buckingham
3. Minka Aire Shangri-La
Ceiling Fans of the Pacific Southwest I found out that the Sahara model is “Moonglow” just never updated description.
Those Buckingham fans are pretty nice. They have K55's.
@jonahmusto Well idk if it was previous owner or the owner before them though. The other 2 fans were definetly from the previous one, because they built those additions to the house that they are in. I guess Sahara might be from the previous owner
@jonahmusto Not yet and no. We dont really even use our fans this time of the year, so that can wait
I Like the Emerson Buckingham at 1:23

So Sahara may actually be more likely a rebadged Encon Elite. Litex Starbright has a different shade for lights in housing.

omg the first fan is amazing! i want one!
@jonahmusto Yeah but a little bit different, and it has a Sahara sticker on it, so its a Sahara
@jonahmusto Both, but it doesnt change the fan speed

the harbor breeze moonglow is just a rebadged litex starbright. the encon was sold at walmart. this ones the moonglow
@HunterInfiniti idfk idfc that comment is 5 years old
Can you make an update video please?
I'd put a Harbor Breeze classic in the kitchen
@jonahmusto It could be. A long time ago, im not sure if it was this fan or not, but something like it was being sold at Meijer i remember
@carexpertandy i live in the UK not the USA so im not too sure what that is. you probably cant get them over here! still a nice fan.
@jonahmusto I havent noticed any change while using dimmer with fan on, so I think it stays the same
@jonahmusto The Sahara, yeah it seems fine for a fan its type. The Emerson, I can only feel good air on high since its on a high ceiling, can feel a little bit on medium, and nothing on low. The Minka Aire, again it seems fine for a fan its type
I like the first fan its fancy
@Long Luan Hoang get out of here
When was the minka aire installed
IC CE Lover I believe the previous owners added that screened in porch around 2004
@ilovemiele1 you can still find one just like this at Lowes
And then, in 2012, it got discontinued.
I have the same fan but with a light kit one like the one on top and light kit
@jonahmusto Yeah I was standing on a chair. Surprisingly the light is on a switch, but not the fan! I think we're gonna tie a piece of string to the chain
Turns out model name for Sahara is "Moonglow" www.flickr.com/photos/138449492@N06/40930394171/in/dateposted-public/
The Channel of Random Ceiling Fans thanks for sharing that with me! Where did you find that HQ ad? I had a feeling it probably was, considering Harbor Breeze and Litex Moonglow
If I type that in or click that link, I can't find it anywhere. Searching that site is just like searching Google
Sorry, newspapers.com
The Channel of Random Ceiling Fans oh cool thanks. Do you remember the date on that? I don’t feel like making an account right now
1995.
the first one is a harbor breeze moonglow made by litex
NoahBones 12 no, it has a sticker labeled “Sahara” on the switch housing, also made by Litex. I’ve come to the conclusion that these fans were sold at Home Quarters (HQ) until they went out of business in 1999
Andy A they also sold them at sears.
Andy A there all the same fan, just rebadged
Sahara Moonglow, the end.
@jonahmusto I know I know, I removed the dimmer a few weeks ago and put a flip switch there. @@carexpertandy ah. Out of curiosity, do you still live in this house? If so what's changed?
