One of my tips to save the most money is that in the months of November to Jan. We eat very cheap.
I've declared it ramen noodle, hot dog and peanut butter with carrots for our vegetables, months.
Then we could actually afford the holidays, (all of them, including the family birthdays during it) and eat good on them without going into debt.
And since we're eating small on the other days, we do not have to feel guilty for splurging on what we *_do_* eat on the holidays and the days of other invites. 😉
