What I love about this channel is so simple: guys just tell stories. They talk to us. With TH-cam, and TV and everything, we get so used to cartoons and pictures jump-cuts, but we rarely get to see a guy (in this case an expert) just sit down and talk about cars.
I have worked closely with Randy and speak to him at least once every ten days. There is no finer gentleman than Randy. He and I have formed a fantastic friendship over the past few years. Randy is a most unique, humble, beautiful person. I’m proud to say he’s a good friend. Just talked with him this evening for 39 minutes. Rebell Dwag.
honestly, I'm more than happy to watch an ad or two for these videos you make. please put them on, you deserve something more out of it for the content we receive for nothing
You know, I always had a sneaking suspicion that Randy would be the type of guy to like the oddballs. I mean, for someone who drives as many fast cars as he does, what would you sell him? Apparently, an old Saab and some Volvos.
Dude I loved my S60 before it got nuked. Volvos are sleeping monsters, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They're wrong, stupid or both. And if it has a T5? You can bet your ass it's coming to clean house.
I always loved the episode of Roadkill where they had him testing the Draguar. He seemed genuinely enthused about being out there with it. I love this guys love of cars. Every quirky or oddball car is his favorite.
@@AudioArcturia I saw this video where these guys tried to find a car that could pull 150 mph for under 1k. They got a Volvo from the 90s, not sure what car it was but it hit 147 top speed.
Good to know Randy Pobst has the same craigslist/bring a trailer addiction that so many of us "suffer" from. The room full of motorcycles seemed like a preview of what I would do if I had the funds, haha. Sidenote, I got to participate in the Xtreme Experience at NCM motorsports park and it was an absolute blast! Trying (and failing miserably) to keep up with e85 evo 10's with near slicks in supercars with street tires is amazing!
Lynn Mckenney for real, I'm on craigslist and BAT every day looking at cars. Most the time I find myself looking at things I don't even have interest in lol
This has quickly turned into my favorite car related Channel on TH-cam. Schmee, SOL , STG, Salom all really fun to watch but all of these are just pure petrolhead perfection. Thank you for creating all of this content.
That GoPro clip in the Ferrari at 9:06 for Xtreme Xperience was me!!!! I work for them at their NOLA location and took that video about a year ago! That's so awesome that I got plugged into a video with THE Randy Pobst :D
I’ve always like Randy a lot! And as an owner of 2 Volvos myself and a sympathizer for knowing all too well the hell that You have to put up with for things showing up that “you don’t need” this made my respect for Randy go up TONS
Cars (and motorcycles) are better than women. If something is wrong with a car, it can be fixed. But with women, something is always wrong and they can never be fixed.Huge thumbs up for Randy !!!!
jacob is a mangina i'm 25 and retired because i havn't interacted with women in any way since i was 14 (besides small talk, fucking hookers, and talking to family) can't be a cash lord when you have a 100 IQ living fleshlight telling you what to do :D
Saw a V70 R "shaming" a Boxster from a stoplight. Volvo guy even gave him a head start. Then I only heard "vrooomm", and the Volvo was in front in a few seconds, despite the Porsche screaming his lungs out.
I love Randy’s enthusiasm. Besides being a great driver, I just imagine him being the kind of guy you could could sit and talk about cars with for hours, just for fun, just hanging out.
I like Volvo's as well. I had a 242DL that ran forever, I sold it about 18 years ago with 340k miles on it and I saw it on the road about 7 years ago still running!!!
I daily a V70T5 with a 300hp tune. I love it, it's got perfect balance of handling and ride and power. I miss my 740 turbo wagon that near opposite lock drifted off the Spring Lake exit every snowy, rainy chance I could. Good times.
This is what being a car guy is all about. It's not lap times or dyno numbers or brand that matters. It's the size of the grin it puts on your face. Some of the most fun cars I've had have also been the slowest.
He’s so pure and seems so happy with life and isn’t a fancy materialistic person it seems. So surprised he doesn’t have a Porsche or something like that
I'm a paraplegic. In 1995 I bought a 93 5.0 Mustang with AOD. During that summer, in order to drive the car I went to the local Books drugstore and bought two aluminum walking canes with a foam grip. A friend took them and drilled four more holes into them so I could make them shorter. I bought a roll of duct tape, taped them to the pedals and went for a 132mph test drive. The car did get controls but the lever stops on my leg, preventing full throttle so of course one cane had to be "repurposed" as a "full throttle actuator".
The first car my dad owned in America and basically first car my family ever had when we moved to America was an 850 Turbo R. One of the greatest cars I ever got to experience. Some of the best memories too. Considering getting one and surprising my dad one day.
I worker on the v70 when Zeke owned it he is an amazing guy and has many Volvo wagons doing work on his cars at two in the morning to put my wife through College two see this makes me happy and thank you Zeke you are a kind and wonderful person it's nice to here that car went to a cool guy rock on. Bob
Randy should do a video on how he started his career as a racecar driver. Thats the ultimate dream of us car guys. so it would be nice if he gaved us some tips on how he made it
Three options to make it in modern motorsport 1.have a rich Dad - this makes up 95% of drivers 2. Make money and plough everything it into a one make race series and work your way up - 4.99% of racing drivers 3. Be a childhood Karting prodigy and pick up a sponsored drive throughout your life - 0.01% of racing drivers
Randy anytime you need to borrow a car for a quick lap don't hesitate to ask your probably one of the best drivers that makes his presence known on the internetz
Glad to know I'm not alone with my Volvo R enthusiasm. Randy nailed it as to why they're so great..."they just feel right." Sure, there are plenty of cars that are faster, or handle better, but few that just feel so right as a good Volvo. My wagon is total beast in the snow, though. Love mine!
Randy Probst is the man, seems like such a nice and interesting guy. I have been wanting a Volvo 740 turbo, it's good to hear that he says they handle well. Good taste in cars Randy has and I'm sure bikes too.
Randy and Michael Galati came out to an Audi Club day in Colorado in probably 2004 or 2005? Anywho, you both did some laps around the track in my dad’s Mini Cooper S. He still talks about when you got to drive his track car! Thanks for the memories.
I saw that garage at AMP a several years ago. Didn't get to meet the owner but could see what looked like a world challenge volvo on dollys way in the back. Pretty cool cars.
Randy is a genuine car guy, great persona
He's a great guy and a genuine down to earth gentleman
I was gonna say that. Uhhhhh
Sounds more
Like his a motorcycle
Guy...
Sho Yu Weeni huh
Sho Yu Weeni i dont know, i dont him personally but can you elaborate on that thought
this guys is pretty much the pinnacle of car enthusiasts
I don't think Randy ever grew up... He loves racecars just the same way a kid or teen does
No he just grown with his love
Funny I randomly clicked this comment and I see a comment of mine. Lol that means the same thing attracted me.
Sho Yu Weeni: Randy is TALENTED AF.

