Our first born grandbaby was told she was down syndrome. But praised the Lord shes good , very healthy, plays the piano , flute, trumpt, speaks English, Spanish, French, German, and is a full grown 25yr old blessed baby

You don't know that. O you know the WBC? Does it have a thick tongue? Other issues not visible to the eye? For example, there is a type of Down's called Mosaic DS.
I work in a Newborn ICU. What does the chromosomes say? Does the baby have a thick beefy tongue? Does the baby show poor suck/swallow coordination? Does the baby have specific hand palm markings? Are there low set ears? Are there tufts of hair on the sacrum? How weak/strong are the baby's reflexes? Rely on a chromosome blood test. That, for sure, is your answer.
I see no markers for down syndrome . All i see is normal healthy baby . It could be mosaic down syndrome . Bit it hard to diagnose and most people or babies with mosaic doen syndrome are normal and dont even know they have mosaic down syndrome . Anyway , looks like a perfect healthy baby to me ! Why do they film a newborn. Why don’t they just pick the child up regardless of if there is a problem? Check the child out when they are warm and comfortable. Do they leave the child crying to get people to click on if they see a newborn in distress?
To put your mind at rest: a newborn needs to be checked out immediately after birth, not when they are warm and comfortable. In this video the neonatal nurse is doing exactly what she is supposed to be doing: an APGAR test. The APGAR score is a test given to newborns immediately after birth unless they need lifesaving procedures which will of course take priority. The APGAR test checks a baby's heart rate, muscle tone, and other signs to see if extra medical care or emergency care is needed. Babies usually get the test twice: 1 minute after birth, and again 5 minutes after they're born. So the warm and the comfort comes afterwards ... If you watch carefully, you will see the nurse flexing the baby’s leg muscles by extending and then pushing his knees back into his chest to check if the legs remain floppy or are well flexed and resisting extension. This is part of the test - there is no reason whatsoever to assume that anyone in the room is ignoring the crying baby or is filming a crying baby to then post it as a clickbait. The acronym APGAR stands for: Appearance (skin colour), Pulse (heart rate), Grimace response (reflex irritability), Activity (muscle tone), Respiration (breathing rate and effort). Scores are between 10 and 0. Ten is the highest score possible, but few babies get it straight away and that's because most babies' hands and feet remain blue until they have warmed up. At the end of the test the nurse then adds up these five factors. A baby who scores a 7 or above on the test is considered in good health. A lower score does not mean that your baby is unhealthy. It means that your baby may need some immediate medical care, such as suctioning of the airways or oxygen to help the baby breathe better. Perfectly healthy babies sometimes have a lower-than-usual score, especially in the first few minutes after birth. A slightly low score (especially at 1 minute) is common in babies born after a high-risk pregnancy, through a C-section, after a complicated labour or early delivery. At 5 minutes after birth, babies get the test again. If a baby's score was low at first and isn't better, or there are other concerns, the doctors and nurses will continue any needed medical care. This test helps health care providers tell a newborn's overall physical condition so they can quickly decide if a baby needs medical care right away. It isn't meant to predict a baby's long-term health, behaviour, intelligence, personality, or outcome. Hope this has helped you overcome your concern 🙂
I don’t see features of Down syndrome. I taught Sp Ed for over 35 years! There were many, many folks with Down Syndrome. This baby doesn’t have the features. If the baby has a straight line across the palm in stead of two ( Simeon crease) that doesn’t mean that person has Down syndrome. It’s a sign but not a conclusion lots of people have it!
Having down syndrom and being healthy is no contradiction! Why do people in 2024 still dare to say ' this is not a down syndrom but a healthy baby.... I thought society had moved on from thinking down syndrom is an illness.... I just see a healthy baby - down syndrom or not - that needs to be hugged instead of filmed!!!
I’ve found that children with Downs syndrome, have a particular “look”, usually a flattened face , especially the bridge of the nose, and almond shaped eyes that slant UP!!! I don’t see any of these physical features !! She is a beautiful baby, prayers for a happy, healthy life. 🛐📖 🎊🎉🥳😇🎂🎁🎈
Down Syndrome can be a blessing. Parents of Down Syndrome children, like all parents, need the support of the community, and support with the issues they present with. I personally know the first US registered lobbyists with Down Syndrome (Kayla McKeon; I use her name as she is a public ambassador for people with Down Syndrome) and she is great and living her life well.
Does the extra chromosome really matter? Another little being makes their way into our world, overcoming more than 3 billion years of evolution just like the rest of us. Speaking as scientists, I’ve only one comment to make “ Good for them. Long Live Life on Earth”. 🤗🏴🌹
