I ordered Obssession and all the expansions - Promotional Tiles, Wessex, Useful box, Upstairs, Downstairs. I wait for delivery which will hopefully arrive by end of 2021.

@@MeepleUniversity I have, actually! I do love the expansion because we love the base game so much. However, the staff workers added for the expansion add to the rules complexity. I wouldn't use the expansion with new players, and I think new purchasers should probably just buy the base game first to try out. The base game is already complex and satisfying enough. For people well-versed in the base game, however, I'd recommend the expansion though!
Thank you for sharing that. That make sense, expansion usually adds to the variety. The number of times we try game with expansion immediately, we regretted it usually after🤣. Oh we do like this one and you're right, it's satisfying playing it. Ok hopefully we'll get to play the expansion one day

3rd edition is basically 3rd print. Rules like 2nd edition, the just fixed some typos, components, not rules related. So you're good👍

I love movies and shows from this era and "Obsession" seems to want to create that same vibe pretty well. It's a nice looking game and I look forward to trying it out one day! Thanks for another excellent "how to". When this game was released I didn't really take a very close look at it.

Question: was there a mistake at 12:10? There is a guest at level 6 participating in a level 4 activity. Was it only for the sake of the VP card example?
I don't think so. The guest reputation level needs to be less than or equal the family reputation level, not the level of the activity being hosted.

Good question. It's pretty much 2nd edition, but 3rd print. Rules are like 2nd edition, but they fixed some typos, and other bits and pieces. I'll update the title as well, coz the note in the description might not be clear enough. Thank you

Why do they pronounce valet as ballot? The word is derived from French so the 't' is silent and it's pronounced val-ey
Good question :) Valet pronounced Valay, is for people who park cars drive cars for people etc. And Valet with a hard T is how it is pronounced for a manservant.(quote from Redit) 😜. For this game, it's the later, hence Valey with a hard T

The rulebook for this game is so annoying for a somewhat simple game. There's too much detail , should just give us the rules at face value and then have a detailed side paragraph if needed for certain circumstances. For example the rulebook should be "Once per turn you may buy a building tile." Instead we get - On your turn you can buy a new building BUT only if you have the money to buy that tile AND if your awake to do so, because if your asleep right now your just dreaming, ALSO if you don't have hands to take the tile be sure to see if someone can grab that for you and put it into your board BUT make sure it goes under the same color column as other building types .