Best 5 cylinder impersonation ever!
Only louder
remarkably accurate- I think I could've identified that just from his noise!!
Randy, this channel, utter perfection.
RIGHT why dont more people sub.
Destroyer Gaming it's gone up 4K subs since yesterday

I always adored Randy, his professional reviews and honest comments about the cars on Motor Trend. Regardless of that, now I feel like he's my mentor
Probably cause it doesn't involve staged kissing pranks with girls
Randy likes Volvos. My automotive existence is redeemed.
Same
I have a red 740 turbo racecar and im freaking out rn
Same here! Team Volvo!
I have a red 740 turbo racecar and i fanboyed out when I first saw that randy loves volvos
He’s like MR. Rodgers of the car world!!!
This

Randy and Ed's episodes are my favorite ones
They are great but Rabbit is hysterical (Rob Pitts)
re: "Financing a Jacked up Truck for Grandma at the Nursing Home"
I’ve always liked to watch him race. I think he needs his OWN car show!
Could listen to this man's stories all day, there's so much passion in his voice when he tells them.

what car do you have
Centennial Z06/Z07, see my channel
Awesome, that's a track on my list to drive!
The only person to ever review the Mazda Rx8 R3 and get it right !!
Yeah, I think he's one of the few people I'd trust with bikes and cars
Randy, thanks for the Lucky Dog Racing League shout out....your Volvo awaits you at any of our races...how about Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca?!
I love Randy! He has excellent stories
That 5cylinder impression was surprisingly accurate tho
An engine that, for some reason, sounds like it has twice as many cylinders than it actually does. Can't get enough of that growl.
It was perfect except for "louder"! I know, I have one.
OH MY GOD WHEN HE SAID SAAB I WAS THINKING DON'T SAY A 96 DON'T SAY A 96
HE HAS A 96 AND IT'S IN THE BEST COLOR
Randy, you're one of the few Race car Drivers who really impress me. Love watching you doing track testing road cars too. What a talent!

His laugh is infectious. Found myself rolling with his stories and memories.
You’re imitation of the Volvo 5 pot is so accurate 😂
I’ve always like Randy a lot! And as an owner of 2 Volvos myself and a sympathizer for knowing all too well the hell that You have to put up with for things showing up that “you don’t need” this made my respect for Randy go up TONS
Absolute legend. If you don't know who this guy is just search his name+your favourite car brand and enjoy
He glows when he talks cars, he has the enthusiasm and passion of a child. I could watch Randy drive or listen to him talk for hours
Randy is just the best dude ever. I could listen to him talk shop all day.

This is quickly becoming my favorite channel. We need more stories from Ed!
Once you notice the clapping noise he makes it's super hard to ignore. Great video, though! Always love to listen to Randy
I was expecting him to have a old Porsche, old mustang and Bmw. Wasn’t expecting the Volvo’s and Saab. To each his own. Nice video.
My first car was a 5 speed Volvo 240 when I was 18. Been addicted to cars/driving ever since.
Have I ever seen an adult this animated speaking about his love for cars? NEVER!!!!
Randy's imitation of the Volvo exhaust note was spot on haha. Never heard someone make an exhaust noise so well.
There's just something about listening to people with a genuine passion. Liked and Subscribed
What’s not to love about Randy Pobst- the guy just rocks anything that rolls!
Everyone loves Randy
I’m with him on that, I love driving manuals but with me living in Chicago I always find it a pain to drive, especially in bumper to bumper traffic.
4:38 That's the most accurate engine sound I've ever heard.
I love Randy’s enthusiasm. Besides being a great driver, I just imagine him being the kind of guy you could could sit and talk about cars with for hours, just for fun, just hanging out.

Man, I always love hearing what Randy has to say! I’m surprised he doesn’t have any exotics or high powered race cars in his stable. Mind blown!
Why bother when you can borrow them and return them miles before any servicing is due? Save your own money for cool shit not dick-waving cars.
He should make videos about bikes! I didn't know he had so many!
Nice of him to mention Eric, sadly he passed away a couple years ago, was in to his Saab's right up to the end.

You just got to love Randy Pobst, he's such a down to earth guy.
If Randy's favorite car is Volvo I think they should be going to the top of my list.
Go test drive a Pre-2015 S60 at a dealership if they have one. You won't be disappointed.
Randy Pobst praises 240s and runs a 740 turbo. That should tell you something!
I'm not much of a car guy, but I could listen to him tell stories all day.
Randy is awesome and I am glad I found this channel!
