Security threats in Africa have evolved. Traditional interstate conflicts have become rare, while today's African security threats arise from much more complex internal struggles. How can Africans address these new threats? Tendai Biti finds answers by exploring the opportunities and challenges of development and Africa's demographic explosion, and examining the varying degrees of democracy in countries across the continent, and the patterns of regional security dynamics on internal conflicts in African countries.
Tendai Biti is a former Minister of Finance of Zimbabwe and currently Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee in the Zimbabwe Parliament.
