Great video! Back in 1964 as a young child on a family holiday, I flew from Malta to what was then called London Airport on a BEA Vanguard. I’ll always remember those big windows. Happy memories.

Me to.. My grandparents had retired to Malta so I along with my brother used to go there for the summer school holidays. This would have been 69 to 71. Loved the Vangards. Preferred them even over the tridents which we also sumtimes flew on .

@@MichaelCohen48 Me too. Must have been late 60s/early 70s. London-Malta was 4 hours on the Vanguard, 3 hours on the Trident.

Flew in 1964 from Manchester to Palma on a BEA Vanguard. My memories of the heat pouring in to the cabin when the doors were opened is remarkably vivid considering I was a two year old!

Interesting interior shot at 1.12 of the Vanguard in what must have been the original 2 class configuration with F class at the rear behind the curtain and cabin divider. I have only flown on the Vanguards in the all Y domestic configuration to/from the Channel islands and Scotland in the 1970's.

Think it was about 3.5 hours on a Vangard.

    Not a vanguard, a viscount.

The Aer Lingus was the viscount & BEA larger turbo prop was the Vanguard . There is no mistaking them ,even a stretched viscount is not a large as a vanguard .
